Not my oh shit moment but certainly someone's. Working in a call centre they sent out an example of a fraud email that was being sent out with our logo. It asked for all your personal information and credit card information.

Several individuals replied with all their details filled in. 3 of them replied all (entire call centre) with their details filled in.

They fear becoming a minority.

clutches pearls Goodness gracious, someone might treat them like they treat minorities!

That is literally what the white "christians" have been stressing about here. As a minority mutt that "passes", maybe try being less of an asshole?

Declaring it a "very brutal way" for his wife to find out, he believes that there could've been a chance of the marriage continuing had he been able to "talk to her rationally."

I'm not sure if he means he could continue his behaviour without being caught or if he planned on lying and saying it was a one time thing. Either way I highly doubt he had any plans to be honest.

The "talk to her rationally" bit is hilarious. Yes I've been expensively unfaithful, have possibly been exposing you to a number of diseases without your knowledge, and have been physically unavailable regularly for years. What self respecting person wouldn't "rationally" see that as perfectly acceptable! /s

Searching "optometrist complaint canada" seems to get the different licensing bodies. Reaching out to them would likely get some action.

Thanks! Did not know about the Nestle connection. We stopped going to Starbucks when it moved to a fast food type experience vs the cafe feel it had at launch here.

Will be verifying they moved the hell away from Nestle before we consider returning.

Bit torn. This would be amazing when I'm a bit deaf (screw you pollen season). But where is this being transcribed? I strongly suspect that even if it's done phone side Google will send a recording and the text output to home base for "training" purposes.

Miss: As a reader, writing subs like writingprompts, hfy, etc.

Don't miss: Spez, csam

Taking a full breath of air before chugging liquids. I accidentally exhaled before choking on some water once, body naturally tried to pull in air and got more water. Very much felt like drowning.

Really wanted to get some of the Travel pro brand. Sadly, despite seeing it all the time with crew, it doesn't meet our size requirements as passengers.

The images of menus from ~3 years ago have prices that line up with the average monthly wages. The recent photos of menus have the prices blanked out.

The "new" price of ~850 TRY for a single serving is over 25% of the average monthly wages (2900-3200). The site providing wages doesn't specify if that's the average earnings before or after tax either. Prices on older menus are more like ~50 TRY for the same item.

Also vitamin K. Had low vit D blood work and doc upped vit D intake until we started to see side effects, still low on blood work. Added vit K, halved vit D intake and blood work is good now.

If I had the money I'd want to try staffing it with cult deprogramming specialists. It would be an interesting experiment to track.

+1 for @ickplant@lemmy.world, they are the primary poster in all of the niche subs I creep.

without a rocket as a rocket

All I can think of is #JeChieDansLaSeineLe23Juin. Still impressed someone created a site to coordinate all of it arriving together.

Honestly I assumed they were pushing this simply to drag out the proceedings. That would force the widower into a position where they couldn't afford to continue, ensuring they would take whatever NDA Disney offered for whatever amount.

I thought Philip DeFranco was independent? Wikipedia shows Rogue Rocket for his show?

After searching: The Roost is a podcast company but the page for Night lists them as acquiring the show. Podcast and YouTube show with the same name?

Happy to see something done at least. Annoyed knowing they were likely accused, and investigated due to their skin colour. As per some family there, you absolutely do not go certain places without a white friend or friends. If you're going out by yourself you do it on crowded days and make sure you're seen on security cameras and make note of where and when. That way when you get accused, because you will be, you're covered.

For context they were born and raised in Switzerland, one of their parents was as well. The other parent moved there from North America and has since become a Swiss citizen about 40 years ago. The parent that moved is a visible minority and continues to have an adventure of a time.

Thanks for the correction! The site I was using was a site for English speakers considering moving to Turkey. It was difficult to verify with my lacking language skills.

The 850₺ was the average cost I could find while poking about restaurant listing in Istanbul so I was likely getting touristy places. It was very difficult to find a place with prices on their recent menu photos or websites as well. I suspect the places I was finding were more upscale/touristy than local.

I'll have to see if they have an international site. Checked today and their smallest option is still a bit too big. Might get one anyway as it seems all the luggage recommended for the airline are all a bit too big in at least one direction. We have one of the stricter airlines for baggage size.

Thank you though!

I miss when they had good hardware for a reasonable price. Some of my cheap original Logitech laser mice are still going, almost 2 decades later. Obviously not super heavy use as the switches have not worn out, but they've been shifted about the house as other mice break. So certainly not 0 use either.

The tasks have been things like our old media centre mouse died, the old Logi mouse "temporarily" replaced it until we replaced the media centre. It's not been unused any longer than a few months at a time.

We tried buying some recently but the new ones are all optical so they had shit performance and died after maybe 3 months of light use.

I would be trying to encourage chanting of pedophile.

None of the online places even accepted my prescription last time I looked. Mine are about $800 for the lenses during a sale. They generally give me the frames for free when they see the cost of the lenses.

Insurance covers $200 every 2 years.
