ads cost money to increase users to eventually profit from them later.

how would a decentralized lemmy profit from the increased users.

Any money spent on ads would be better off hiring more engineering resources and improving lemmy for the next time Reddit does something dumb prompting an exodus.

how? open ai isn't funneling views to news sites it ripped from

unless this is an extremely long con. I haven't heard of any reports of her cracks being malware. in the case of RE village her crack improved performance vs capcom's DRM.

Just tried it out, works great! I was able to do some basic searches and most results mad sense

Two cool features would be:

  • ability to delete photos. I could see searching and deleting a good workflow
  • if possible, see what tags the images have to see how CLIP output works

yeah but then you have to play a console without mods or cheap games

try buying a used GPU and game on 1080p monitor and you'll be able to have great graphics without a lot of money

rendering engines. I use multiple browsers depending on context

how do you not know how old you are?

bots take resources to serve just like any regular user

this is still a terrible idea. the system should never know the plaintext password.

logs capture a lot even automated emails. i don't see a single reason to send the user their plaintext password and many reasons why they shouldn't

kinda makes sense. it's like if a youtube video or soundcloud track gets DCMA'd then they're going to remove the link.

if it was you actual browser bookmark i would understand the outrage.

im still on FF tho

yeah it's always the people who contribute the least to free software who expects the most.

this tankie narrative seems overblown.

i've created an account the day the api changes was announced and i've never seen any political discussions around communism. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but i've seen far more complaining about tankies than tankies themselves

like reddit, if you avoid all and just subscribe to the communities you're interested in then there's no problem.

my theory is that this will harden the next generation of nintendo emulator devs to be more anonymous and uncontactable.

i also suspect that nintendo has only delayed switch 2 emulation which is probably really close to switch 1 and can be trivially emulated relatively speaking.

i do think they're going to partner with denuvo though which with make piracy harder, but i think the switch will also be cracked.

youtube is more secure than reddit.

it's hard to offer that much video content for free

i think it's the wrong direction to try to police questions but instead empower users with the ability to filter by text or flairs

we just need another large corporation to save us again

honestly it's better than america being laid off and hoping you find a new job before benefits expire

that just leaves room for the second biggest communication platform to become the biggest platform.

and tbh the newest generation uses tiktok more to stay informed

my wired headphones are going strong since 2012

came here to say the same

I can't reproduce this on desktop. can you try again in desktop mode

BC2 is a great game but I think it's funny you say the game got more arcade

They said the same thing about bad company simplifying battlefield to play on consoles.

but I do think they should have leaned more on destruction, environments and strategy

it looks fine to me.

kbin and Lemmy are 3 and 4 for fastest brisket growing servers.

Twitter has gone over much more changes in the past year than reddit.

  • bought
  • fired almost all employees
  • lost ads partners
  • had PR mishaps
  • now rate limiting affecting ever user and ads at the same time
  • now threads is out

reddit really isn't really changing the experience for most people but Twitter is.

also more mastodon users also affects us too since you can interact with Lemmy on mastodon so it benefits the network

sponsor block skipped ⅔ of the video and thought it was a bug

you can still use an adapter.

that's exactly why a password manager works. there's a generator that you can configure to meet requirements

i thought 2 was much more mechanically rich but this is a dissonance issue with the fun-loving crew that can kill.

luckily you can play the game using non-lethal methods and stealth so it works, but ubisoft wont commit fully.

reddit requires you to go out of your way to enable nsfw. tiktok is pretty heavy handed in moderation, but i still get some spam videos of nsfw content

they embed dark souls into the browser

I would seriously fund a kickstarter of former eidos employees to make a spiritual successor

the combat of the remake is better than the OG one. much higher skill ceiling and the music is better too

yeah it needs a my communities dropdown to view all subscribed communities.

having the same interface is still cool and as a ml user i can still see their content

I'm not sure. I've worked at companies using amplitude and hotjar that can record all click event and sessions on web

If i remember, what killed windows phone was the lack of 3rd party apps which is especially ironic since they now own the entire developer experience. They have vscode, github, azure, they could have made windows mobile a compile target and get more apps if they played the long game.

Apple is dipping their toes into XR, I wonder if microsoft will follow them later for another chance of the mobile market

yes

we've never seen a source game at the scale of oblivion and have object permanence so you can't really compare the two.
