No they don't. What a rubbish clickbait article.

All they say is that there's a (niche) trend of a few people using feature phones with expected combined sales of $2.8 million. Versus the $200 billions of iPhones alone.

dark reader. It’s not perfect but I get most sites in a usable dark mode.

That’s mostly it.

The same company that shamed Apple for omitting the charging brick from the phone package (or the headphone jack) just to do so themselves shortly after?

They also made fun of Apple for the "notch" only to incorporate it in their own devices (though differently)?

So why keep this useless, failed platform in the news? Stop giving Musk publicity of any kind.

It's directly in the headline: Gen Z is ditching the iPhone. That's incorrect in two ways: A) it's at best one in fifty people buying aforementioned feature phones and B) they don't even know if all buyers replace their existing phone or buy it as an additional handset.

The original release of No Man's Sky, and Starfield.

I myself don't see them as bad games, but acknowledge the false promises, shortcomings, bugs, etc.

I see what you did there.

And even an infinite number doesn't mean all. There are infinite numbers between 0 and 1, none of them is 2. So the multiverse wouldn't have to include one that contradicts its rules.

Didn't ask for them, won't use them. WhatsApp is not Twitter, is not Insta, is not TikTok, is not [insert social media name].

Could be opportunism. Fox senses that Trump might go to prison or get barred from the election in another way, and so they either prepare endorsing a different candidate or are simply cautious.

But it's journalism by accident at best.

Man, Mark Zuckerberg's gotten old.

I think it's a fad. The moment you need a certain app or feature these feature (-less) phones become frustrating quickly.

Take the idea of taking a break from your smartphone on a vacation. You end up without a camera, without a map, without public transport apps, contact-free payment, etc.

According to this article, Samsung doesn't block that, it's just badly implemented:

https://9to5google.com/2023/07/27/galaxy-z-flip-5-google-wallet/

The headline says it’s the lowest-rated game in the series, not that Mirage is a bad game. The article bases itself on a single data point, which leaves a lot of room for interpreting. Which the author does a little.

But it’s nowhere mentioned or claimed that Mirage is a badly-reviewed game or doesn’t sell well. It’s just the lowest entry so far. And that’s what everybody should take away from that headline, followed by ignoring the hollow clickbaity article altogether.

Yeah, I didn't include my Enpass extension, as it's more like a plug-in.

I also excluded TamperMonkey because I solely use it to sell my Steam cards and become filthy rich. Already 34 cents into my first million.

And last but not least: an extension that auto-upvotes YT videos from my subscribed channels because I'm too lazy to do it manually and YT can't be bothered to assign a key to it.

SOMEBODY SET US UP THE BOMB

The latest Jurassic World film comes to my mind.

The script felt like they had a 1993 video game that had to be turned into a movie. There's not a single authentic character or memorable scene in it. All the actors are terrible, even Sam Neill. The score is as forgettable as the special effects. What else did I forget?

That's a point current generation children are actively working on by following English-speaking streamers, communicating in predominantly English Discords, etc. The worst: my kid chose to prefer American English. Where did I go wrong?

  • Being unable to open (kick in) a wooden door as a level whatnot Dragonborn because it is "locked". Looking at you Skyrim and Assassin's Creed.

  • Being unable to jump over a small hurdle or being allowed to climb only in certain situations like in Far Cry 6. Like, is this a Parcours game now or what? There's even a Parcours "armour" set.

  • Terrible inventory GUIs. AC Valhalla is one of the worst games inventory-wise. Decades ago video games did the job perfectly, there's no excuse for best practice degradation

More free OS updates? You can upgrade your PC from Windows 7 to 10 for free (even to 11 if you have TPM2). That will be decades of free updates and upgrades.

Not to mention Linux, FreeBSD, and the like.

Valhalla is a nice action game but it’s no AC game. Especially the stealth part and name-sake Assassination gameplay take up too little space. And the skill tree they copied from PoE is just ridiculously overloaded - symptomatic for Ubisoft‘s approach to the whole game: it’s so convoluted.

I really enjoyed Valhalla but as an AC entry it disappoints.

Star Wars: Outlaws. Looks really promising.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. I played through the base game twice, so I'll need a bit more distance between the playthroughs.

Starfield, but only if there are significant updates, upgrades and expansions. I finished it twice back to back, so currently I'm a little tired of the game.

Any other single-player (action) RPG, that I stumble upon.

640k ought to be enough for anyone.

Bill Gates didn't even say it. And even if one only takes the spirit out of that quote whereupon software and hardware should be planned with foresight, it's so overused.

Well at least that one came with an explicit warning: Part One.

With all respect, that's rubbish. I won't comment on this further.

I got myself a magnetic wireless charger for the nightstand. It's great.

Block them. I'm the least interested in sports and so I simply block all the related communities (except like Formula 1). Same with "subs" in a language I don't speak.

And then there are simp communities where some neckbeards post images of "females" how they use to call women.

I wanted to watch the Clarkson-Hammond-May "Top Gear". Only on BBC iPlayer. Only in the UK.

The roundabout 22 series' and specials simply do not exist outside of that. What are you supposed to do? I would have paid the BBC, but they even discourage the use of VPN's themselves.

"The Count of Monte Cristo". Not in the middle, more the beginning. But it's like my third read so I take it slow this time.

I finished Assassin's Creed Valhalla recently and it drove me up the wall all the time. I mean well over 100 h playtime.

And the game would sit there after every start and wait for me to "press any key". And only after a keypress it would start checking for Add-ons which took ages. Why couldn't it have done that already?

Plus the intro videos I had to replace with empty files because no-skip.

Annoying!

Agree. I'm playing Far Cry 6 and somehow got the feeling it's even slightly worse (more stupid) than the 5th entry.

The map is filled to the brim with NPCs and animals, yet I've rarely witnessed such a dead world. Not a single NPC has a purpose or life. Cars outside the render distance disappear from the game too: turn around and that vehicle is gone like in those 1980's video games. Turn around again: new NPC.

Finished a checkpoint / road block: your car is gone Baddies reappear in enemy areas although I just cleared it out. Such a lack of persistence is almost an offense.

Not one car that doesn't sound their horn at me because they think I'm trying to ram them off the road. Arcade games from decades ago were less dumb.

Apple started out with desktop computers. So by 'staying in their lane', they'd never made ipods, iphones, Apple silicon, earpods and airpods, the watch, etc. I think they had quite the success by diversing themselves.

Just disguise your revolution as "performance". No one will notice in time.

Benchmarks could become interesting in seven years when the Pixel 8 will still get software support. Making this big promise and starting off with this mediocre SoC is either brave or....not very foreseeing.

That's quite a bottleneck and efficiency can't tackle every software challenge from here to the year 2030.

Wasn't there already a feature or two that the "old" Pixel predecessor won't receive?

I suppose this falls under the realism category. No vendor in a "real world with fantasy elements" has infinite money and buys everything from you. And in the early game you can't fast travel everywhere. Combine this and you get a reasonable game mechanic that restricts too fast player advancement in especially the early game.

Later on you can develop a skill that lets you sell to every merchant.

The advantage - from my very incomplete understanding - is that your passkeys cannot be phished or stolen from you. So only you from your device can log-in to the site. Which leaves me with the question, how cross-device passkeys work.

Has getting nominated become something like a curse or what?

I have never met anyone else with this setup.

That's what I mean.
