So begins the game of broken telephone.

Other than being hosted at the same ip as lemmy.ml

temporarily defederate

Would you like to buy a bridge?

Torrenting often maxes out my download speed as well.

Man fuck beehaw. They don't want us? Fine, they can fuck off then.

We should create competing communities and let beehaw stew in their own juices, just like they want.

Not gonna happen.

I'll bet you a sixpack, assuming you reciprocate.

One year sounds good.

I hope either one of will remember this June 17 2024. Send me a message.

I estimate a 6 pack to be $12.

Google lies hard.

It only has 351 actual results (36 pages).

377 results if you use the "show duplicates" link.

Sorry to poop on your party.

I remember when AMAs were organic and people actually answered questions. Before prepared questions and answers became a thing.

Not until June 30

Right my point is, why do you care if they make alt accounts? It's the behavior that's moderated.

Not all good. We should temporarily defederate them until they come to their senses, in fact most instances should do it together. Let them have their walled garden.

That's really not a replacement for a link aggregator site with discussion.

AI will figure them out, don't you worry.

If it needs to take down the fediverse as a competitor media, it'll figure out a way to manipulate people into it.

I've been on reddit for a couple years before the flood from Digg. The quality of content and especially comments went down right then, and never recovered.

Personally I skipped Digg entirely.

Bye bye warranty?

Ok, “communists want to force their will upon everyone else which necessitates murder”

Are you happy?

I had the exact same thing happen to me (previous owner left old wheelbarrow). And what I did was take the wheel off, pop the tire out and put a bicycle patch on the hole in the tube. Good as new.

That being said I put probably 25+ bicycle tire patches on in my life, so it was cake for me.

Just make one!

To be honest I am very far from it, but I am glad you made the community!

Name one thing that was actually time sensitive that you wouldn't have found out about in time otherwise.

I've been over reddit for years now.. But there was no good replacement. Lemmy fills that void.

something that dark basement tech nerds would come up with that is “edgy” and really only used by them and other people like them.

That's exactly what it is and why I love it. The whole thing about this federated networking is that it doesn't matter where you signed up.

So given participant 1, 2. 1 is on .world, 2 is on kbin

P1: message a
P2: message b
P1: message c
P2: message d

Would a beehaw user see just messages b and d? What would it look like they are replying to?

Would they see the comment chain at all as it was started by P1?

Jesus Christ that sounds like absolute hell.

Does kbin have multiple instances? Or is it basically a Lemmy-and-Mastodon singular hybrid instance? Is it even open source?

3 more...

Thanks. Everyone seems to talk about kbin.social as if others don't exist.

Where do I go to sell mine? I have like 5 7+ year old accounts.

I think selling will inflict maximum pain for reddit while netting me a little gift.

So? What prevented them from making alt accounts on reddit and other corporate media?

Moderation, right?

Where can I get maximum value for my old accounts?

That's actually awesome for users of sh.itjust.works. Like myself.

There's no karma here. And thus no karma farming.

I don't think I've ever blocked anyone. Suit yourself.

Just like with reddit, I don't use defaults.

How's that? Every time I've pressed a communist about how they will deal with non conformity should their revolution succeed, they eventually agree that the plan is to kill them.

Voat people will have their own instances and their own communities. Which you don't have to participate in.

9 more...

So, can we extend that to any communist group as well then?

I think that's the thing you're not getting. This isn't a site. It's a federation of independent networks, each with their own rules.

Have you seen any of that around? I haven't.

Probably keeps it on 100% for extended periods of time.
