MAGA crowd, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The whole “clean energy will take your jobs” rhetoric was indeed complete BS.

Saw one of these for the first time in our red neck of the woods. First thought when I saw all that black smoke coming out of that BBQ smoke stack was “how did that pass emissions?” Now I know why. Yuck

Lol literal white noise is getting more plays than my music.

It’s increasingly never coming to my area

TikTok is garbage and I don’t care how much my mate tries to get me to join, every time he sends me a link to some portrait mode video I cringe.

Everyone is a “content creator” nowadays. Which just makes the majority of said content complete shit.

Thanks for sharing the info as I’m sure there will be a few folks to jump on this. Personally, I don’t want anywhere near this.

Or… and hear me out… we eat the rich.

Nice try FBI.

Zero times. If it’s worth looking at it’ll make its way eventually to another platform that’s less of an ass fissure

Eat a billionaire or two

I just woke up and thought that read: “Indiana Jones: Rush To Renewables” and was confused for a second.

“Worth their time” ? Copy\paste the text into Mastodon. Post Done

I can empathize with the reluctance to completely jump ship but it costs nothing (both money and time) to cross post to another platform.

American here. Have unlimited PTO. It’s definitely not the norm but it does exist. I came from a company with only 2 weeks paid time off (total).

First one happened at birth:

I was turned the wrong way as a baby and the umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck, choking me to death. Doctors had to perform an emergency c-section. In doing so they cut my face with the scalpel in two spots. Almost didn’t make it but have these cool scars.

EDIT: where were these experts during my birth? As the commenters pointed out, I wasn’t choking, but dying nonetheless.

Time and keeping busy are the only things that help. You’re going to obsess over this regardless, but it will get better with time. Just try to keep your mind occupied.

Ex Apollo user here. Dropped Reddit as soon as Apollo shut down and haven’t looked back. Occasionally a Reddit post will return in my search but that’s about it for Reddit.

Memes are of interest NOW? To each their own but it’s the internet, gonna be tough not to see a meme.

But I agree with some of the other commenters. Customize your experience to suit your needs by carefully subscribing to only the communities you wish to engage with, then in your settings, choose to show only what you’ve subscribed to.

Never left

Same here and I cancelled Netflix back when they announced they were cracking down on shared accounts. Arrrrrrr

Agreed. We turned it off almost instantly at my last company. Now we use Teams. I miss those video backgrounds.

Content was rubbish anyway. I dropped it as soon as there were talks of the password crackdown.

I was really excited for firefish. Ditched my main Mastodon account in place of it and tried it out for a month. Aside from the slowness, and the constant downtime, I found the dev’s attitude off putting. I get it, you’re doing most of this yourself, you’re under pressure, and you have a regular life. But the constant negativity with the user base trying to figure out how this site worked was a turn off. Not sure how people are supposed to get excited about your project when you yourself seem to be annoyed by it.

I moved to firefish.social from Mastodon partially because of how firefish boasted how superior they were over Mastodon and the lack of features. But there’s one feature Mastodon has working for it: Uptime

I don’t enjoy motivating myself to go workout. Everything up until the point of the actual workout isn’t enjoyable. But the workout and post-workout I do enjoy. There is a high associated with it. And that feeling of accomplishment, and visible progress is extremely enjoyable.

The only advice I can give is to give it adequate time. It’s easy to get discouraged. Just keep this in mind: You spent a lot of time doing damage to your body, you’re going to need to put in some effort to reverse that damage. Give it some time before getting discouraged.

Got paywalled on this article.

I’m on that Mr Rogers rotation: Twice a day. I work out daily which always includes cardio so changing socks is a must lol.

Well a tornado hit our area and we’ve been without power for 3 days now. So I’m sure my fridge smells like shit.

Jungle/DnB DJ/Producer here for the past 10 years. Juno download for anything I purchase. Email promo lists for everything else.

A lot of label owners (including myself) will email out new promo weeks before the official release. If you can help promote their music, they will add you to their promo contact list. I’m at the point now where I don’t need to buy anymore music and get stuff before most folks.

I still buy music when there’s something I hear that I must have, but not so much anymore.

Happy to answer any questions

Hi. Nobody here 👋 I enjoy Mastodon and although nowhere near the same engagement as Shitter, I enjoy the content more. Some people like different things

Florida really is the “hold my beer” state.

Nice rack!

Apparently this is common. It’s not a good thing and obviously an emergency as they wanted it not wrapped around my neck. Regardless I was not going to make it.

In my humble opinion of course

I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life. Only the last 10 years has that improved but it will always be a struggle.

Kids are assholes and I was tormented all through grade school up until my last year of middle school. That’s when I was strong (and fed up) enough to protect myself.

Before that I used humor to try and deflect. Self deprecation, deflection, and sometimes just avoiding the situation altogether. Which meant isolation for the most part.

My “solution” isn’t recommended but ultimately giving the bullies a taste of their medicine kept them away. But I suffered immensely prior to that. It fucks you up for life.
