I think they might be using "mainland Taiwan" as a way of saying China - Taiwan is an island which China thinks is "theirs" for some reason.

Hollow Knight, if you're not afraid of bugs.

This is No Stupid Questions, right? Just as a thought exercise, perhaps?

You probably can't get anything that properly powers your house because that would need to connect to the grid, but there are small solar arrays you can get for stuff like camping or boats which could probably power some devices. Might have to be via a battery as I suspect the output is variable.

The article mentions deliberate decisions that caused more harm. But it was an "honest mistake" says the comments, so that's ok.

There wasn't enough indoctrination in it, so they're seeing what they can add.

Yeah, not sure why it feels the need to mimic the appearance of social media when replaying an old joke. Does it make it appear more spontaneous?

It could be used for improving products, but really it'll be DRM for plants. That's what could make money so that's why money was spent.

It's supposed to be in the game but in the main menu instead of the pause menu. They've had main menu popups for dlc for years, not sure if I've seen ads for other games before.

Any strategy can implode at any moment, except leaving Unity far behind you.

Well they weren't going to admit it...

I lost pretty quickly on my first attempt, but I'm feeling confident about my second run! I'd let you know how it gets on, but...

"Game that rips off more successful games is concerned that the originals might be more successful than them"

I don't play Armored Core, so I don't really know what this means, but I must commend you for a very well formatted and detailed comment!

Interesting, I was taught you used a rolling boil for pasta so it wouldn't stick together. Maybe there's a halfway where it rolls for a few minutes then gets turned down as the pieces soften and become vulnerable to tearing.

NSFG - not safe for grandparents. I think fake news fits in there just as well as mild nudity and triggers.

I know what you mean, but I've been trying to branch out into more direct media. Things like webcomics, or The Onion. I might even start reading actual gaming news sites that I like instead of getting it all second hand from Reddit.

It's definitely left a gap, but sometimes it's good to move on.

My printer was constantly getting clogged because I only print every few months. I was literally buying a new ink cartridge every time. Laser printers can be left quiet indefinitely without wasting ink/toner, they're much better for intermittent use.

But you are saying something - the subtext could be "and we can't change it". It's a way of acknowledging the situation without wanting to waste further time on it.

Good advice except you forgot the minus symbol, this tip will ONLY get Pinterest links.

Why is it neutral evil to have a monitor without a face?

I think it looks good! Perhaps not amazing but it doesn't stand out - just looks like a regular dude haircut. You can also let it grow a little and see at which point you start being unhappy with the length.

Couple of spoilers in that article, admittedly the game has been around for a while but thought I'd mention it in case you're trying to avoid them.

The bot compresses an article about how AI are good at compression... how deep does this go?

Do you have to have played the witness to get the jokes, or does it stand alone?

I'd like to assume the compliance plan involves that - or at least moving it to a safer orbit - but it's probably more likely the plan is just saying "we won't do it again".

You got me. I'll try harder.

At least take it shorter. I get gaps where the fringe doesn't quite cover the receding hairline, but they're less noticeable when it's short. For me that's about an inch. A longer fringe like yours seems like it's a statement, so if you don't like it you probably don't like the statement it's making to others either!

We have a slightly later leaf with ~30k but now it's getting older the range is only about 80mi in warm weather (much worse in cold). It's not really viable for distances, but we could hire an ICE for those rare occasions.

Disagree, I played some last month. Different boys I guess but it felt the same.

I've heard this described as an island switch (making your home an island, cut off from the rest of the grid). I don't think it's appropriate for renting though, you'd surely need to make permanent alterations to the house's electrical circuits.

Where can we check the mod log?

There's a npp plugin called Big Files, I haven't used it but it might be worth a look.

It's all human readable abstractions for 0s and 1s, isn't it? Unless you're working with quantum computers.

We want to draw the line somewhere, so my mum on FB doesn't call herself a programmer for creating a post, but it's not very clear where to put that line. I think it has to depend on the context, you could tell your hairdresser you're a programmer to avoid the unnecessary details, but wouldn't describe it as such in a job interview.

Explains all the bandages I guess

Yeah they're trying to sell us the idea that things are magical and wonderful instead of the most squeezed we've ever been.

He has retrospectively redacted his own name from my view, impressive!

More like 40p now, thanks decades of Tory "leadership"!

But I have no money and lemons are expensive! If only there was a way we could acquire lemons without paying for them... Anyone know where I could find a lemon tree?

I think I got it on my third attempt. Though I haven't actually finished it yet! Only 2/3 in and then something shiny distracted me - I'll pick it up again soon. People described it as a soulslike, so after Elden Ring clicked for me I decided I would try the funny bug game again. Glad I did!
