Saying they should do something isn't a demand. To me, it'd be more akin to the EU sharing currency, various regulations, etc. It just makes things easier for those within it and tends to be mutually beneficial, but it does take same to find agreements that every member is cool with.

That's a decent solution, but unfortunately doesn't have handy podcast app features like silence trimming, voice boosting, etc. Great suggestion though!

That works. F-Droid is an alternative to the Play store. You can also download the .apk directly instead if you prefer. Just scroll down to the versions and find the most recent.

It's possible for mods to make themes that correspond to each specific kbin theme selection. Maybe I nee to write up a post and share how to do it.

I personally really want a way to just view all microblogs and threads in a singular feed. Just display the microblogs the same as threads, I reckon -- like self/text posts on Reddit.

Lemmy is God.

I think this could all be solved easily with some quick onboarding explaining terms when a user signs up.

Come on folks, where's that MySpace/Xanga/Geocities spirit‽ Maybe younger folks here weren't active online at that time. Sad we've lost that a bit online. Lots of people learned lots of stuff to make their pages look cool.

Any tips on jumping in? Recommended services, etc

@V699

I'm not sure I love the name either, but I sorta get it. It's like subscribing to a print magazine. A magazine generally has articles and content about a specific topic. So it's about referring to the content of the "magazine" as opposed to the subscribers to it.

Have you gotten them working at all? Seems they're still a WIP perhaps?

I've done some decorating over at https://kbin.social/m/ArcBrowser. Not done yet, but for Arc Browser users, the colors will adjust to match your browser theme!

#ArcBrowser

Still all being figured out, so totally possible he tries to cover as much of the fediverse as possible. Lots of people asking him for it and I know he's listening.

@Rnway I believe this is considered a microblog, not a thread.

@kestrel7

Haha, definitely! Had to have that autoplaying music when people came to your page!

Do people have something against commenting on old posts? I'd do that all the time when I had reason to on Reddit

Getting a 404 error, but might just be due to kbin upgrades, etc.

I could easily see it being added in options that people can see these terms as whatever they prefer. Could even be done with browser extensions/user scripts relatively simply.

A temporary work around is using the upvote (aka favorite) and the post will be shown in your favorites, whereas the "boost" acts more like an upvote on kbin

Designer here. You could try searching for communities on the fediverse dedicated to design/web design/3D/etc and contacting someone if you like their work or just making a post about it if allowed, or a mastodon/microblog post with lots of related hashtags. Or if you really wanna widen the net, you can try looking on Twitter/Threads/Dribbble/etc. for people you like and contacting them.

@crossmr I believe the best you can do for now is remove the hashtags from your magazine that pull content into your microblog and it should only show local content then, I believe.

Any tips on where you source the torrents from? Also looking into Usenet as well

Something in IT is great, I think, and will be applicable to such a variety of fields and allow you to pivot in your career. Once you're progressing in your career, well, I've seen or heard of people making surprising shifts. So much learning for various jobs is really institutional anyways and will happen on the job. Just make sure you learn to well, learn. Always be playing with and learning new tools and processes and be adaptable. For instance, you could start out a developer and find out you like managing projects on your team and finding ways to make things more efficient and wind up a project manager who also understands what your team is talking about and working on.

Absoltuely. Definitely depends on what you're listening to. Gotta be able to adjust per podcast.

Same, I've set them up and have tried to add badges to post just in case, but not sure it's working since it's just plain text and there's no autofill or anything.

This is super helpful, thanks so much

For me, this is just opening it as a browser tab, not sure why
