Mark it as busy in the calendar, that might keep them away. If marking the whole day is suspicious, make 1-2 hour marks with 10-20 minute gaps (or longer as long as it doesn't allow sticking a meeting in). Then make these "appointments" weekly and set the subjects(focus time) to private.

This is one of the most popular posts this week here with more than 4 HUNDRED comments. I don't know what you view as a discussion but I think this was a pretty successful attempt at creating one.

Thank you! I decided to go with this and the editing goes pretty smoothly so far. There are smaller bumps here and there but at least there is enough tutorials online not to get stuck.

As far as I know the last one went to shit real fast.

Looks like 2023 will be remembered as the year of big size enshittification. So many companies going to shit. Reddit with restricting API access, Twitter with...everything really, Google with its DRM and now Unity...great year so far, right?

But if my asshole stays on reddit, then how will I get reddit out of my system?

Definitely. All we have is us here and we play a very risky game. If people get hurt they will leave or lurk which is what we DON'T want. So yeah, hopefully there won't be much issue here for a while.

I already made my first video with it and it reached its audience :)

Haven't found major issues, only some slight problems but I found an alternative solution easily.

Copied from another explanation: >use your search feature on your main instance and enter !{community_name}@{instance_url} then you can subscribe

So for example if you want to sub to the memes community in lemmy.ml then go to Search, type in "!memes@lemmy.ml", under Search change the dropdown from Communities to All (important step), then you should see the community which you can subscribe and post to.
