I'm sure that reddit realizes it but I'll share for all of you that don't. If CGPT fills reddit with it's own comments then future AI projects won't be able to use Reddit data to train on. An AI that trains on itself or other AI data will suffer what's known as model collapse. Basically if you don't have enough variability in the training data you create an unuseable model, that will happen as CGPT fills the internet more and more with it's content. Sadly if we don't solve this problem then we likely won't get past current gen AI in terms of capabilities and scale.

I'm sure I'm wrong, but it's hard to imagine this being better quality than what we can do digitally these days.

I do not trust Whatsapp to provide the security of a signal conversation. Who wants signal and WhatsApp to talk to each other ?

I would say there are levels to pirates. Not everyone here wants or needs to be a pirate 100% of the time. Sure, everyone could download all their music but why bother if you have a streaming service that you consider cheap and you prefer streaming over storage. Like anything, they're levels to it.

Unless it's limited by hardware this will be a main cause for jailbreaking your iPhone.

The first time I grabbed a 1080 265 and it was almost half the file size of a 264 I had and the quality was visually the same, I knew I could never go back.

Finally. I've been more active over on .ml because of this. Glad you guys are reasonable and reversed the decision.

Now that is a useful website.

He is ? Awesome! If we could get a full mobile thunderbird app that would be epic.

This. People do not realize what goes into running a media server. On the fly transcoding is so resource intense. Especially when you consider you could be doing it for many different streams at a time. Then you look at storage for it all and you need a massive amount of drives to store it all. Then there's just the bandwidth necessary to run multiple stream constantly. The reason there aren't any decent competitors to YouTube is almost entirely because of the resources needed.

I believe you can do Ethernet over USB c on some devices.

It was likely just a lie. Hacker groups often make claims they cannot backup, just for clout. If they had delivered on their promise we would have heard about it by now.

I agree 100%. On Reddit you usually had the same style top few comments but under those you could actually see good conversation and discussions. Here everyone thinks they are right and you are wrong and nothing you can say can change that.

Highest ratio I ever saw was from season 2 of one punch man. Was over 500.

But how few people actually buy gold?

Definitely going to try this one out. I love a good open source email client.

Hackers gonna start carrying mirrors to cause an outage.

Once I became an adult I only take the meds on the days I work. I've never had any trouble with headaches or anything when I come off. I've been on every ADHD med available throughout the years all at the highest dosage they can give me.

You're the second person that's recommended nine so I guess I'll give it a shot. Do you know if they collect data from your emails?

I have a tuta account as well. Their app is very barebones. I support the company though as I believe in their mission.

For me it's the lack of content that is killing Lemmy. It's just not nearly as entertaining here as it was on Reddit. I know the community isn't the same size so it isn't comparable really, but it's just the same content here day after day.

As someone who just got the pixel fold, it is pointless.

I use protonmail as well. Can you create folders and set your rules for them from mobile in proton?

I second connect. It's quite good.

Preach

Anyone else notice picture quality is bad on lemmy?

This is true. I'm a bit biased as that is what I would do. I'd say most users will not even notice. I think most of us here on lemmy are tech heads though and we would be the ones who do connect our phones to PC.

My problem with Gmail is that from mobile you're limited on the features you have. You can't create filters or really set up any kind of automation for your inbox. Mobile is the main place that I interact with my personal inboxes, so having these features on mobile is important to me.

You get some great conversation on tildes

I'll give sparkmail a try. Do you happen to know if they collect data from your emails when using their app?

If you want to try Linux, try Ubuntu or mint. Those are the easiest to make an entry into.

... what buyout?

Trying to filter out all the people still bitching about reddit ?

I've seen nine recommend before. Other than syncing, are there any other features nine has that you like?

Thanks, I'll check it out

I installed it. Gonna try it out and see. You're the second person to recommend it.

They will not outlaw VPNs. Every major company uses a form of VPN to allow workers to connect remotely. No chance this will happen.

a failed desktop OS

Windows still has over 60% of desktop market share. You may not like it, but it isn't a failed OS.

Fineeeee, I'll do it.

Guessing you spend a lot of time on XDA as well?
