YouTube is having a lot of totally not anticompetitive "bugs" in these past couple of weeks

It didn't buy the format and then cancelled it, it did it purely by providing a more convenient way of listening to music than downloading mp3s, so yes, it's a win

Backing up your own physical media is a legitimate and legal privilege though

Not only their own bodies, but the right to end a potential offspring of a man?? /s

But you do have time to complain

Maybe if they hadn't already harvest my data for decades. Now that it's no longer as profitable they want me to pay to just avoid being nagged?

Then it should be the other way around "CEO forced to step down as college students aren't using the app anymore", the latter caused the former.

I'd blame Amazon on that one, you can get android to run pretty efficiently if you put enough time in tweaking it, look at all the custom ROMs getting modern android versions running on old phones and tablets.

Buy it for the convenience and for the good Devs, pirate it after if they try taking it away. You already paid for it

Figma balls

Gets rid of any added substances, lessens the "forbidden fruit" appeal of drugs and implements safety checks so if you do OD or are worried you've OD'd you're not afraid to call the ambulance.

Only because it's not as important for them to keep it, they make a lot of money from other properties

Because interacting with other windows users is painful.

Because gaming and gaming modding in particular is still fairly windows centric

Because many windows apps are not available on Linux, and you end up being forced to use alternatives that usually don't hold a candle to the proper one.

Because text rendering scaling is still integer based and trying to do say 120% scaling will result in a weird look.

Because having an issue on your system isn't solved as easily as updating a driver.

Because VR support on Linux is fairly non existent.

Because you'll always be a second tier citizen to the cool new apps that get released.

Linux might be a great upgrade if you only use windows for web browsing, but if you're a windows power user transitioning to Linux can be painful and in my experience primarily a downgrade.

I mean Adobe doesn't either

Not sure the UK would be a valid option, the laws that the EU are passing now aren't making their way to the UK anymore so if Apple wanted to be thorough they'd block it in the UK too

Sure but they also seem to share quite a bit of GUI code at least. Couldn't all of these just be plugins for a core *arr service?

Sounds like a skilled job for me that ought to be paid then

Not really, there's certainly a compromise where glasses level sized tech could be very appealing to a lot of people

Surprised Affinity Designer isn't under Ai?

It didn't fail, twitter shut it down

Jesus Christ and y'all still live in the US??

About to? It was already feasting on their next week lunch when it comes to UX and UI work, instead of making XD into a good competitor they just wanted to take the easy way out

The issue is the platforms aren't competing, because shows can exclusively be on one platform only and you need to be subscribed to watch it, so you end up with the current landscape of services that instead of competing with each other make it so you need all of them to get a full experience. Alternative playstores might face similar issues, but you don't need to pay to download multiple stores and apps don't have exclusivity deals to one app store

Why does it need to be the open source version?

It's quite alright, but the platform hasn't really grown in a while outside of its available catalogue. Gog galaxy is still in beta I think and it also still has no Linux launcher yet. Still good for the no DRM part tho

I mean sure but be prepared, I think that's the important part

Similar thing happening Romania too, it's disheartening but in a country where the meat industry was already hit hard I can understand the economic reasons behind it, but that doesn't mean I'm a fan of it.

Of course a lot of people are also just afraid of anything synthetic and "unnatural", falling into the same category as GMOs.

History is seen as boring, outside of times of war

Kinda surprised, I've fully moved over myself now, even if I don't always use the chat gpt stuff, the lil embed on the side had been quite helpful

Tbh I just wrote it from memory as I'm on my phone: Bumble CEO steps down as college students dump dating apps

And I have to disagree, it definitely is a causality thing in a weird way, sure they happen at the same time-ish but it implies a connection between the former and the latter — the latter being used as a reference point around which the former is explained to have happened.

And I'm 100% you're either testing incorrectly or have some issue that makes it so you can't see high FPS or something. I could definitely tell the difference between 20, 60 and 165fps, maybe not small increments like going from 140 to 160, but it's definitely noticeable when things are suddenly smoother. Sure you can fake some of it with motion blur and good frame pacing, but high FPS is definitely noticeable, at least in my case up to 160, but I haven't got a monitor that goes higher to compare.

Dark Souls, took a partner to get me to give it another shot, I've played all souls games since lmao

They've lobbied before

One of the parties has to trust the endpoint. People can screenshot or forward you messages to other people unbeknownst to you, but you have to trust the other person not to do so, how is that any different from trusting another person that they choose a safe app?

But I rewrote it in the comment you just replied to based on the accurate wording 😅

As a UI designer, no it's not just them. We need to know how people are using features to know if we should prioritise or deprioritise work on them and what work we might want to put in them.

But that would be infringing on the families' freedom! Surely if we just ask the corpos politely they'll be nice enough to stop (or nice enough to lobby them to shut up).

Lots of good shows on there - movies too, look up WolfWalkers

I mean the evil corporation in Spiderman is "Oscorp" which is not very far away

Where's Genghis khan levels of parentage when you need them?
