Unfortunately most of the more “conservative” instances became highly toxic and so most other instances have defederated with them.

I mean to be honest I wouldn’t say that we “die” at all when you sleep… your mind is extremely active while sleeping, it’s just disconnected from motor control.

I feel like this is well described lmao

Absolutely shocking to me that a multi billion dollar company would abuse their workers

Why not?

True enough, but we all have different skills, and if OP has android skills but not webdev skills, then they'd just be making they can make!

This is something that I feel like Brave New World got a lot more right. In that book, people’s pleasures are their prisons.

Yes all Americans are loud obnoxious and arrogant 🙄

Holy god my bad

Edit: You know initially I agreed with you, then I realized that your suggested comment accomplishes essentially the same thing.

Anyone would be able to infer from my comment that I don’t support the way that billion dollar companies are allowed to abuse their workers. It implicitly supports the idea that they should not be allowed to. Your suggestion contributes about as much to the discussion as my comment does, and to say that they are meaningfully different implies that people can’t interpret sarcasm.

Both my comment and your suggestion are saying something obvious, but so is the article. That’s the joke.

Yeah, any time I see one of these “big ideas!” I’m super skeptical… our solutions aren’t going to be easy innovations. They’re going to be hard, boring fixes.

Skull emoji times seven

Yeah but most of the time if you are just writing a fresh page it’s gonna be in that orientation, especially like back in school where it might be for an assignment or something, so more often than not it would be like that

Bro this is useless gatekeeping.

Can confirm. Would probably be maining windows if the workspaces actually… functioned…

I agree. The way I worded my comment was very intentional to not bash conservatism. I don’t consider myself one but I thought OP’s question was pretty respectful and I do find it unfortunate that he doesn’t have a community on here that isn’t extremely radicalized.

Which, fair enough. It definitely was sarcastic, low-effort, and unlikely to generate conversation. But just say that instead of lecturing me about fallacies, you know? Lol

The dev is very responsive to issues in the github, def go and submit this request there. I made 4 issues and they closed them all within 24 hours.

Have you ever seen the movie Sorry to Bother You? I feel like you would enjoy it

Hahahahaha what the hell

I want to get off Mr. Bones Wild Ride

I think so yes

I mean, LibreOffice is usable, but if I could pay for a linux license of Word or Excel, I would pay for it. The UX is just so much better with feature search/animations/plugin support/etc.

It had taken me so many years to break my reddit addiction, then my friend introduced me to lemmy, and it's been downhill ever since 🥲

ohh yeah true, i'm just gullible :(

🫥

Yeah it technically would get across a similar meaning. And at this point I see “peaked” more often online than the right one. But “piqued” is the idiom— not that it matters all that much.

Seconding this. In addition to the accessibility, etc benefits, just think about the sheer amount of traffic/users that came from people googling a completely unrelated topic and having reddit pop up. Those are users that might not have otherwise found the platform.

Alternatively you could have the log-in symbolic icon
