only real gamers could use this all day and forget to use it once.

thanks for posting here. I have no idea who the venkman01 is but the way they worded that post is borderline cringe

If you want to travel fast, go alone; but if you want to travel far, go together.

It's one of those African proverbs with an unknown origin but their emphasis on community has always been a guiding principle for me.

but because Kevin Conroy, I got it anyways.

Corporate greed ruins yet another thing I love.

I admire the late Conroy as much as the next guy but my brother in christ this mindset is exactly what fuels this level of quality by directly justifying it via your purchase.

You can't solely blame these corporation if you continue to behave in ways that to support and incentivises them to utilise these strategies.

Might just be me but I think this looks cool/cute af especially with the little plush

For the sake of the meme, I will out myself and say that I've been confusing Napoleon and Neapolitan for all my life. I feel seen.

It's going to be weaker in caffeine content but still stronger tasting. This is ideal if you are trying to reduce daily caffeine intake or just like the taste of strong coffee.

Some people still need a kick of espresso but don't want/need 3 shots worth in a single drink.

From the article.

The creators expect the wooden material will burn up completely when the device re-enters the atmosphere—potentially providing a way to avoid the generation of metal particles when a retired satellite returns to Earth.

These metal particles could have a negative impact on the environment and telecommunications, the developers said as they announced the satellite's completion on Tuesday.

be warned, it'll give you unearned optimism about how responsible you are to revisit the tabs you saved but will never see the light of day again.

Because about 10 years ago, those Safari/IE weren't 1. as smooth/simple as Chrome and 2. everyone on the internet bar the tech nerds were pushing for Chrome. Firefox was viewed in the same light as Linux in my circles.

It was a meme that the only use IE had was to download Chrome. It's not that crazy when you realise the power of word-of-mouth and the meeting the general population's needs for simplicity and google-search integration/features

It's almost impressive the levels and varieties of tone-deaf a single person is capable of.

Made me have a healthier relationship with social media, my smartphone usage, and overall thinking. I almost exclusively used RiF and curated it enough that I could readily get lost in it for hours in threads and/or following drama.

I knew what I liked about reddit was the mods, the 3rd party apps, and the communities, and the company behind the website was the least appealing ineffectual part of the experience. They were slow in every sense of the word and consistently made out-of-touch decisions.

Lemmy was a great transition point for me. At first I was trying to treat it as a clone. Instead, I found a place (and the fediverse in general) where there wasn't a mass amount of resources spent to keeping me engaged - it's just content of the day, no strings attached.

I found a space that was indifferent to the amount of time I spent on it, passionate communities that were more responsive and literate, and just felt more respected as a person.

Reading this utterly filled me with wholesome joy.

I knew there'd be growing pains for lemmy, thoroughly enjoying going nostalgia lane, but now I see every delight has a sinister cost

I really wish I knew what I did in the past to achieve this. Depression and poor eating habits?

going to use your title in lieu of "I use arch btw"

There was a time when the Google apps just worked, the applications were optimised for UX. Maybe I've just only noticed it now but the directions (and assistant in general) aren't as useful, reliable, and filled with sponsored stuff.

what do you use for navigation and how does it compare?

May be a minor bug but was a big fix for me! Thank you MV-GH and everyone involved for making this happening in a speedy manner :)

I have YTMusic (lol) but came as no surprise (hence the name)- only started listening this year too

Usually it appears that way (like I was surprised some posts had 0 likes/favourites), but when I click on the post or go to the original source - it shows a higher number.

I just assumed that instances don't automatically gather likes as readily as boosts.

Amazing journaling/personal information managment software. I love that once you understand how it works, you can journal however you like and it "maps" out how your connect concepts. Not exaggerating when I say it helped me piece a lot of concepts and personal themes together

Great post idea! A bit misleading cause she's got range from chill (don't)to upbeat/triumphant tunes (kattekekoyoi) for workouts.

Saved this post to refer later ✌️

Design preferences has a tendency to be "cyclical" appearing to be tiresome. That's fine and an encouraged strength of customisablility.

The issue is unified design language across android devices. Material You attempts to solve this to limited success. But it's better than the alternatives I've seen in the past.

The over-padding (especially default widgets) is something I take issue with but it's a preference and can easily be adjusted.

Wish there was an in-built feature to block entire instances just for this case. Some of them have 30k users with only 10 active users.

okay, clearly only a switch/indie gamer but 125gb for one game? I'm sure it's for the assets but isn't this just pushing costs and resources onto the consumer?

fixed and thanks!

Person has an idea for an X-men RPG, conceptualised a little too well and loves it so much they cursed themselves with the awareness of difficulty of game development and it's non-existence.

Decides to make a video and spread the curse to X-men and JRPG fans alike.

Nah it's not just you. Anytime I decide to start a radio while working, half the time I discover absolute bangers that I add to my playlists that balances between matching the vibe and distinct - which isn't as easy as it seems.

similar thing happened to me. i think it's important to remember it's literally easier to can't do something than choose not to do something.

Likewise. The Pixel 4a was peak for me because of how cheap it was, the size, the headphone jack, and back fingerprint reader. And the pixel's consistent photos.

But the Pixel 6 just feels cumbersome. The reader and double-tap in the back to pull the notification shade feels too deliberate and weighty given the size (This is supposed to be the smaller one). Compare that you could do unlock and pull the notification shade with the back reader and size made it feel great.

I've changed to Niagara launcher which has made it feel better but my next phone is definitely having a proper scanner.

I don't know the background of OP so this is just an opinion: I feel that modern UX have become so ubiquitous and streamlined for content consumption that users who aren't used to old-styled UIs see the lack of "sleek" design as lesser. It works doubly so that users aren't willing to venture outside of their ecosystems and will put up with anything regardless if it's detrimental to their experience.

Compare users of new reddit and the official app vs. users of old reddit and 3PA. I used 3PA because there wasn't an official app and RiF matched what I was used to. It's a similar phenomena to Apple users vs Windows/Android. People are just used to a streamlined sleek experience (which to be fair has it's merits) but to say it's superior or that the alternative is lesser is a large misstep in thinking.

It takes effort to go out of your comfort zone but it's saddening to see users mindlessly, for lack of a better terms, consume
