cool idea. haven't seen this exactly, but there are a number of fact checking sites it there depending on what country you love in. here are a couple...
come to the US - free sauce packets!
just ignore the chasm of wealth disparity, growing nationalism and maybe being a bullet proof vest. wait... you're not dark skinned, are you?

yeeeeeeclaaaaw pardner!
North East, US here. probably fine but I don't trust it. we use a water filter for drinking
take a look at politics at lemmy.world. their side bar has links to other related communities, any one of which might also be a good place to post depending on what you have in mind
it's gotta be, but.... nah, no one's that stupid to take that seriously.
right?
"we're on a mission from God"
I loved stumbled upon! it's got repetitive after a while, but I found a bunch of stuff I never otherwise would have
many people come back from near death experiences with insight about the whole structure of the universe. one common theme they report is that we all chose the lives we're living because these lives offered the best opportunity to learn and grow. they say we come back many times until we learn everything we need to.
so, if true, the downside is that you and I will probably be back. but, the upside is that we won't keep coming back forever and that we can curtail the number of times we will return by being the best people we can and by learning as much as we can.
a little blunt, but there's the classic Boaty McBoatface
hysterical and a great human despite difficult circumstances
totally agree in principle. my edc of choice has been the Leatherman skeletool for the last 5 years. pliers, Phillips and flat head and blade have been the perfect combination to balance portability and utility
I'm late to the party here, but since I didn't see it mention elsewhere, I'll throw up unbreakable with Bruce Willis. given his health conditions, it won't happen with him but it might be able to happen with somebody else in his place.
I feel like that movie established some solid characters and a somewhat unique case of the every man turned superhero. The whole idea of him just being able to touch someone and then get a glimpse into their hidden life was really cool. Plus there was the relationship with his son, bad guy suffering from that brittle bone disease to contrast with Bruce Willis's character being, well, unbreakable. it was a good setup I thought for a whole series of films.
yep, same here.
which brings up another good suggestion (since I haven't seen it yet)... AvE. https://youtube.com/@arduinoversusevil2025. if you like smart, irreverent commentary on tool build quality and other similar stuff, this cannuk is freaking hysterical. and, I must say, quite informative
cue the adrenaline......

huh - I never thought of it that way but of course it makes total sense.
I love this question - simple but thought provoking!
Jews call that sadaka. it's one of the ideas I remember fondly from my early years
I'm a fan of the WHY FILES. hit a similar genre as what you seem to like
never understood the hate he gets. I saw that special he did and I really didn't see anything disturbing.
yep, my bad. I misunderstood what the program does.
ditto. also keep one on each side of the miter saw and at the table saw to use the eraser side as an 11th finger when needed
did you mean Ron White?
that guy is hysterical
excellent point!
more empathy
here here!
didn't think much of the sequels though
any thoughts on some other sort of remote data backup just in case of fire, water damage, etc? years ago I moved is off of our nas for this reason but at this point on I'm really not happy with Googles process and crappy photos software. I wouldn't mind moving back to NAS with some cheaper no frills remote backup just in case
yep. that's the correct spelling for that sound
zoltan kaszas.
very strong on the fly and always has new material, usually relevant to wherever he's performing
we'll, shit.
guess I've got some movies to watch
having gotten zapped by 120VAC and 230VAC I totally agree. the former sucks and is no fun while the latter made me question my life choices
adjacent answer, but resource requirements are lower than might be expected since the simulation only needs to capture elements observed by a conscious entity. the vast majority of the known universe has not been observed in any detail that requires significant memory or processing resources. this same technique is employed by computer game designers so that only scenery and elements within view of a player are fully rendered.
do you mean fusion? fusions the one that separate atomic nuclei that we've had since the 1940's. fusions the one where atomic nuclei are combined, that make headlines when the reactors run for more than a few seconds
yep, right over my head. thought it was just an old timey nervous reference to pirated music.
personally, I have no desire to live longer than I'm intended to. living to that age with more vitality, however, that sounds great!
I dislike having to use Spotify b/c of the crap royalties the artists get from it. isn't this worse for the artists?
people are generally ok. put them in a situation where they can climb over other people to advance and watch the rot begin.
so, while people are generally ok, corporate people are generally not.
