So now we know who Huffman wants to be when he grows up. Muskrat. And that wraps up the show for today folks. Time to pull the plug on Reddit.

He doesn't just roll in Cheetos dust?

Used to mean something else in the world of machinery and auto mechanics. Old school stuff. There is a screw that holds the distributor cap in place. A mechanic would loosen that screw and rotate the whole distributor cap very slightly, maybe 5° or so, the thing is round, so that's a really small portion of a circle. So one could turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to advance or retard the timing.

Will Elon lose control of Elon? Seems like a far more predictable outcome.

Would also have been news

I am waiting for someone to make a Pez dispenser with his head on it. But it only dispenses huge API charges and senseless threats.

And how much does reddit pay?

I agree. I came over to check it out, like what I have found and I'm going to stay. Don't miss the ads and the bots, this is a pretty cool place. If it were possible to send some sort of larger message to the money people at reddit, great. If they still keep doing what they were already doing, whatever. I'm glad I found this place.

Wow. Absolutely great work. Thank you

But if you could that is absolutely the first thing that they would try, turn it off and then back on

These kind of unsolicited reports from users prove a really important point, and one that Spez and company would prefer to ignore. If you have good enough content people will pay for an ad-free experience.

Movement is good. She's a moron and a Trump appointee. I was hoping she would recuse herself.

I just plain quit using Reddit. But I am an old guy. I have walked a picket line. When negotiations fail then for the average person to have any leverage against a massive system then the cost to return with no spelled out terms must be infinitely high.

In an alternate universe somewhere, Roberts penalizes Alito and Thomas for turning the court into their personal atm

I think it's mostly an expensive toy. They made it VTOL so it does not have to go fast enough on the ground to become airborne. That's ok, it doesn't need a runway to take off, but VTOL is way to make things fly that really have no business flying. Airplanes have a certain shape because they have to. This thing looks like a bar of soap in comparison. I'm sure it uses a ton of energy to stay airborne, it would have the glide coefficient of a rock.

Does a CEO really understand how the products that his company makes operate at the nuts and bolts scale? To me this sounds like if the CEO of GM was discussing the merits and deficits of a limited slip differential. If they know anything about it they know what some engineers dumbed down enough for him to grasp it.

For me the big takeaway here is that as long as we choose to participate in a system that is ultimately driven by a profit motive we are going to be the means to that end. Kbin, lemmy, calckey, whatever other flavor of the fediverse you may be using, doesn't have that feature. As the people who chose to be mods for free on Reddit demonstrated, people will dedicate alot to a thing that feels like a community or a movement. Not so much to a thing that feels like a commercial enterprise. So yeah, Spez is a self serving idjit. But maybe he did us a favor by motivating us to find something better.

We need some RPGs. Not role playing games...

This just needs better marketing. With the right ad campaign we will have kids standing in line to ride the pear wiggler.

Slowly or quickly, it's gonna crash. At this point you are just rearranging furniture on the Titanic

Seems to me that rich people, especially obnoxious rich people, don't get to see very many people behaving as they naturally would. If you are not impressed by their money then you probably ignore and avoid. If you are then you are fake nice. I doubt that they get a very realistic take on what people in general really think.

The story will change depending on who tells it. I believe in Jesus, sure enough. But not the one that these people think they serve. Be blessed.

If you get wheels or tires that need a different pressure you have a few options. I have used a sticker in the glove box, open the glove box and put a sticker on the inside of the part that opens. Those temporary name stickers from an office supply store work, just write the info on the sticker with a marker. I would not cover up the factory sticker because you may want to go back to the original setup or sell the car at some later date and keep the aftermarket wheels or sell them separately.

And it was. I have heard that the phrase, "May you live in interesting times" was at one time used as a curse. Can sorta see why

Maybe they could build a bot to do it. It wouldn't work but it might be funny to watch.

Please, sir, may I have another?

I had a friend who was from Louisiana. This was a commonly used phrase there.

Information tech people say we have introduced new measures and methods to guarantee compliance with our policies. And pirates answer challenge accepted

Knew a lady with a trained chinchilla. Bet she could train your UI.

I am new to the fediverse concept. Is Squabbles part of the fediverse?

I'm old, but the whole scene reminds me of Max Headroom.

Seems like pretty soon will be bots interacting with bots. All hail spez. Can't imagine what the draw would be. I like it here.

That could be. The people at Apple probably can't imagine anyone wanting to use a product not made by them.

By the great blarney stone

Your name is well chosen. I think you just wasted a lot of time essentially making the same points I did.

But three lefts do

Yes, Lord Vader....

I like the idea of a kbin app, but I wonder if it's just because I'm so used to everything having its own app. I got the jerboa app and tried to use Lemmy. It was so busy that I couldn't get anything to work. So I ended up on kbin. I like it, at least so far. Accessing it through a browser works, but maybe it would be better to have an app tailored to it. Either way I don't think I'm going back to reddit.

Maybe. How well do they verify that he is actually him? Couldn't he get a lookalike to hang out with the Secret Service guys while he skates?
