Aight, I mean sure. It was wrong, but 5 years? I understand that not all judges sentence in the same way but 5 years? Insurrection gets basically gets butt pats and this guy gets 5 years?

Bruh, have you never met a child? Hate is one of the first things kids learn.

Y'all is not Texan. Y'all is Southern and Texas is Southern wannabe.

Yeah I have to agree with everyone else. If this is a question you're actually asking, it's probably a question for your doctor, because the actual answer should just be "just breathe dude"

When she disputed the file with credit bureaus, parts were removed simply because certain creditors had gone out of business. Others, however, didn’t get scrubbed from her history until they aged off—which typically takes around seven years.

Turns out not so much

First off, it's more like 7:30-3:30 not counting homework and projects after school, second: fuck you man.

Aight let's see. Mortgage is a fixed rate over an agreed upon term that ends with you owning the property, rent increases every year, you have no control over the property and you get fucked constantly.

Yup, totally the same thing.

Also my mortgage for my 1/2 acre property with 1500 sqft house is $50 less per month than my 900 sqft poorly constructed "high end" apartment rent was about to spike up to. You know, after renters protections were removed during the pandemic.

Quick edit: furthermore, it took me until I was 30 to buy a house. In that time I spent 170k in rent, when I started renting the property I'm currently living in was worth 140k. That's pretty easy math right there. Just like... Come on.

WRT the wall at least:

Hamas's goal from securing power in 2007 has been rejecting the two state solution and destroying Israel leading to many many attacks since then so, maybe securing the border isn't an insane idea? I mean, fuck all good the wall did recently but still.

Hamas doesn't control the supply of food, water, and goods into Gaza. Israel does.

Slightly amend that one, Egypt also supports the blockade. That being said, it's not the fault of all the civilians in Gaza that people voted in 2007 to let a terrorist organization take over and things went poorly because of it. This blockade needs to end. Humanitarian aid needs to be able to get to Gaza.

Even worse, let's say you are having a weather based emergency like what happened in Texas last winter... And the winter before and will probably happen again this winter... You've hooked up your vehicle as an emergency generator. But you can't turn it on because of this sensor.

You're not even trying to drive, you're just trying to get some power to your HVAC system so you don't freeze to death.

Sure, that's just one example and it doesn't happen every day, but this thing could prevent successful outcomes in multiple emergency situations.

We're better off investing in proper public transit rather than this shit.

Kant had a point there, but I think he also fails to address the problem.

The existence of charitable organizations means that the government has failed that group of people. Charitable organizations are extremely inefficient and sometimes are prone to the exact problems he brings up with donating directly to individuals, or they may prioritize certain individuals with certain religious beliefs over others.

Charitable organizations need to be folded and replaced with government programs. We don't need to be paying CEOs salaries when we're just trying to help someone on the street.

Good fucking luck with that though. Voting blue is the only way to do that, but Democrats largely are not motivating younger voters. Republicans with their scare tactics and xenophobia and racism, really fire up their base, the best Democrats really do is "hey, we're not that" which I mean... Good, but they don't fire up people to vote.

It's not larping when you're actually military.

But that brings up a big point. He was military. Support the troops and give them mental healthcare. Also screen them, he should not have still been in the reserves.

HOAs have excessive rights especially newer ones and this is probably actually legal. The city likely owns none of it btw.

HOAs are a blight on American home ownership, John Oliver did a segment on it, but new HOA contracts are crazy if you haven't had a peek at one.

IMO, the best distro is going to be whatever you're most comfortable with (given it's still getting updates blah blah blah). Some might be easier in the get go but if they do wonky things (compared to what you're used to) an update might really screw you up and leave you in a situation where you're doing a lot of research.

For the most part, you can make any distro do whatever you want, but if you understand one much better than the rest, use that.

and lost a lot of weight.

I like that you included value beyond just immediate monetary

Even you're conflating what the Israeli government is doing with all Israelis

Thick bezels are great for actual comfortable usage, but they don't look sexy so they're no more

I got into a huge argument with that fuck, ended up blocking them because I just couldn't deal with the sheer Hamas ball gargling/anti-Semitism/general racism they espoused. That user is not a good faith arguer, they'll shout racist bullshit and then call you racist for calling them out.

Okay but like, how often do I actually have to wash a hoodie?

Soooo miniclip still exists, they're just in the app store now

As far as divesting, would you be okay with not necessarily liquidating but moving investments into a 3rd party holder?

Basically like "okay this is what you had in an investment fund, now a third party (for sake of argument fidelity) takes over the fund and now fidelity advisers manage it in its entirety until the person is no longer a representative.

The question really being, what kind of divesting do you want? Because straight liquidation could still negatively impact younger candidates, given that the liquidation would remove potential legitimate interest from their portfolio. Meaning that them running could negatively impact their future.

It's always cheaper to own given you live an adult life for at least like 15 years. The rub is whether or not you can afford the upfront costs to get a property.

Also you pay for maintenance and repair and taxes and all that nonsense in your rent, it's just one bill instead of multiple.

Old craftsman or new? Because if new you might not be Craftsman very long. Old craftsman tools will outlive us all and if you can find them at a garage sale, buy em.

New craftsman tools are pretty much just junk.

pacman in my opinion is the easiest package manager ive used but even so if it is that difficult then they can use a GUI package manager that would come pre installed on most GUI arch based distros

Recognizing that's your opinion, in my opinion it's the hardest I've used. The commands are all flags, so you have to remember letters instead of "install" or "upgrade" if you want to use any packages outside of the like 4 in the official repos, you have to enable AUR, which is effectively just installing from source from some random person's GitHub repo, in which any number of things can go wrong. I mean, there's a reason there exist a bunch of different wrappers for pacman.

You're like... The only one talking about taxis, everyone else is talking about worker protection

Most sane discourse I've seen on the Internet so far.

To what end? Should we not publish studies that require additional research? If we don't publish those how will others in the field know to investigate certain areas?

I mean, if you honestly don't want things published until we know all the facts, then science and research will honestly grind to a halt.

That's how this shit works ... Small, iterative steps. It's slow, it's not sexy, but it's worked for thousands of years.

I don't support a ban like this, but I also don't find the judges reasoning convincing

"Additionally, there are many ways in which a foreign adversary, like China, could gather data from Montanans," including purchasing it from data brokers, open-source intelligence gathering, and hacking, Molloy pointed out. "Thus, it is not clear how SB 419 will alleviate the potential harm of protecting Montanans from China's purported evils."

Because the law in question is for consumer protection, for the sake of the argument we have to assume for the sake of the lawsuit, that tiktok is as bad as they say.

There's a fundamental difference between the Chinese government spending huge amounts of money to try to hack into both Apple and Google (who both have impressive security measures) to get your citizens data and those citizens paying the Chinese government to unknowingly collect that data.

Like, I think the judge ended up at the right answer, but got there in an irresponsible manner.

Yes, yes it is. To be fair, what do you think soda is though?

Not bin laden, no. Definitely not.

Yeah, the Israeli citizenship fucking hates the guy. His admin also pulled IDF troops away from the Gazan border prior to the attack even though some of the IDF officers warned of an impending attack.

Fuck that guy and his insane administration.

To be fair, I live in a low cost of living area and having purchased a house this past January, if I dropped to 130k I might be paycheck to paycheck after a while. Which, granted is lower than the survey.

This being said, my mortgage payment is only $50 more than what my rent was about to increase to, because landlords are the devil.

I also didn't get a big house, it was well under the national average for cost and size, very much a "starter house". But still over 300k, because housing is a nightmare.
