Shout out to Firefox and Librewolf
Why are they shut down?
I think I read somewhere a while ago that Docker is only really "native" on Linux, because on Mac and Windows it spawns some internal virtual machine or something like that. Not sure if i remember it correctly but that would probably be a reason for worse performance i guess.
I love the yt-dlp fork.
I am trying to lower my use of Reddit and increase my use of Lemmy.
One thing I would really like to be accepted (since its already in the proposals on Github) is to have multiple communities that have same topic somehow be joined and their news aggregated together.
Definitely
Xonotic, if you like very fast paced shooters.
Same, downloaded StreetComplete few days ago and it's really fun to solve quests and map things all at once :)
I have been having this problem 2 days ago, but I have started using NoScript in combination with UBlock Origin yesterday and i didn't see any ads after that.
Is this a more private way of browsing the internet than something like a hardened Firefox or Librewolf?
No problem. You can use extensions like LibRedirect in order to make it automatically change SO to this one.
Look into OpenStreetMaps site for desktop PCs, and pick one of many android apps for the mobile phones that use OSM (i prefer osmAnd, it has a free premium version on F-droid software store) and you won't be needing to send all your location data to Google ever again.
Don't give up.
In this world, the only thing we truly own is the body we shape everyday
I know, I said that, but thank you for providing a link. I hope it gets implemented.
You can have actual Pacman emoji for the progress :)
I am also genuinely interested in further explanation of this view.
I am also in that basket. To me Usenet seems like another, older protocol that achieves practically the same thing. If someone is more knowledgeble, feel free to correct me or explain further.
Great app that I practically use every day.
Same, maybe even longer in my case.
When exactly did the Nvidia say thay they will have support for Wayland before the end of this year? Can you provide a link so I can read about it?
I agree
I have my status bar on both monitors by default on Hyprland.
I don't really undeestand from this mail how is it not open source, but I am not well versed in licenses and technicalities either.
Any signs of Nvidia implementing this?
I will try it out tomorrow, thanks!
Sorry for the late reply, look for ILoveCandy option in the config.
I really like using code.whatever.social as an alternative frontend to Stack Overflow. It has way less distractions and allows me to only look at the question and the answers and nothing else.
