Subscriptions are a plague on our society. No wonder piracy is on the rise when even simple apps require a fucking subscription.

Google are so needlessly hostile to people that root, what the fuck does sending messages have to do with having elevated permissions on a phone?!

I find Patriotism incredibly arrogant and somewhat ignorant of the world around you. I don't care where you're from, I only care about decent individuals.

Some people are just pathetic and think that a green bubble means you’re are an inferior human being.

This only in the EU thing is going to bite them in the ass hard. You’re going to get App developers pretending to operate in the EU or moving there just to have more creative freedom.

Users will also find ways of doing the exact same. You can’t have one rule for one group of people and different rules for everyone else.

This is why you should never adopt Google services, there's a high chance they will kill it off given their awful track record.

Unpopular Opinion: I don’t like ads as much as anyone, I’d rather YouTube monetises 1440p and 4k content instead of forcing people to watch ads. YouTube is an extremely expensive business to run, so it being free forever is completely unsustainable.

Shows how much people understand of the law when they think using Bitorrent is illegal lol

This is my biggest problem with believing anything alien related; how come all of the video evidence is taken on a phone camera from 2001, and the fact basically all sightings happen in the US?

The people making this shit up have to try harder than that!

I feel like GNOME developers need to drop what they’re doing immediately and focus on making fractional scaling usable. Hi-DPI scaling is everywhere nowadays from TVs to laptop monitors, not supporting it properly is a massive problem for all affected users.

I’d switch to Linux pretty quickly if they made using my damn laptop a usable experience without dealing with blurry apps or having to use a microscope to read text.

IMO Steam OS is the "Windows" for handhelds. Sure there will be lots of variants of Linux with custom skins (hell even Windows itself). However, I think Steam OS has already established itself as a comfortable default for most people due to how optimized the UI is for handhelds and the fact it works out of the box for most PC games without any tinkering 🙂

I'm sure if it was a $2.5bn fine, they'd be much more careful about customer privacy going forwards...

The music industry can get dysentery, those absolute scum of the earth.

The UK gov are as useless as nipples on a man. They don’t act on anything unless they see monetary gain.

When greed backfires it’s glorious! Plus the more streaming services pop up, the more people will pirate; we’ve regressed back into the cable TV era all because the suits are greedy bastards and deserve to lose every subscriber.

Even as an Audiophile, I agree, FLAC is a waste of bandwidth and disk space unless you’re remixing tracks (which most people don’t do!)

If this is true, he literally has a deathwish, Ukraine almost destroyed Russia. Attempting to invade Europe would annihilate Russia before they even realise it.

Yes, if Valorant hasn’t been playable on Linux due to Vanguard then so will LoL.

Well, the thing is that developers need to go out of their way to intentionally break Linux support. The community does 99% of the work in most cases. Launchers, along with anti-cheat are the most egregious.

Anti-cheat I can semi-understand, the developer has to do some work, but popular anti-cheats support Linux no problem.

Launchers, however are 100% useless other than Steam itself, I wish Valve would ban third-party launchers. I wouldn't be surprised though if some publishers would pull their games from Steam if Valve outright banned them.

Who cares, he bought it and he ran it into the ground.

Call me a filthy casual or whatever, but I use Windows, Linux and macOS equally. My preference is Linux but I don't limit myself by just pretending the other two options don't exist :)

It’s an uphill battle, why would Apple bother when just using USB-C makes sense and saves them their lawyers sanity?

There never will be a YouTube competitor, it requires continuous investment from a multibillion dollar company.

I replaced my tablet, I can't replace my PC so easily lol

Now I always have my tablet with me in the form factor of a phone. I wouldn't call foldables useless, I love multitasking and consuming media on a large screen!

Imagine being so materialistic that you reject friends based on what brand phone they use. I wouldn't piss on someone like that if they were on fire.

Seems like 50% of Americans still believe Trump is going to make America great at the next election...

I did the exact same thing with my Steam Deck LCD and I had the same problem. It was a piece of piss to swap out the part thanks to Valve and iFixit :)

Modularity and upgradability should be standardised in everything!

Why don't they just actually give their actual reason: to spy on UK citizens.

To use children and criminals as a scapegoat for this attrocity is disgusting.

I can feel all the X11 fanboys crying lol

His name kinda reminds me of “A Shit Pie”.

Lemmy is the new old Reddit, Reddit is the new new Twitter.

True, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't preserve them just the same.

Pretty sure Apple still charges £300 😂

This is insane! It's like prosecuting a postman for delivering child porn content to a customer.

Rounded corners don’t bother me at all, but a notch sure as hell would.

How long before they declare Trumpism as a recognised medical condition?

It's like a dick measuring contest; personally, I don't want AI shoved down my throat and my private data sold without my consent.

I was sleeping one night about 16/17 years ago and heard something that I could only describe as a UFO. I didn't get a chance to look out my window, but I heard this rapidly pulsating droning sound VERY close to the roof, as if it was tracking me. I heard it fly overhead where my bed was, and it paused for a few seconds, but the sound could still be heard.

Probably lasted for about 10 seconds before it rapidly flew off. I've never heard anything in my life that sounds anything like this; it gives me the chills just remembering what I heard that night!

I was scared completely shitless.

^ Found another one!

Yeah but 1,900 staff, come the fuck on that’s a mass exodus not a layoff. I’m in a company of 300+ people and it’s a HUGE number of people, I can hardly process over 6x as many layoffs…
