I have a car thing, I use it at my desk for media controls. It is pretty great.

But the product description was pretty clear that you needed premium to use it. The same goes for using any third party Spotify client. Shouldn't have expected otherwise.

Can Trump just die already?

I will never understand how some people have no morals and will purposely enact laws to make people's lives worse.

Nah, most people are dumb, they will just continue to complain and assume there is nothing they can do.

I often dream of that alternative universe where Bernie became president instead of Biden...

Oh crap, didn't realize I have until the end of this year to switch it to Bluetooth mode! Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you. I almost forgot

Yes, lemmy does not work for non-techy stuff. Sometimes I want to look up random stuff like getting the best sim plan for international travel or what are the best apps for tracking weight lifting workouts. That kind of stuff is not available if the mainstream is not here. And thus reddit is unfortunately still needed.

For your line of work, maybe not. But who cares? They can hire more employees or pay them overtime.

We aren't machines. What's the point of life if all we ever do is work? Are we working to live, or living to work? A 32 hour work week makes it a 4/3 day split instead of a 5/2 day split. Seems a lot more balanced if you ask me.

All the power of Linux, with the annoyances of windows... A perfect world.

Community college is usually much cheaper than traditional 4 year college. They are only 2 years and you work towards an associate's degree instead of a bachelor's degree.

I went to a community college before going to a 4 year so I could accomplish all the core credit classes for cheaper and then transfer them to a 4 year.

If only.... but what would I use instead?

You misspelled "pity"

Hey, that's not fair! Sometimes I write 3 lines.

Them sounds like fighting words! Put up your jibblies!

Am I the only one who first thought that the dog in the picture was wearing shoes?

Yes, they are supposed to wait for them to leave. Also peaceful protests will usually allow emergency vehicles to go through.

It's a boil the frog scenario. Windows users will always cope with more and more shit thrown at them.

The controller is actually very nice. It is a shame Google killed stadia, it was a nice service to supplement the few games I wanted to play that I couldn't get on Nintendo, without having to go out and buy an Xbox or PlayStation. But I guess the steam deck now fills that void.

That's dumb, it should be the other way around. By default it should come with Linux, and you have the option of picking the Windows edition instead and pay that Microsoft tax.

Games aren't meant to be fun, they are meant to make money.

Youre giving them too much credit. Most will just accept fate and deal with the ads.

Can confirm, I'm using it right now. Works great

Crowdstrike has a lot of internal control of your machine in order to do things like hook into the processes you are running to observe any malicious activity. It makes sense that a bug could bring the whole system down.

The tree one... Hands down

Oh no.... Anyway

One can hope.

Wait, what is this new feature YouTube is doing?

Yeah it was also great because it integrated with Google TV well. The recent game you played was integrated with the "ongoing watch" list. So you can quickly pick up and play just like a TV show you've been watching. I thought for sure that was genius and would make playing video games more mainstream for people who don't really play video games. That was the audience Google should have pivoted towards to keep it afloat. Oh well...

That is actually the one I have been using too! But I always keep searching for if there are better ones. Progression would be perfect if they added exercise images, since I am a visual person, and tend to forget how an exercise is done.

Would love to see the developer to move his discussion to Lemmy.

Actually nevermind you're right. Dumb people never had an ad blocker on in the first place :D

Very true.

Ooo, thank you. I've been using bird.makeup to help ease the transition away from twitter to mastodon. This will help me do the same for lemmy.

That shouldn't be a gripe on Linux, it should be a gripe on game developers not supporting Linux. This is like blaming Nintendo when your Switch emulator on the PC isn't working right.

Yes, sure. But it would be cool if we had "proxy" communities for some of the non-techy stuff that I can subscribe to. Just so I can keep in tabs with updates on my favorite workout app, etc.

And if that proxied community ever transitioned over, they could just take over the community.

I hope so. In the meantime I would love to see a proxy to/from reddit, kind of like how there is bird.makeup for following Twitter people in Mastodon. I don't care if the discussion on Lemmy doesn't go back into reddit. It would make the transition easier anyway.

I thought that was always a thing...

Driver issues usually only happen if the manufacturer doesn't provide a Linux driver. Usually it is best to do some research to ensure the hardware will work before purchasing. Otherwise, the driver usually is included with the kernel so it is plug and play even for things that require manually downloading and installing on the Windows side.

Also, I'm not trying to get on any high horse. I personally think Linux is a great alternative to Windows and would love for everyone to at least try it out and see if it is right for them. It could save them tons of headaches and open the door to a new skill set, or just to breathe new life into that old laptop in your closet gathering dust. Linux has a lot of great uses that aren't possible with Windows. Give peas a chance.
