And then they tell you that the fundamental equations for thermal, fluid, electrical and mechanical are all basically the same when you are looking at the whole Laplace thing. It's all the same....

I don't know why beach front property isn't super cheap because sea levels are gonna rise like 10' any day now.

You should protest the ticket in court. Going along with traffic is a valid defense. Get documentation of the behavior mentioned in your post. Doing what you did is more dangerous than going 3 over. The local bureaucracy has a problem there and you can use this issue to shine light on it.

Yeah there's excited, danger, let me outside, etc. The sneeze sound is "I'm playing with you don't fight for real" when play fighting with other dogs.

Pretty sure we're gonna regret the micro plastics.

To me this shows just how rare malware is on pirated software..... Someone did it and it causes quite an uproar.

I think Hanks t-shirt is from megalomart 5 for $10

I use windows boxes all the time every day and have since windows 3.1 and I've never used cortana.

I don't know of anyone who has. Ever.

I once heard it explained that gimps programmers goal was to make a program that can edit pictures. Their goal was not to edit pictures.

From what I've heard about the feel it's a giant data (=cash) grab. Sorta like how Google+ was a me-too and never took off.

The massive inrush is like what happens when the new restaurant opens in town. Everyone goes once or twice to check it out but if it sucks it will still fail even if it is super busy the first week.

Yeah it's been many years but I remember trying the official reddit app and it simply didnt work. I installed rif and it was perfect. I used rif for many years. Countless hours just scrolling my carefully curated subs.

So sad. When I launched it and it gave me an error that day the api changes kicked in, it felt like a friend just died.

Snif.

I think the fediverse might just be ok tho. These networks taking off right now are thanks to spez. Lol.

I'm sure you meant to add "in minecraft" right?

If a company is paying competitive wages then when an employee quits it isn't because of pay.

If a company is paying low wages it will probably be because of the pay that a person quits, because there is nothing to keep them putting up with the bs that EVERY COMPANY HAS.

Rats are actually very good pets. You'll need 2 because they are super social. They are very clean and smart, and it's possible to train them. We had some when my kids were small and one would ride around on my shoulder. Super cute.

Also, they're cheap. But they don't live very long. They aren't hypo allergenic but they're so small it isn't a problem, my wife is allergic to cats and regular dogs and she didn't have an issue.

Or, get a non-allergy dog. There's lots of doodles and shitzu mixes out there now.

The US government has near zero credibility. I dgaf what they say wrt aliens.

It may just be a distraction but could be a psyop by the cia for some convoluted reason.

They do seem to be earnestly playing the alien card right now and aren't letting it up.

That tells me that there will be escalation on this with some end goal in mind. And it will likely be another pain in the ass like their last one.

If reddit doesn't have to then why would an ISP?

This is precedent setting.

Yeah I just came in here to post that probably is actually pretty tasty

It seems so, and also seems like he's in a hurry to catch up.

500 years from now someone will be doing a doctoral thesis on the cultural significance of goatse, tubgirl, meatspin, lemon party and Rick roll.

I wonder if their CIA money has dried up, maybe funds are tight and they're forcing the algorithm for all it's worth. Sorta like how spez is burning reddit to the ground trying to maximize the metrics for the ipo or whatever.

Especially relevant if the tat is "don't regert, rememember."

The Culture series by Ian Banks

I'm doing the audio books, but that doesn't make it any easier to follow. I thought player of games was absolutely fantastic and brilliantly written, but I've found some of the books very complex.

With player of games he never actually describes the nature of the game board itself. I think that was intentional, he left it up to the reader. I found that fascinating.

I'm a bit of an aspiring author and this series is quite frankly inspiring. Not in it's confounding complexity but all the good bits.

Some of it is hard to visualize but for me sometimes it's hard to follow. I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds him challenging.

The one I'm on now seems to have elephant people in it and I definitely didn't quite put that together for quite a while lol.

As far as the nature of the culture, I don't know if any one book does a better job of describing the universe. Each book illustrates one facet of it, in my opinion. It's a big universe he's made, you get snapshots.

It's like he has this universe in his head and with each book he is exploring one specific topic of discussion, in the culture universe, and with each book it sheds a little more light onto what the culture really is.

It reminds me of the stainless steel rat series. Deep and meaningful ideas tempered by humor and whimsy.

My yard has a lot of clover and the bumbles just love it. I feel sorta bad when I have to mow it.

The best humor is the jokes with a little truth mixed in.

Whenever anyone with an audience says the things said in your punchline one group of jews will call the adl and cause the offender to be socially outcast. Meanwhile a Jewish comedian will go out and joke about it saying "well, everyone knows it's actually sorta true tho... Lolol"

according to the TV, child adoption is just an anti-semitic Qanon-adjacent conspiracy theory. No need for passwords! yay!

I routinely get emails from the owner of the company I work for asking me to kindly purchase several large gift cards and forward them and the receipt to him for prompt reimbursement.

There's a lot of things not taught in public schools that ought to be. Also a lot of things that are taught that shouldn't be.

A digital cable that meets spec can't be made better by gold plating or other bling. But a sub spec cable or a cable with some aspect degraded by damage or wear or contamination will introduce errors that will force the system to use whatever error correction is built in(such as with tcpip) that will hinder data speed. So, you can have a digital cable that works slower than spec but still "works". Especially when you are running any sort of significant distance or there is noise such as fromn ac power.

My point is that even with digital connections a better cable can make a difference. Just on the low end not the high end.

A very informative video on Linus tech tips where they ran a cable tester on lots of different cables. Super interesting.

I always tell people to get the full solid copper core cat6, no stranded, no copper clad.

At least for the important projects.

Start going around to banks and pay off mortgages - but only for people with like less than $1000 to $2000 in the bank. that would change lots of lives, quick.

It may be the most re-watchable series of them all but bbt is a close 2nd. Along with p and r.

Yeah but what if the government tells you it's safe and effective, and mandates transporters for all travel because it's good for the environment?

Are you willing to be branded a science denier?

What if they give you free food and an Amazon gift card?
