Because the alternative is a brossiere.

Here's a great podcast episode about the design competition and fraught construction of the Sydney Opera House. https://www.pushkin.fm/podcasts/cautionary-tales/a-chorus-of-contempt-at-the-sydney-opera-house

It has also been featured in Star Trek as a hat.

My new bestie right here.

You sound like us. We have a few weeks blocked off but no plans yet.

Maybe KJU sees this as a way not to have to use NK's limited food on the soldiers? We know they get more/better food than the regular populace to help prevent coups.

Hey, we've all been there.

I didn't know Concerned Ape ever had help.

What a surprise! The other well known stainless steel car, the Delorean DMC-12, is FAMOUS for being a huge pain in the ass to work on. Dents and dings are tremendous problems, and stainless steel is super heavy.

This is a fantastic picture and a great fit for the sub. Sorry, community.

I'm kind of tired of movie stars taking all the VO jobs. We don't benefit from having these characters share a voice with spiderman and starlord.

That's lemmynsfw.com

His campaign said he bought a Glock handgun while in South Carolina, but when it was pointed out that it would be illegal for him to have bought a gun while under federal charges, and to take the gun out of SC, his staff walked back the claim.

I have heard that very often. I wonder if bikes are harder to track down than other property for some reason.

It's a platform for playing and creating video games. The stated intent was for kids to make games for kids, but as soon as game creators could make real money from it, professional devs took over. The in game currency is called robux, and it seems like every game is littered with buttons to get a higher jump or faster car or whatever for a few dollars' worth.

Because young kids are not savvy consumers, the platform is chock full of identical games with the same name and logo hoping to steal players stay from whichever game is on trend at the moment.

There are certainly some games in there worth playing, but it's a very small minority.

It really does. If I didn't manage it, I would be exactly like this except the drinking.

Nope, it's classic ad breaks, but since the shows weren't made expecting them the ads just appear suddenly every X minutes instead.

It's also possible that she just asked IT to buy her the fastest laptop they could find. I choose to believe that she's 4th ranked in the world in Destiny 2, though.

I just did red cross CPR and AED training last week, and the materials said the clothes all need to come off (or pulled up or whatever - off the chest) but chest hair doesn't need to be shaved. Presumably the instructions change periodically.

This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I'm sick, and I might die from laughing.

I mean, here, for one place.

Anyone missing the joke here: Francis Scott Key wrote the poem that became the national anthem.

For me, the worst thing about April Fool's day is that Think Geek shut down in...2019? They always had a great joke products on the front page, and every once in a while they'd actually make and sell some of them.

I can't believe you made me watch it at. 25x speed.

AND NONE OF THE SOULS WERE REFRIGERATED!

Circumcision is still practice in many countries. What a tragedy it affected Goofy so late in life.

The part that most amused me was that those gorgeous subways were built by the Soviets.

I've put a ridiculous number of hours into Ship Graveyard Simulator 2. Why am I, a white collar guy from a developed country, spending hours pretending to be a Sri Lankan with one of the worst jobs in the world? It's bizarre when you think about it.

I get Consumer Reports free through my library. You may too!

That sounds pretty damn scary. What did you do about it?

But like, a loooooooooong jacket.

I wore a black kilt to a club once with my friends. One guy was very interested and put his hand on my leg which I did NOT consent to or appreciate. A skirt isn't an invitation.

I didn't even look good, I guess he just liked knees.

You do! Duncan Lawrence (Netherlands - Arcade) Rosa Lynn (Ireland - Snap) and MÃ¥neskin (Italy - cover of Beggin') are in regular play in the US.

Those are from the last two or three years. Remember that many songs are in their native language, so they're not likely to hit over in the Anglophone world.

Historically you can't ignore Celine Dion and Abba.

Anyone curious and not in the know:

This is the station information screen in a Washington D.C. Metro (subway) station.

First column is Line, blue, blue, orange.

Car is how long the train is. (This one is pretty obvious)

Destinations are Foggy Bottom, Largo, and New Carrollton.

Last column is how many minutes until the train arrives and the floor lights start blinking.

The DC Metro is great, and it hardly ever catches on fire.
