Start using torrents. The good old ways are better. Don't feed the corporate motherfuckers undeserved money. I even cheated disney+ for a subscription. I was getting disney+ subscription for one year (with ads) in my credit card if I spent a certain amount. I spent that amount and got the subscription for free and cancelled the order and got my money back. Now I have one year of disney+ which I will watch in the browser with ublock origin. No ads with all content unlocked. Do I care or regret?. No fucking way.

There are many entitled people here. Some of them are from linux community. Anything other than that is bad and 1000 posts related to that. Another is sync and other apps. Especially open source only good, closed source everything bad. My feed was full of that. Even though I am a sync user i feel angry when seeing so many non sense posts supporting and against that. Even some communities not related to these are posting this.

I was on lemmy.world. It has some power tripping admins and also most of the time it is under attack. So I switched to the current one and it is fine and fast and stable most of the time.

If we take the majority of internet users, in that 99% doesn't care about ad blocking. They are not even aware of extensions and stuff. And most people in that category are not going to notice these changes at all as most of them are chrome users.

Some firefox fans will go to any extent to praise firefox by lying about chrome. One thing is that firefox is faster than chrome. My potato pc with 2gb ram and pentium dual core is able to run chrome (without ad blocking) faster than firefox. Page loading etc is faster even with ads in chrome. Same in my work pc with i5 11th gen and 16gb ram. Other chrome browsers like vivaldi and brave are even faster.

But do I care about a few seconds of lag in firefox?. No. I use firefox because of extensions and ad block integration. Not because of its speed. I also use chrome for banking websites etc for a smoother experience. Firefox has some more to do to get a smoother experience. Especially on phones. Pc firefox and chrome are almost similar. Even then chrome is a little bit more faster to be honest.

Other than people who are aware of this issue, that is a very small pool of people no one is ditching chrome.

Streaming through apps has terrible quality most of the time based on their server loads etc. Even with fastest internet steaming from Disney+ quality is shit most of the time. When I am torrenting, i can get a high quality print and can watch it without any issue or buffering. It takes a few minutes to download a few gb's. I am from a third world country and the internet here is so fast to download movies in 5 minutes max.

For me the majority of my usage will go nicely with firefox. None of the streaming apps or services I use require DRM, because they are piracy sites. I don't give a damn about pirating. Only if it is implemented then some banking services I use or food delivery service gonna use this. Which I don't mind using chrome for. All others will be done through firefox. We can't do anything against all these. So find some loop holes in the coming times to make it in our favor.

Yeah I don't even see ad spaces. I don't think it is because of dns adguard. It never removed ad spaces. Just the ads. But right now I am having a clean experience with no ads or stuff.

I don't know why. I don't have anything like that. 😅 I had been using sync pro for reddit. I have a similar look here. I am running adguard dns private dns for adblock. But it never removed the ad spaces in any app.
