Fedora.

I can highly recommend fedora to a newbie. It's easier to use than ubuntu. It doesn't come with snaps. You only need one or two methods of installing apps. It's safe. It's well written. It's supported very well. It's updated frequently. It incorporates innovative technology.

Opensuse and EndeaverOS are also very nice.

Once you want to bulk edit on the go, use "every door". "SC" or "SCEE" (feature richer SC) aren't designed to update a large area quickly. (Check out each app when you become a serious mapper or want to make a real difference. Knowing the osm tools (and josm ofc) is highly important for efficiency.

That's really nice! Thank you for your service!

A normal person should not have to deal with different distros. The difference in many distros is so small, people don't even notice. People care about the desktop environment. I started with ubuntu and if ubuntu wouldn't have ten thousand different ways of installing apps, and oftentimes you have to use the method the dev chose, I wouldn't have distro hopped until I got to fedora. Fedora is amazing but a normal end user who browses the web won't notice a big difference between the systems.

To run linux on a banana, you have to adapt it. To run macos on a banana, you have to crack it and fiddle around and get a psychiatrist and work on it full time. Linux makes it easier for you. Apple forbids you to install it on a banana. Fuck apple.

Where did you get that the T stands for Tyrannosaurus? 😂

It looks like a T, that's why it's called T shirt, imo, no source either.

Yes, not only do I map, I show it to friends and how useful it is to me in specific situations. Bing and apple use osm data just like tomtom or many governments and many apps.

To me, spreading the word is more important than mapping. But I have to map in order to show how good it is. Moreover, it forces me to go out and hike and bike. That's awesome!

I had to make a full overhaul of my area but now it's awesome. I couldn't have done it without others, thank you guys as well!

You may apply for wot (world of tomorrow) here

All other public facing private trackers have such an application procedure. Just apply with a good record from somewhere else. If you get access to a tracker where you don't like the content, take it as a stepping stone to get into a better tracker. Work your way up. It doesn't take too much. Easiest is to get a server to seed 24/7 . You also don't want to be in every tracker. It's just not neccessary.

There's geddit

I'm on pixel 6 and it doesn't work with logged in aurora store.

Edit: it works now!

You can just install an addon for that but it'd be great if that would come with ff, I agree.

Like sidebery? Just install one you like from the addons

Maybe it needs a rebranding. If people have heard of linux, they think it's for devs, IT nerds, too complicated, etc. Most of the people just have never heard of linux because they don't look out for it. Most people don't know what FOSS is, etc. People just don't know that their OS is spying on them. Chromeos is linux, it's in every store. Linux made it. Gnu didn't.

For which purpose? As feature rich as gmaps? Nope.

Thank you!

Strange that I didn't find it on 1337
