So odd that the open source platform that allows sideloading and doesn't even come with an app store by default is the one that is a monopoly but the locked down one with total control over your device is not.

Some Android flavors even come with other app stores. Samsung phones have their own Samsung app store that even includes Fortnite.

I've always felt like most people lack problem solving skills. Nobody knows how to use Google or just figure things out themselves. Friends often call me for tech support but it's often very basic things like how to plug in an HDMI cable or how to fix an error that says how to fix it in the error code.

I work tech support too and deal with behavior like this daily. 90% of what I do is simple things that can be found on the first Google result. People open tickets asking how to unmute their microphone in Teams, it's ridiculous.

I really hope OP goes through with the lawsuit because of how funny it is. I want to see it make big news

the amount of coments I've seen that simply go something like "isnt it amazing that x creator is out here entertaining/educating us for free" is huge. once i saw one video where nearly every comment was like that.

I actually have a Steam collection for this. It's mostly games I play when I have a handful of friends over. My favorites in the collection are:

  • Boomerang Fu
  • Duck Game
  • Heave Ho
  • Human Fall Flat
  • Jackbox Mega Picker
  • Keep Talking and and Nobody explodes
  • Party Animals
  • Pummel Party
  • Overcooked 2
  • Screen Cheat

Onion sites get DDOS attacks constantly. That's why Dread has so many backup links.

But now it's native! :D

Vinland Saga taught me that being kind makes me a stronger man and having no hate for anyone, even those who have wronged me will make me a happier person.

It definitely did make a very big impact on many people, and it's where all the "i have no enemies" memes originate from. But I do wish It had an even larger impact than it did as it's an answer to the constant fighting and arguments that has taken over many of our lives.

Maybe if the entire medical industry wasn't already shady and deplorable enough we wouldn't have these vaccine skeptics. The biden administration needs to focus on fixing the medical industry if they want these people to trust it.

what does this even mean

I've installed ZorinOS on a non tech savvy friends computer so she could get more life out of her old laptop and she was fine without using any terminal

Use a bidet

The announcement was made in the Discord

That Isayama (creator of Attack on Titan) has been planning for the anime to be a sequel to the manga rather than an adaptation of it.

There's a lot of evidence to support this but the one piece that kind of kicked off the theory is the fact that Attack on Titan copied a lot from a game called Muv-Luv. The ending of Muv-Luv 2 is even nearly identical to the ending of Attack on Titan. In Muv-Luv 3, they introduced multiple timelines and it had a different ending. So if Isayama can copy and ending once he can probably do it twice.

its from the lady who made bloodeborn psx so it's gotta be good

Kung Fury has a sequel and it's been finished for several years, I'm just suprised the damn movie hasn't released yet. They were suing some company because they were owed money by them but that's settled now and we have no word as to why it's not out yet.

And unfortunately OSM can be incomplete in many small cities and rural areas :(

I recommend StreetComplete to anyone that wants to help complete OSM in their local areas.

It's an immutable distro that simplifies running Android apps and containers for software from other distributions. It uses it's own tool for immutability called ABRoot that also allows you to safely install native packages when needed.

I was actually using Celluloid before but videos were not playing until I used the commands you gave. Gnome videos is now crashing but I don't care as much since Celluloid is now working

Bottles makes using Wine real simple.

Privacy and security through custom ROMs like CalyxOS and GrapheneOS, which are the number one reason why I use Android. However, the average person doesn't necessarily care about their digital privacy or security.

As for reasons to use Android that the average person may care about, there is a greater variety of device options to choose from when it comes to Android. Many different companies produce Android devices, including eco-friendly options like the FairPhone!

In addition, another advantage of using Android is the ability to side-load apps. I can easily install and use apps that are not available on the Google Play store, such as Thunder, my Lemmy client, which I use daily. Moreover, even if an app is not available in my region on the Play store, I can still use it by side-loading.

Another feature I appreciate is the direct access to internal storage through a USB cable, eliminating the need for any additional software. For managing my apps, Shelter is a must-have for me. It allows me to separate my personal apps from my work apps without creating a completely separate device profile, and I can easily disable the work apps whenever needed so I don't receive notifications.

You can even use iMessage on Android via apps like BlueBubbles or AirMessage. Even FaceTime works on Android, natively so long as an iPhone user sends you a link first.

In India nobody texts on anything but WhatsApp and in Puerto Rico no buisiness has a website it's all just Facebook pages. I am a huge privacy advocate but unfortunately I still depend on terrible tech due to the stubbornness of society.

Unless they changed it, the other one is Battle eye which also has Linux support

I modified the installer for GeforceNow so It wouldn't require any admin rights to be installed. I was playing a lot of Overwatch during class after that.

Funny enough, Apple Maps uses some OSM data

My problem with odysee is that it's blockchain based and content is impossible to delete, they can only delist it. It's not foss, but Rumble has been getting more content that isn't right-wing comentary and politics.

It's the only platform at the moment that I think could ever surpass YouTube only because creators can make money off it through ads very easily. I would like to see an open source platform like Peertube to be bigger but unless they can find a way to monetize it and give creators a cut, I don't think it is likely.

Not encrypted

already have it

its a feature in android now to only allow apps to access certain files

Piracy IS most definitely a service problem. I bought the Scott Pilgrim game on Steam and had terrible performance and frequent crashes from Denuvo. I pirated the game and it runs completely fine now. You are often paying for a worse experience when you don't pirate.

If you want to learn the terminal there's a game called Hack Net that teaches you command line. IMO if you pick a distro like Ubuntu, Pop, Zorin or Vanilla you don't need the terminal tho

not enough

i still browse it sometimes when researching something but i use libreddit (when it works) and have yet to interact with anything including posts, comments, or upvotes
