https://isthereanydeal.com/ is great for getting any given game at a good price. You can see where it is currently/usually cheapest, its price over time, etc. You can also set up notifications for when it drops below a certain threshold.

Then teach us. Advocate for us. Help us improve and understand.

A very large part of the problem is that the people who are knowledgeable are often the ones that bought into the whole lone wolf coder shtick.

Most junior people I work with are interested and want to learn, but between high demands, no time to do it and senior devs who focus only on their own problems - it’s very hard to know how to learn and improve.

We can and need to solve this but it requires that we work together and actually sit down to bridge the knowledge gap.

Oh, cool! I didn’t know this was already a thing. Thank you!

I’ve heard that for smaller studios it is incredibly important to get those early sales. Their margins are often very small (if they exist at all) so getting early and continued support is often vital.

I love the weekend but the very thing I love (no “musts”) is often what makes me feel like shit. So I have to against my instinct and make plans/schedule things. But then I often go overboard in that direction instead. So there’s certainly some amount of really frustrating inner conflict going on there. 😥

Yeah these games are quite story heavy so don’t start with Miles, play them in order.

Also, there’s only 3 games in the current series to my knowledge.

  1. It’ll likely get fixed unless you did something funky to your steam deck that makes it a weird edge case
  2. Steam offers refunds

How does this compare to Emudeck?

Still playing Slay The Spire and Hexcells as my “podcast games”.

Started Halls of Torment. Really cool aesthetically and some interesting boss designs. Hope it distinguishes itself more from Vampire Survivors though. Especially in having more incentives to keep playing than “numbers go up”. There are some minor story things and unique aspects of some maps that I think could really set this game apart.

Also playing Super Mario Sunshine. Honestly probably my least favorite 3D Mario to date. Besides feeling very clumsy it has some pretty sloppy level design here and there. Still a decent game, but having played Odyssey this game feels very dated.

And then everyone applauded him for his bravery?

I wonder of this will also apply to npm then. I have a package that uses private packages which requires a personal access token to be present in env. Would make for nicer DX in our case.

Can you give tips re: plantscaping and aquariums? They were some of my favorites on reddit but I’m not sure what they’re called over here.

How does the original hold up? I’ve heard good things about this game and have always been a little curious to try it.

I imagine there might be quite a few available on the PS store so don’t worry about it.

Enjoy! I’ve only played the first one but I enjoyed it enough to 100% it twice.

A couple suggestions:

  1. I’m no audio wiz but audio quality leaves something to be desired. Particularly, there are a lot of sharp “s” and some smacking sounds that I think some better equipment could improve. Might be as simple as getting a pop filter?

  2. Is there a public RSS feed anywhere? I don’t use Spotify for podcasts.

Interesting, but for some reason I found it very hard to read and get anything of substance out of the whole thing. Anyone care to help a dumb dumb out? Or is it just as fluffy as it seems?

Also, is the newsletter any good? Or is it mostly speculative non-fiction with words thrown around that don’t really amount to anything?

Don’t mistake my sarcasm for disinterest. I’m genuinely curious.

I’m not a big Marvel fan (and know next to nothing about Blade) but he was one of my favorites in Midnight Suns (which is awesome) so I’m definitely looking forward to this.

May be hit or miss but Moving Out (1 or 2) is a lot of fun. You spend most of your time failing to do anything and just laughing about how goofy it is.

Honestly couldn’t care less. But if that means more Jak & Daxter games then go ahead.

Thanks for summing it up! I get the point of the article a bit more clearly now.

I wonder if “AI engineer” isn’t kind of superfluous in that case? It’s essentially just the new normal for software developers/engineers. Another API or tool to interact with to produce whatever product we’re building. Where does the specialist competencies come in, besides having a more intimate knowledge of the APIs and basic understand of how this tech works?

Is nitter some sort of twitter proxy? I can’t access it, can you post the canonical url?

Thanks!

What a silly thing to be mad about. Games have had regional differences since forever. Seems like the bigger outrage is the presence of a jiggle physics button to begin with.

I read it. Congratulations! 🥳

Looks pretty cool! If they get the feeling of the combat right I can see this being a lot of fun. Particularly like their take on the Zelda-esque parallel shadow world.

It will be all right. I have been in a similar and made it out fine. Take a deep breath, step back and try to look at the big picture.

  1. What are the immediate problems? How big are they really (what is the worst that could feasibly happen, is it really as bad as you think it is, vocalize them)? Filter out the things that aren’t actually a big deal, prioritize the rest and work on them one at a time. No more, no less.

  2. Make it a priority to get yourself a diagnosis and a treatment plan. If your current psychiatrist won’t help you, look for another one.

  3. Don’t worry about the big picture stuff right now. You’re not in the right headspace to make any big decisions. If you can put your studies on pause I would advice you to do so until things have calmed down. Make sure you have something going on though that keeps you active and occupied without being stressful or taking over.

Looking forward to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC. Probably the game that made the choice between PS5 and PC the most difficult for me. Just gonna hold off to see if it’s a decent port first.

I like the looks of it but is that actually how it sounds? I found it hard to even get through the video with the baby-voiced children screaming.

Why? Considering how much design freedom Marvel allowed the devs with Midnight Suns I don’t see why it couldn’t be. What parts of the immersive sim genre do you think can’t be done in a mainstream game?

Better display, better form factor/ergonomics.

Not sure this is an ADHD thing but what will happen to me is I’ll be in a flow state, working on something, and feeling that my attention is about to run out while struggling to solve a particular problem. It’s incredibly stressful and annoying to know I have like 10 minutes tops or I’ll be stuck on this problem for a week (because God forbid I break it down into small enough chunks where it’ll be easy to pick back up tomorrow).

What I’m saying is that unlike other PCs the steam deck has very few varying factors (out of the box). Meaning, if it works for others, it is likely it could work for you.

I’m not saying anything or anyone is infallible. In fact, I just had a look at proton DB and there are certainly plenty other people with similar problems.

These are good news because Larian has a reputation for supporting and improving their games long after release. These kinks will get ironed out.

And again, if you don’t wish to be an early adopter (which is completely fine), refund it.

You do you, friend. I’m not trying to defend anything, just trying to help you out.

If you want to go on a crusade against anti-consumer practices or whatever then requesting a refund seems like the first step.

In short:

🤷‍♂️

Ok. I’ve never heard of nor played that game. Which is why I’m asking.
