The internet, as experienced by most humans today, primarily consists of ads, sponsored content, propaganda and spin. I don't really see how it's contributing to our development in a constructive manner.

The country.

Oh, fuck. He's optimistic

I'd go as far as to say that it's not a trend, it's a prerequisite.

No, I'm pretty sure it's the latter that's causing most of your problems.

Seriously, thanks so much for posting that. Every now and again it's reassuring to hear someone put into words exactly what I fail to articulate. And so well articulated, too.

The fact that this was written before the enshittening of reddit really adds weight to the arguments within. I sigh and chef-kiss at the same time, if you can visualise that.

I don't think that's the case, but I'd like to be proven wrong. You can use a free icloud account to temporarily sign apps for a week using Alterserver, but afaik you still need a paid account to sign them for a year.

Try posting non-US news to !news and see what happens.

Well that's some high grade bullshit. "The World’s Internet Frontpage".

It'll go unnoticed, but I think it's appropriate to remind Americans that theyre co-opting terms like "news" to mean "American news".

Is that not why he's on such a mission to increase birth rates?

"including business founders, CEOs" - Oh, well, that's ok then. There was nothing to worry about, after all.

I don't need to read this article to know that the Taskbar Calendar/Agenda Flyout is still missing.

I mean, I can't account for taste, but I wouldn't say that tweet didn't mean anything.
Hollering, "this whole thing smacks of gender" sounds like something you might hear at 4th of July barbecue. As a drunk, aggressive family member gets told by another that he, "really shouldn't say things like that anymore".
I could continue the imaginary dialogue, but I hope you get the point. Perhaps, I read into it more than it deserved, but I didn't see it as totally meaningless or indecipherable.

As mandated in their invisible job description

I want the calendar agenda flyout back on my taskbar

I don't know, I feel like those things you mentioned are still going to happen, or are already happening.

Exactly. It's almost impossible to imagine anything about AI being 'good' because so little of any real substance is permitted to work for 'good'.
It'll work for profit, just like everything else.

"4th wall, man. What are you gonna do for it?"

Did I misread that all facebook/instagram users will have a Threads account by default?

I'm pretty new to all this, I just got a smart light and hub, etc. With the idea of using voice commands on my iphone/ipad.

But I was really disappointed to find out that I can't voice activate the command "living room light on", because as soon as Siri hears this, it responds "oh you havent setup a homekit device".

back before internet days, me and the boys got the fear while out smoking, seeing this in the night sky.

But... I don't want to view unlimited things on twitter...

Now I have to go back and remove my reduce. I guess some quotation marks might have helped avoid the confusion, but thanks for clearing it up!

Might have been more apt if they'd written "recognised", instead.

In a roundabout way, that is the best thing to do in MK

It seems likely to me that 'pop' music won't be created by people. As a result, people won't be made famous through music anymore, the cult of celebrity will move on to be more era-appropriate.

I mean, this only happened in the first place because it was extremely profitable to sell lots of records/concert tickets. That doesn't seem to be the case now.

So, if pop music has been manufactured to sell an image to impressionable people, there's little incentive to do that these days. It's surely more lucrative to fund an influencer than a 'musician'.

That is some hot sheet

I probably don't need to ask, at this point, but will there be an agenda flyout back again?

Yeah, it's almost like they just base their position on what'll get them the most hate-clicks

Hey, would you mind not posting links to the Daily Mail?

That's what I was afraid of

Ha. And strangely, never a CEO.

It's a copy. They keep having to change servers, the last few got seized.

Tbh, they do seem to be posting mostly the same links as each other, and the streams aren't always reliable.

This idea of a 'golden age of streaming' doesnt match with my experience. It was better when we were all using acestream!

Does US actually have 'values'?

Shit, just wait until you hit season 2. In amongst the passable episodes there's so much bad sitcom material. The tones shifts so dramatically, its hard to know what kind of show you're watching.

A lot of people are lapping it up, though. The star trek fans that I've spoken to, online, seem to think it's the best show for ages.

They wont.

And 'replaced' it with widgets that spam you with unremovable, gutter-press, shite

Such a bad idea, in so many ways.

  • 'sticky' posts of command M strips.
  • lines of coke, replaced by command M strips
  • command m lines over pornographic images.

Aw, I like command m strips
