@finickydesert @gnuhaut The installer installs sudo.

Also, what are the advantages of doas compared to sudo?

@patatahooligan @aswinbenny I once installed kde alongside GNOME and it messed with all the settings. It changed the icons and even the fonts. I couldn't even restore the settings once I decided to stick to GNOME, but thankfully I had a snapshot ready to rollback.

@Zeus @s20 wow this is interesting and makes perfect sense.

I really like GNOME and the functionality I use the most is the top left overview. Incredibly useful and easily accessible.

GNOME really should use the other 3 corners.

@Anticorp @hemko does she need 400% faster write speed?

@Rando @Sh1nyM3t4l4ss AMD generally has worse firmware than Intel.

Your laptop should support S3 sleep though. It might be labeled in the BIOS as "Linux" sleep.

If you use a modern kernel s0ix (called s2idle in Linux) will work fine as well.

[edit] I'm sorry I though you had a Thinkpad, wrote the comment on Mastodon app on phone and couldn't see the message I was replying to haha.
