Use Carrion from F-Droid and make it your screening app. Numbers that call you have to go through a verification that is mandated in the US & Canada. Numbers that fail this handshake verification will be rejected.

Seriously though. After years SteamVR still doesn't work with their own headset.

I would ask in the Gnome Newcomers matrix channel.

I have never seen this pop up with UBO

Never had issues with Gnome on low end hardware but, you can disable animations in the accessibility settings. (No extensions needed!)

DRM Leasing too. VR just straight up doesn't work on Gnome.

No it doesn't. I have a Valve Index and VR on Linux doesn't work for shit.

Mint isn't a bad ditro its just overhyped for new users.

Nobara is very overrated. Comes with so much bloat apps and is confusing for new users. Don't understand why people recommended it.

It has some kernel tweaks and niche bug fixes for certain games but its just overrated.

Ubuntu is decent but definitely lost its touch over the years.

If you are new to Linux just use Fedora. Everything will just work and you can install all your apps via the store.

How are you supposed to know someones skin color from an IP? The word you're looking for is xenophobic.

It depends on the license. If we are able to fork it in the long run we can just take all the good and remove all the bad.

Try out Pop Shell. Its works very well on my Fedora installs.

Apps that you can not uninstall natively will not be uninstalled but "disabled" at boot. You can only remove bloatware if you have root access.

I get where you're coming from, really. I've been disappointed by Linux for years with the learning curve and random errors that no one can help with. I'd take a long break from anything server related and then once you think your ready to come back, go watch some videos that give you inspiration like Techno Tim. Try to make a game plan and stick to it. Use standard stuff like Debian and Proxmox for software and to get a head start try this. Wish you all the best mate.

Make sure to subscribe to the Lemmy Rimworld page. I've been missing my daily Rimworld posts on Lemmy!

This is a very cool project! Appreciate you bringing this to my attention.

Comes in the sweaty fursuit

I think its fixed because I haven't encountered it in a long time. I recommend pulling Thunder right from GitHub using Obtainium instead of using fdroid. More frequent updates.

Hopefully the developer keeps respecting user privacy in the future.

Try different a DE like GNOME and see if the issue occurs again. I'm running perfectly with a Radeon 6700XT on GNOME with Wayland.

I mean hypothetically the tracking is gone

I never had to use my phone number, just used an alias email that points to my real email.

Grabbed mine on Facebook Marketplace for cheap. Just meet somewhere public and use cash.

I supposed both; Pulse Effects looks pretty good but was wondering if anyone is using something different!

As long as its a legit number that uses a popular carrier that supports modern protocols they should come through. I'd test it out yourself if you have any concerns.

GE 17 was released 3 weeks ago and 18 was released today. Just a new release aka update.

Last I checked the Flatpak is an old version of Proton VPN. Look up how to get the beta release for your distro to get the latest features.

amen

Meshtastic just forwards your requests through other peoples devices until it gets where it needs. It acts as a big repeater system. I haven't experimented with it much outside of just sending messages. I think you are able to transfer actual small files but that's the limits.

The Steam Deck doesn't do updates or background shader caches in the background while asleep.

I would assume you have some sort of software that is keeping the Steam Deck from hibernating because I can leave mine asleep for a week and it will still have charge.

Really? The app suite is the one reason I won't use KDE. There are hundreds of apps made perfectly for Gnome that fit perfectly with the theme.

Is this a copypasta?

Don't go around calling long supported open source apps "dodgy". If you actually used the app you would know that its a completly different codebade. Feel free to audit the source code if its "dodgy".

Why not have more storage on your phone for photos or music and then have that backup to a server? I encourage you to try to recover data from your broken phone. Much easier to read data from a unencrypted HDD then take a phone apart and try to read the bytes off it. You just keep all sensitive data on your phone's internal storage.
