should have let him win

Actually made me laugh. Guys, democrats just need to let repubs win and not hold elected officials responsible for crimes in office, come on.

From the article:

Mohamed Shalleh had argued that a friend he owed money to had tricked him into believing he was delivering contraband cigarettes.

You support this man being executed? Per the article it was for 54 grams of heroin which the state claims is enough for:

600 users for a week

Which is a blatant lie and evidence the state resorts to falsehoods to justify its barbarism. 1/2 a gram a day is common for an addicted user, so this man was carrying (unknown to him) just over 100 doses.

Looks like it just matches long term inflation, beats 2023 inflation. Win for workers.

During the observation period from 1960 to 2022, the average inflation rate was 19.0% per year. Overall, the price increase was 1.36 million percent. An item that cost 100 pesos in 1960 costs 1.36 million pesos at the beginning of 2023. For October 2023, the year-over-year inflation rate was 4.3%.

When Pubs neglected their constitutional duty to appoint Garland

Game theory is a tough subject, but it would be worth it for you to study to understand how you are acting against your less preferred candidate and helping what should be your least preferred candidate (assuming your ranked choice has the republican nominee below the democratic nominee).

Keep voting for 99% … gets us to the same place

You make it seem as though your protest vote does not also get us to the same place? Many voters have shared your mentality and voted accordingly for the past 200+ years and it’s not made a difference, what makes you think this time things will change?

If there’s n of something and n+1 breaks it, then it was broken to begin with.

wouldn’t exactly be fair that ~40 million Californians stomped on everything 500k Wyomese

You have details about her case you’d care to share?

second term of trump will be an order of magnitude worse

How would it be worse, like more of Jan 6? Would you explain what you mean?

None of this would be an issue if the medical bills were covered by single payer. I learned in other countries there’s no “ambulance chasers” because there’s no reason to have them - a whole parasitic industry nonexistent.

I’d push back that US regulatory bodies are strong and successful in some areas and that nuclear power doesn’t necessarily need to fall under regulatory capture. Consider the FAA - not perfect but does a pretty damn good job of keeping the skies safe.

Nah it was always an energy capacity and density per $ issue. Battery technology doesn’t improve as fast as compute but it has followed a steady ~10% yearly increase. Seems that when one tech plateaus another picks up. Solid state will get us to 4-500 mi/charge. Even electric planes will eventually happen.

+1 for obsidian! Have you tried out text generator plugin? Uses GPT api's. Haven't gotten into D&D but seems like it'd be a great tool for DMs to help make content.

Hello fellow libruls!

Congress already passed the budget. This is just the party of “government doesn’t work” trying to prove it can’t work by breaking things.

Campaign within the Democratic Party for those positions- they already have a lot of support.

So if a predator locks a victim in a closet, does that make lockmakers morally reprehensible?

Yes. It causes cancer. Eg chewing tobacco.

That’s by intentional design choice though.

The author did a poor job of explaining that. He’s referencing the thought experiment of a businessman instructing a super effective AI to make paperclips. Given a terse enough objective and an effective enough AI, one can imagine a scenario in which the businessman and the whole world in fact are turned into paperclips. This is obviously not the businessman’s goal, but it was the instruction he gave the AI. The implication of the thought experiment is that AI needs guardrails, perhaps even ethics, or else it can unintentionally result in a doomsday scenario.

Non-paywalled link?

Yes. That’s unfortunately how it is in a 2 party system which is guaranteed by the game theory behind first part the past voting. Burying your head in the sand and pretending otherwise with a 3rd party vote leads to a spoiling effect more destructive to your cause.

Have you used these tools for a complicated project? I’ve played around a little and it didn’t feel like turning off my brain at all, more like working with a genius drone and figuring out how to direct its skills to my ends and constantly evaluating the 10,000 foot view to edge the project forward.

Tobacco.

Youre asking under the context of others (and yourself?) justifying 3rd party vote. I can’t predict how the democrats would vote if/when they have a have a majority. I’m saying if you want those policies the only realistic path forward is to fight for it within the democratic party which was an earlier question of yours. 3rd party vote is strictly counterproductive to those goals. Certainly if Manchin and Sinema are barriers to that, the path forward is to fight for them to be pushed/primaried out and those policies are more likely to be implemented. Progressives represent a large group within the democratic party and more representation for them will shift the Overton window in their direction.

I encourage you to learn facts and circumstances around these cases. Legal eagle on youtube can provide an informative, entertaining overview from a lawyer’s perspective. The details surrounding the documents and the subjects response to inquiry is very different.

Not sure what you mean?

Its a monetization approach, same motives as what youtube does here with the ads so doubt itll ever go away.

What about the disenfranchised caused by first past the post? It’s arguably more representative even if some are partially disenfranchised.

You should look into starlink!
