Just installed via Octopi. Nice design

Not trying to be rude here, but it does say "by EFF technologists" when installing the extension. Also their welcome page for the extension after installing it, states "" A project of the EFF".

I hope these things are read beforehand and just not skipped, ignored or just installed quickly before taking some time to look around / researched.

Top two for me are Freetube and KDE Connect.

Sharing files (and all the other features) with KDE Connect across 2 devices on same network has never been so easier.

Theres two -

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" - Dr. Seuss

And a recent one - "Your life starts where your comfort zone ends"

Could look into Oni - One of Bungie's first game

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oni_(video_game)

Yup!

I have switched from Google Maps to Here we go for years now and been loving it

Just switched to EndeavourOS about a week ago from Manjaro and been liking it so far.

Biggest reason for the change was my manjaro install was getting cluttered, and moving over to a new distro ( taking all my previous knowledgement with it) has been a blessing.

Beforehand, my Manjaro install was EFI, whereas my Windows 11 drive ( yes I know) was UEFI so switching on boot was an issue. Now both are on UEFI and show up within Grub.

Endeavor OS has bluetooth turned off by default. Thought there was an issue but nope.

So from no issues with updating, even with AUR turned on.

I just like starting fresh and setting things up with all my previous knowledge.

Been using it on my Oneplus 6t and been liking it so far

Next to KDEconnect, I freaking love Freetube. Just a nice application

Been using this for the last couple months. Works great with Gadgetbridge / Pinetime watch

Oneplus 6t. Still use it today, in fact typing this comment on it. Been great with custom Roms, has Android 13 on it with newest security updates installed (November 2023). Cost me $75. People look at me weirdd when i say that.

Haven't heard about the game "Hexen" in years!!!

Not sure if its untrustworthly or not, but switched over to Startpage and been liking the results. Just wished it would implement the !bang system from ddg

www.startpage.com

I mean, can't you do this with any AI?

I liked and used Deezer until they rebranded. I can't get over the new look. Switched over to Tidal

You're right - could have sworn that they used it. NIffy website i did just found was https://osm-apps.zottelig.ch/ that points out the different variety of OSM. On a side note, I have switched over to /e/OS on my main cellphone and it uses Magic Earth, which def uses OSM.

Thanks for the clarify check -

Was that before or after going to the bank, laughing?

Hamigrated here about 2 weeks ago. Have to agree about the point of people not learning the ins and outs of what makes the fediverse.

Me being a nerd, loved the introduction and for couple nights, just soaked in all the information regarding the fediverse and have actually joined other instances within. Tops off to RadioFree. Been using it daily now.

Felt like others were joining the fediverse because of motivation. Motivation to learn and adopt the technology. For most, they don't care at all about it

Have you tried Only Office? Recently discovered the application and kinda like it more than LibreOffice

Weird issue with VLC / Manjaro lately as it just wouldnt play any file. Opens and just closes. Just tried out mpv.io. Worked like a charm. Thanks!

May I suggest freetube?

Desktop client that emulates having a YouTube subscription / account. Sponserblock can be turned on. Can add channels, have a feed of videos, watched videos disappear when watched, etc.

Agreed. Also from a Tech support POV, there is no "standard" OS and troubleshooting the vast different environments would be a pain. With Windows, you have a standard layout, with couple different versions - Home / Pro / Enterprise. With linux, you have different syntax, differnt DE's, etc. Still use Linux at home / work but i am interested in it. Got to have that motivation to do so.

Same thing with moving to Lemmy, gotta have that motivation to make the change.

Switching to a new browser was mentally painful?

Same similar story but was running Manjaro beforehand. Liking EndeavourOS so for as well!

Did have a Grub issue but after a day of what I call "constructive troubleshooting / learning", was able to rescue my installation.

Just got to have the drive to learn sometimes

YES!!!!!! So glad there are VAST fan out there

Breezy will send the temp to GadgetBridge and then over to the pinetime watch.

Yes, current firmware 1.14 "released" the weather functionality. Displays an icon depending on the weather type and the temp

Been using /e/OS on a OnePlus 6T for the last ~2 years and love it. The built-in ad tracker blocker works well. GoS works for the best part and if it doesnt, heading over to the website usually works.

Interesting!

Never heard of Ferdium before. Just grabbed the AppImage of it and seems like something i can use. Thanks!

Project /e/OS (Custom Android Rom) maintains their own version built into the Rom. Funny how I didnt know this and when I downloaded QKSMS just now, I was like "This looks oddly familiar"

https://community.e.foundation/t/is-qksms-still-used-in-e-os/52655

Been running /e/os on Oneplus 6T and it's been great. Built in tracker blocker is nice. Maybe a possible alternative to try

Warpinator helps with transferring files over from PC to Steam Deck. Although KDE Connect is preinstalled on the Steam Deck, Warpinator just seems to work better / more consistently

Similar story for me as well. Using RiF, the built in tracker for my phone dropped immediately after June 30th.

New Outlook is just the old Windows Mail application reskinned. The fact that you can have both Outlook and NEW Outlook installed at the same time is weird. Working in IT, its one thing I check when working with end users.

Micro center carries soundcore products. Where I bought my current P2-L headphones, couple years back.

Could give Mull Browser a try? Its a fork of Firefox, but without any of the telemetry.

Also, browseraudit.com is a nice online tester that tests browsers in an array of things.

What's wrong with just using the web for apps that don't work. Most sites these days are designed for mobile screens nowadays. I typically use the web for my bank and there's no issues. Just got to know your password. Same thing for Facebook.

I use /e/is and I like it. Having a built in tracker blocker is nice.

I would rather switch to Linux then miss playing two games.(I understand there's more games that don't work under Linux, but you understand my point). Also theres plenty of games out there.

But that's just me.

Would like to see some sources if you got them. Currently use /e/os and would like to do more research.
