It definitely was a rough start. Mastodon was already a bit more mature and the app ecosystem was way more vibrant. However I discovered the wefwef PWA and since it’s almost an Apollo clone it feels like home.

I’m using the beta of Memmy for Lemmy (ios). It hasn’t been released yet, but it’s already stable, even though there’s work to do for what concern the UI and some features. I appreciate it because being new to Lemmy, it makes things a but more approachable.

That’s great for privacy because there are other things to control other than browser tabs and some devices don’t support ad blockers at all, however modern websites need an extension that can deal with them using ad hoc rules. In the best case blocking ads through DNS will leave you with blank spaces in the page, in the worst pages are completely broken. Also, There are unpleasant popups that is just nice to hide.

Paired with the Foxytab plugin to automatically open websites in specific containers or restrict containers to a list of websites. Firefox also has profiles, and a simple extension (with a tiny thing to install in your PC) makes them as easy to use as they’re on Chrome

Wouldn’t normally be a problem and it is not a problem at all since it will be ActivityPub compatible.
