Etsy is now dead to me. Any site that bans writings or nipples is not a place that deserves my money.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with that.

There's no way I could continue having a relationship with anyone who is a trump supporter.

My first two smartphones were keyboard phones that I had a love-hate relationship with. The rest were all a hate-hate relationship, except my current phone which is back to love-hate. How many smartphones has the average person owned now? I am up to 12...oh god.

Welcome to the Abandoned By Microsoft club. For me it was Windows Phone 7.

I do the same, including plugging the usb-c port. I specifically got a 5-watt qi charger over the 10 or 15 watt ones so that my phone would slow charge overnight. The phone doesn't get warm when charging that way, unlike when I use the usb-c port.

Oh wow 3-4 is great. My current android phone is using 9Gb out of 12. It's insane. I have no idea what's using it all.

I hope that since this phone isn't running android, 6gb will be enough.

I really want phones like this to actually work and to succeed, but there are so many things these companies have to get just right -- it's a huge undertaking.

Releasing a phone that's admittedly unfinished seems really risky. People are getting sick of unfinished products being tossed at them for full price, with the empty promises from the company that those missing features will be added in later.

I thought $500 for only 6GB of ram is really disappointing.

I'm sure someone is willing to show you their bottom!

The headline for this story was corrected to reflect that the surgeon general, Dr. Vivek Murthy, had declared gun violence a public health crisis, rather than a public health emergency. The surgeon general does not have the power to declare a public health emergency.

OP might want to update the title of this post.

Looking at the specs of this HMD phone, I would not recommend it. The headphone jack and SD card slot are about all this phone has going for it. It's underpowered, especially for a phone running Android 14. I guess it wouldn't be too bad for people who just need the cheapest Android phone they can get.

...There also appears to be a hole in the screen 🙃 (i loathe camera holes and screen "notches").

Yeah the price is steep. I had to get my 1 III used on Swappa.

I love LDAC but Sony seems to be abandoning it. I don't think their latest headphones or bluetooth speakers have support for it anymore.

Sony xperia phones are wonderful overall. Highly recommend.

This made me actually laugh out loud, thank you.

What I’m reading is that every car will have to be equipped with functioning GPS that’s going to check against a database of speed limits.

—Speed limits that can change and be out of date. —GPS data that could be stored and extracted from the dealership and sold or given to the government, insurance companies, and law enforcement. —GPS data that could be sent in real time if the car has a cellular connection or hijacks the cellular connection in your phone when you connect it to the car.

This is bad. Really really bad.

Parts pairing is prohibited only on devices sold in 2025 and later. And there are carve-outs for certain kinds of electronics and devices, including video game consoles, medical devices, HVAC systems, motor vehicles, and—as with other states—"electric toothbrushes."

What’s a good-faith argument for exempting these devices? Or was it simply successful lobbying in protecting corporate interests.

And i want him stripped of all power and held accountable for everything he’s done to strip away our rights and liberties, which has resulted in incalculable pain, suffering and death, but here we are.

That’s cruel. There are more doctors that are qualified and willing to perform these procedures and I would argue that it’s the ethical responsibility of the public health system to do whatever it takes to utilize these doctors.

God I fucking hate YouTube.

Be very very careful reading any trans news stories from the nytimes; the company does not believe that trans people are people and deserving of all the same rights as cis people. They are disingenuous about their coverage of trans news.

Also if it’s an opinion piece on trans issues from the nytimes, you’re better off not reading it. Those writers spew misinformation constantly and intentionally.

If they’re going to do it, do it for the police too. No masks, no helmets, no hats, no sunglasses, no face shields, no gas masks. Name and badge number prominently displayed.

For the protestors, claim that it’s a requirement of their strongly-held religious beliefs to wear a mask whenever protesting. Checkmate 😎

Facing a long wait for top surgery through New Zealand’s public health care system, a transgender teenager desperate to transition attempted a life-threatening mastectomy on himself.

A lack of funds for private gender-affirming care combined with the “significant psychological stress of having breasts at an upcoming pool party, pushed him to try the surgery himself,”

If you have to wait a year or more for medical care, and you cannot afford to jump the queue by going to a private practice, then I would argue that he is, in fact, being denied care.

Delayed care can absolutely be denied care, even if the delays aren’t intentionally weaponized against the patient.

“Wear your seatbelt to be safe or we’ll shoot.”

The one and only time I bought into a project on Indiegogo was for a phone that said it was shipping that month, even though the company had been delaying it for a year already (unbeknownst to me) and they had no idea when they were going to finish. It was straight up fraud, Indiegogo let the company do it without consequence, and 2.5 years later the project is still up on Indiegogo. Now I’m out $800, and the asshole company is still claiming they’ll send all the backers their phones any day now. They’ve been literally saying it for years.

Don’t learn the hard way like I had to. Never back an Indiegogo project.

It absolutely does, but the republicans don’t care. They hope the courts won’t strike it down, but even when the courts do strike it down, it’s still a win for republicans in office because their voters love the attempts at violating the human rights and civil rights of anyone who is different from them. Republican voters also remain ignorant of the fact that all these court battles cost money, their tax-payer money.

Let's not celebrate our shitty prison system's utter disregard to keep the people inside it safe.

Couldn’t have happened to a better person.

Sounds like something a “jeen-a” would say :D

I’m of the opinion that we need to start calling NSO Group a terrorist organization.

Does anyone remember that Rick and Morty episode with the planet that has the sun that constantly screams? I think I would rather live there than listen to Trump talk ever again.

No thanks.

Of course Google is implementing the feature via Google Play Services. I get why, but man is it frustrating for everyone who doesn't use or want Google Play Services on their phones. Hopefully other OSes can build this functionality in.

They seem to have a lust for killing their fellow Americans.

I don’t want civil war; I want to remove dangerous people from their positions of power to reduce the harm they are inflicting on all of us.

I stopped buying Samsung products a decade ago after getting a midrange Samsung smartphone that never got an OS update and had glaring bugs that never got fixed, as well as having bought a new Samsung refrigerator that would make an extremely loud bang sound every couple of hours because of a design flaw in the water line that goes to the freezer to make ice cubes.

I owned other Samsung products that also had problems, but these two cheesed me off the most.

Over the years I have read about problem after problem people have had with Samsung appliances, and problem after problem with Samsung smart phones. Samsung has been downright user-hostile to their phone customers for a while now.

Fuck Samsung.

I'm allowed to use it and be critical of it at the same time. But I use it way less these days because adblocker or not, it's become a user-hostile and censored place and every video is following the same formula in order to get seen the most and the whole thing feels gross.

I agree. And the whole design philosophy of the car was fucked when manufacturers were allowed to build SUVs and oversized trucks that weigh 2+ tons and don’t require any additional certification or licensure.

Lol "far-left". They aren't far left.
