I plan to support Android too, by the way. It is already about 90% functional, mainly just some styling issues due to a few quirks between iOS and Android rendering. I'll keep you guys all posted!

Those are some of the main reasons. Also, the fact that it can be easily released as an Android build as well is nice, especially for users who would want a more Apollo-like feel on android devices. I have not personally tested Jeroba, but from screenshots I have seen (while it does look great!) it doesn't have the same look as some of the old Reddit apps.

Bottom line is this is a huge preference thing. I don't want to take anything at all away from Mlem. If you know Swift and think you can contribute to that project then by all means you should! Looks like a great project. Glad that there's so many people working on things for Lemmy already!

Thanks for the cross post! Please feel free to let me know if you guys run into any issues!

I have something in the works and should have it released today or tomorrow.

Been noticing this in the app I’m working on. Pretty much all POST requests fail to return a response and just timeout after 60 seconds. A quick refresh shows that the new items do successfully get created though.

Appreciate your work as always.

This is one of the biggest things I have been saying. While a bigger community is great, I’d be happy with a community of just 1% the size of Reddit. The small community vibe really gives me memories of the older days. Glad to see other people feel the same way.

Yea, using React Native. Generally you can do 80-90% of things all with the same code. Flutter and .NET MAUI are other options as well.

Thanks for the feedback!

Glad to hear it's working well! Let me know if you run into any issues or have ideas!

You can get it now on TestFlight https://testflight.apple.com/join/6jaRU6rD

I will be targeting iOS 15. Also, I'm preparing an Android build now. I wasn't originally going to target Android at all, but I may as well since it's all just one codebase with minor modifications for either OS.

Yup. I took it for a spin on a simulator and things are about 90% functional out of the box. There's some weird scaling issues with the text, but I believe that to be the patchwork way I'm rendering the markdown right now. Once I finish the markdown parser it should be the same across both platforms.

While it does take up the whole view, I intend to have a few other buttons and things on screen. The comment that you're replying to will be visible under the comment section, and there will be some buttons to easily add markdown to the comment.

I have just submitted a build to TestFlight! I'll let you know when it gets approved.

No problem! There isn't anything majorly different between the two API wise for something like this anyway.

I think for me it was just the one last thing that pushed me over the edge. The content was starting to get meh and the bots were 👎

Like I said a few other places, even if Lemmy only grows to be 1% of the size, I honestly like the small community vibe of it more than Reddit. More direct interactions.

I'll be giving out the link once it gets approved. I believe it's up to 10k testers, so won't be any issue getting it to everyone :)

Fixed that in the latest release. Sorry about that...

Have you checked the TestFlight app for an update?

Ah I didn't know about this. I'll have to see how to get that information and render accordingly. Thanks for letting me know!

Keyboard should use dark theme now in latest release. Let me know if it still doesn't? As for the theme, I have a few that I'll add.

Yea, I was actually a bit confused by the different options. Fediverse is new to me. But I've investigated it with someone else and I'll have some options to control that in the next build. I'll have something put up tonight and it should be in there, so as long as Apple is quick you'll see it in the next 24 hours. Thanks!

You got a Snapchat screenshot? I got…let’s just say it was two older gentlemen having some fun

Are the reports of warnings for posting Lemmy links true?

Fixed now. Sorry about that :(

I'll be throwing it into the next build. Trying to make everything look acceptable in two colors at once is a bit annoying, but trust me, I get it. It's high on my own personal to-do lol.
