Also, from someone who used to work at mcdonalds when I was in college - it's not the fault of the employees that the shake machine is broken and getting pissy at someone earning minimum wage because you can't have your mcflurry is peak entitlement and assholeism.

Yes, you can either add the game as a non-steam game and force proton, or use Lutris or Bottles (with proton or other WINE runner). For repacks with installers, you can launch the setup.exe with Lutris or Bottles (install the game to 'fake' drive_c and move it), just make sure you include dependencies that require it (usually .net framework).

Graphic design is my passion

Some of Starfield’s planets are meant to be empty by design — but that's not boring. “When the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there. They certainly weren't bored." The intention of Starfield's exploration is to evoke a feeling of smallness in players and make you feel overwhelmed.

May as well boot up SpaceEngine then.

It's always upsetting no matter what but the biggest upset is when people do this to their children when they're not even religious, which is common in the US and South Korea. I don't think some parents realise how abnormal it is.

This is a great presentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGYq1n6Ipfw

NMS is better since release but saying it's amazing now is a bit of an embellishment. At its core it's the same game with all the fundamental issues it always had, there's just more fluff added on.

I had the same email, it's creator-related features. So if you don't produce content it shouldn't affect anything

If you have resist fingerprint on, or use Librewolf, then you need to disable resist fingerprint, clear twitch cache and cookies then restart firefox/librewolf. Go back to twitch, log in (remember me for 30 days), and you should pass twitch's integrity check on login and be through.

This is what I do with my setup on Librewolf:

  • Disable resist fingerprinting, disable silent canvas blocking
  • Disable ad-blocking/tracking extensions - uBlock Origin, Decentraleyes, TTV Pro LOL etc. (sometimes I need to do this for twitch integrity check to pass. This should only happen once during the authentication request).
  • Clear cookies and site data (via lock symbol on the left-side of the URL bar)
  • Close browser
  • Open browser and login to twitch
  • Re-enable extensions and resist fingerprint

Oh come on... The origin of blacklist was centuries before "black" became the term for a person of colour. And on a thread about CSAM...

stretch (verb)

to make your body or your arms and legs straight so that they are as long as possible, in order to exercise the joints (= place where two bones are connected) after you have been in the same place or position for a long time
"ooh big stretch", they said while looking at the cat who just woke up.

stretch (idiom)

to make a claim that is not completely true, or to do something that goes further than what is considered to be reasonable
"not sure about what your point is there, I think it's a stretch", they said unconvinced.

Genuine question (I haven't played it): If it's a co-op PvE game, what reason could there be for not having the option of client-side hosting? You wouldn't need to have a queue and have lower requirements for server maintenance. You could play on official servers or community servers.

This will get repeated until it's the year 2080 when it becomes doubtless. I still see the claim that vaping "fills your lungs with water" when VG/PG produced vapour draws moisture away, the complete opposite.

Advocating to ban a dog breed because humans are pieces of shit is like saying we should ban climate activism because some climate activists engage in eco-terrorism.

I'd love for you to try to explain that simile.

People will create a black market for them, but it will be really small and die out.

There's already a black market for tobacco, and it will just grow in size not shrink. You can buy 50g for like £5 on DNMs.

IIRC the recruitment of new moderators has to go past Riot first

It's even better when Bethesda themselves describes Starfield as the "next-generation of RPGs". It's the same type of Bethesda game that I've been playing for 15+ years just with a new coat of paint. If this is the next-generation, then the future has no ambition whatsoever.

Go, mainly because I like larger scale board games (19x19 size). Go feels like fighting a war (macro) with many battles (micro) whereas Chess is fighting a single deciding battle. I do still like Chess though. They are different games. A lot more people have played Chess so here's my sales pitch for Go:

The rules of Go is very simple, more simple than Chess. You can learn everything you need to start playing in under 10 minutes. Yet at the same time it can be incredibly more complex. But even at high ranks it's extremely basic at its heart. I have a greater appreciation for Go pro players because the skill ceiling is seemingly infinite (at least from my perspective).

Every game of 19x19 Go is virtually unique. The amount of possible (legal) games of Go is ~2.082×10^170 which is something like this number:

208 168 199 381 979 984 699 478 633 344 862 770 286 522 453 884 530 548 425 639 456 820 927 419 612 738 015 378 525 648 451 698 519 643 907 259 916 015 628 128 546 089 888 314 427 129 715 319 317 557 736 620 397 247 064 840 935

For context that's an order of magnitude more than Eddington's number, the estimated number of protons in the observable universe.

As for the game; You have these isolated battles across the board which at first don't amount to much until these battles begin influencing and spilling over one another. It's a constant fight for territory. Then at the end stage of the game, everything links up and 'front-lines' are formed into a big picture when the victorious emerges. My favourite game is the Lee Sedol ladder game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6QerXttau8

It's also just a beautiful looking game. Combined with the way the stones can feel (such as slate and shell stones), with the "proper" way of placing stones and the sound of the stone hitting the wood. Playing Go with someone IRL is its own experience.

As for the requirement of memorization to be good at the game, it's true that some amount of studying is involved with learning sequences (Joseki). But you need way more game experience for that to be useful as you also need to build an intuition for an understanding of patterns. It's similar to Chess in this regard, but more.

As for counting the points to determine a winner, there's an easy trick. For Chinese rules, rearrange the shapes into squares and swap an equal amount of white and black stones. For Japanese rules, it's the same except you're swapping equal amount of empty space (territory). You can then easily count by using multiplication on nicer square shapes. The amount of points for each side won't be affected.

Neither is "but what about this?"

I found my IPTV provider on https://iptv.community. There's a thread where you can comment what you're looking for, and providers will message you. Usually you can get a 24h free trial before you buy a subscription.

I only have Sky Sports FHD though, no 4k. Although I'm sure there are providers who have 4k channels.

But what does Ja Rule think of this?

I remember a few years ago I watched him talk about how he would carry two phones for daily driving; An iPhone for taking photos and an Android for everything else, which just made my eyes roll. I get why for his career plus he has access to phones anyway, but I also feel like his expectations of a smartphone is far removed from an average consumer. Not that people don't care about cameras - they do, but having the best camera is enough to be contender for flagship of the year for him. Is it really more important than the OS or the price?
