Because it's easier to programm a single thread that executes a sequence of commands like [ update-gamelogic, update-graphics, etc. ] instead of at least 2 threads (for gamelogic and graphics) that you have to synchronize somehow. Synchronization can be pretty difficult!

Do not pre-order!

It's so weird that elves are now the good guys. They were actually dream spirits that give you nightmares (engl. nightmare ≫ german Alptraum = elf dream). And no, they weren't described having otherworldly beauty.

It's also believed that nordic elves and dwarfs are the same beings in the Edda. The nordic word for elf is álfr which often is part of dwarf names.

In older times when in-game scenes weren't invented yet game studios often played Bink videos.

You need a licence for the codec meaning someone has to pay to play.

I think it just doesn't free up any loaded texture if the VRAM size is large.

Works as designed.

Memory is there to be used. Why do you want to limit the usage? Do you need the memory elsewhere?

It's not about that.

If the game loop doesn't run at the same speed as the render loop you'll get 'tearing' - some game objects are at the latest state, some are not. That can cause some funky bugs.

Xiaomi Mi 10T with LineageOS 19 (there's no v20 for it) I bought it because I needed a new one that supports 5G and didn't cost a fortune.

Next one might be a Fairphone 5 whenever it comes out. Or a Pixel with GrapheneOS.

I'm also interested in a mobile that runs Linux instead of Android (see PinePhone). But there're none that have good/current hardware.

Is there a theme that imitates Windows 8/8.1 and its metro menu?

You can just buy an aftermarket anti-glare screen. They are cheap.

You can change the SSD by yourself but you'll lose waranty. There's a noticeable speed difference between the eMMC and NVMe versions. There's no noticeable speed difference between the NVMe versions.

IMHO if can afford it and have a few technical skills buy the little one and install one of these. You might even want to wrap it in one these (there's a real leather option too) or these or replace the joysticks with these (can't get drift and have a much smaller deadzone).

Try droid-ify instead.

  • Aegis for 2FA
  • always use 2FA where possible
  • good old USB TAN generator for online banking
  • never ever do online banking on my phone
  • degoogled phone
  • no facebook, insta, whatsapp etc. Signal and Liftoff are enough.

I'm planning to completeley switch to Linux on my computer. I'm also waiting for the Fairphone 5 and will install Ubuntu Touch on it when it will become available.

At the end of the day though after all of our storage tests conducted on Clear Linux, EXT4 came out to being just 2% faster than F2FS for this particular Intel Xeon Gold 5218 server paired with a Micron 9300 4TB NVMe solid-state drive source

I'll suggest XFS.

Yeah and after ES6 they might do a Fallout 5. If that also takes 10 years he'll retire before it releases.

You can try one of the phones that are supported by Ubuntu Touch. I don't know how good it runs but there are several cheap (= old) phones on the list.

Earth Defence Force 5

There's mostly only some really funny voice over during the missions. EDF6 is already there but the developer always takes his time to translate the game into English.

ext4 maxes out at a few tb

Max filesystem size is 1 EiB = 1048576 TiB.

More than enough!

Nice!

How many kidneys do I need to buy it?

RHEL uses XFS as default.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transaction_authentication_number#ChipTAN_/_Sm@rt-TAN_/_CardTAN

It's a 2FA using your online login (1st factor) and an one time password generator (2nd factor) to authorize money transactions.

The USB is needed to power the generator and has no data transfer option.

According to source the ecc has to 'kick-in' about 3700 times per year and dimm module. That's 10 times per day and dimm.

Depending on how important your server is to you you'll either need it (in case of important data you absolutely don't want to lose) or forget about it (just a hobby project, nothing serious).

The codec is embedded in the game. You are not allowed to crack a game to make it play a video or reroute it to some other software. That's illegal.

Yeah. It is. But it's a powerful one. 😬

Pokemon?

Is it?

To me it seems it's cheaper to build an antenna to serve 100-1000s of users than to dig and install cables to all of them.

Titanfall?

The next big thing are full RT graphics without rasterization. The industry will then need the next 10 years or so to fully adapt on that.

After that there won't be any more great improvements. RT already means full realism. You can't make it more realistic.

If you mean this manager it's a tool to create the initial vfio configuration for the passthrough. You can do it by hand.

Because stacking software can easily filter them out.

I hated the base building too. It's a really tedious system with a bad UI. I really hope it's just an optional feature in Starfield.

In the gameplay trailer they said something like putting the base parts together and then finishing something in them. It sounds like there're some sorts of decorations/contraptions you have to add inside a built room. It would be completely fine if the rooms themselves do or provide something without cluttering the interiors.

Could have been a Stellaris DLC.

Just click on the app names in my post.

Dang! How does it take to open that file? Are there formulas and macros in there?

As the others said, a spreadsheet isn't a database. And you now experience why. Tell your boss it's not going to work anymore.

I really liked both Freespace games and also played FSO. 🥰 Too bad there's no FS3. 😭🤧😢

Elite Dangerous has nice graphics and fantastic sound but I find it boring. 😪

X4 is less of a space shooter and more of a economy simulator. 🤑

Foldable display - They are still way too expensive!

Metal case - I just loved the heavy Samsung Omnia 7 metal case. It made it unbreakable and grippy!

The OS splits memory into pages and assigns the pages to applications. A page fault usually means one of two things:

  • hardware fault
  • programming error

You can check your memory with Memtest86. Some LiveCDs come with it. If it's a programs fault you can only try other software if possible.

What did you say? ...say? ...say? ...say? ...say? ...say?

The company structure only exists to provide a way to hire gitea developers for paid work.

For now. But n the long run the focus will shift to profit. That's a totally normal thing.

I recommend Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

It's a tactical role playing game which means you have a bunch of characters that you level up in and outside of tactical battles.

Maybe you like it.
