Fucking hell Lemmy is full of people who only read headlines. Worse here then Reddit.

Twitter’s verification policy temporarily removes verification from accounts that change profile pictures, which the UAW did in conjunction with the walkout.

Do we know where the sales mostly came from?

Random speculation: Could be banks needing to pull out of the market due to the Fed signaling September rate cuts due to the higher-than-expected unemployment report. This will cause a drop in yield for savings, which would cause people to reduce what they have in those accounts.

Nah, you can put it down at any time. Your life I mean, not Factorio.

Meanwhile in reality:

Texas is 1st in the nation in renewables (thanks Obama).

3000Mw battery storage averted this emergency, and there’s a ton more of that on the way (thanks Biden).

I’m a homeowner and I support this message. Couldn’t afford the house I live in today and we only bought it 4 years ago.

Germany could have disavowed the Zimmerman Telegram and avoided or postponed the U.S. entering The Great War, but they fucking owned that shit.

I recently had to replace my Mac and was not at all happy with the ridiculous 8GB default. Ended up getting my first Windows machine in 10+ years. Same for my sis, she really wanted a Mac but work was only going to shell out $1500. You can get a helluva Windows machine for $1500 (64GB of RAM and 2TB HD). Sure it may not be “Retina” or have an insane color profile, but like great TVs, most people can’t tell unless they’re right next to a superior one.

Relax, we still haven’t seen a ton of assassinations yet

Eh the software handled all that. Rounded corners tho…

We’re so fucked if these are the best candidates our parties can put forward.

Gotta imagine there are a few more surprises in store for the convention.

I’ve worked with a few PMs over my 12 year career that think devs are really only there to code like trained monkeys.

I didn’t say it wasn’t a terrible situation. I truthfully answered the OPs question that it’s not Article 48 as there are still opportunities for review by the other branches of government.

Avoid carbs and drink more water.

Guy shouts “welcome to the world of tomorrow” from Futurama EP 1 when Fry gets unfrozen.

Could have been an image with a caption.

I also gave Outer Wilds a try and don’t think it stood up to the hype. Got through probably 95% of the story and then gave up on it, there were two “puzzles” that I just couldn’t figure out. Ended up reading a walkthrough and was not sad at all that I put it down.

Go away. ‘Baten.

Right. All I remember from the marketing material, even the bespoke website, was an image of a Sentinel. Seeing that was enough for me to avoid all reviews, but I did visit that website a few more times and still had no idea what the movie was about. Saw it opening night. Actually I was a bit disappointed by the premise, seemed very derivative. Still a great movie tho.

The first casualty of war is truth

Winston Churchill ,or someone, maybe

A career is also about building and maintaining professional relationships. Keep in touch with former colleagues. Avoid burning bridges. Carefully choose which hills to die on.

These actions were already possible. Nothing has been granted that wasn’t already there, but now we know a president can’t be sued/charged for official acts after they leave office. And it appears the burden of proof is, as always, up to the prosecutors to prove. So, once again, the courts will have to establish precedence over what they consider to be official and unofficial.

Hey pretty, don’t you wanna take a ride with me 🎶

My favorite is https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umayyad_Mosque. It’s been a holy place under various religions since the Iron Age.

I am in Phoenix and just took one to the airport. First time riding in a Waymo. It was uncannily good and much more confident than the FSD Tesla I’ve ridden in a few times.

This sounds like the status quo that existed before this ruling. Any president could plead the 5th to avoid answering questions about their motive.

Only some fundamentalists believe that Genesis is literal. And not just Christians.

This is the hidden-variables hypothesis and specific tests were made to check for it. See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell%27s_theorem

I drove a Dodge Shadow with a Mitsubishi V6 to two first places in Lemons.

You’re right. Just sad to see this being the highest rated comment on something that I really didn’t expect to have at all to do with religion.

In my experience, most of the tech layoffs have been non-devs. PMs and Designers have been the hardest hit and often their roles are being eliminated.

Which 10 states would those be? I don’t know of any state that prohibits an abortion when the life of the mother is at risk.

Wow, top voted reply. Damn Lemmy is cynical. There are many people out there doing God’s work caring for each other for no recognition, no reward. And certainly there are many folks out there too that make things look really bad, and the media loves to tell that story, but don't for a moment think that that’s every Christian.

The president’s power is still checked via judicial review and congressional impeachment.
