Looks like Google is the responsible one, not Firefox. Don't shoot the messenger.

It may not be the best approach but i usually just open a PR or create an issue and offer a PR.

They usually let me know if it's lacking or my approach is wrong.

There's no shame in not knowing something.

Steam or anything from Valve

The fact that this post has more up- than downvotes is already an indication, that the majority seems to agree with you.

Everybody thinks that everybody else is stupid.

I don't think OP meant to say it's easy, but fulfilling.

Users are already paying with their personal information. Paying for YouTube is like tipping your Landlord.

I've switched from NPP years ago. Can somebody please explain why it's so popular?

Thats fair but steam is such a blessing imo:

  • Its so convenient
  • linux support is huge and better than windows with some games
  • family sharing, etc..

Yup. Cancelling a subscription has to be just as easy as singing up for it.

Doesn't Nix OS support this out of the box?

Use a budget

Please correct me if i'm wrong but Automattic is the owner of WordPress.com, a company offering WordPress hosting and plugins.

Sure, they contribute a lot to the WordPress project, but they do not own it.

WordPress is free and open (unlike privately owned companies)

Because the child might not want pictures of themselves on the internet. Its a right to privacy thing, at least here in the EU.

If a recipe describes 8 cups of flour, how many grams or kilograms do i need to buy then?

Metric citizin here, nobody uses "miles" here. We just go with the metric system:

1000 metres = 1 kilometre

We use the wording from your example "i live 22 kilometres from town"

I have been living without YouTube for years. That includes alternative front ends too.

Although I must admit, i have a Netflix subscription which I use very actively.

That's a good list!

I use the same, except I use LibreWolf (privacy focused fork of FF) and VS Code instead of Firefox and Notepad++

Because torrenting is strongly enforced by the law where I live, in Germany.

What do you mean still game on desktop??

Yeah and I had eggs for breakfast

Just as personal information is on a large scale. YouTube/Google/Alphabet chooses selling our information as their core business model. As far as I'm concerned, they "don't care" about the money they get from YouTube Premium.

Yeah if you use a google product and expect privacy, you dont know how google makes money.

I'd buy ETF

I ask them to use wishthis.online (FOSS)

I'm hearing about Atlas for the first time. It seems great! Is there a particular reason it shouldn't be connected to the internet?

Why am I or would I be homeless? Because I don't tip my Landlord?

I agree with you on that point: Video hosting (or more accurately: bandwidth) is extremely expensive. This is why YouTube is basically a monopoly, despite most of its users being annoyed with it (I presume).

And isolated, without the rest of Google and Alphabet, it may not be profitable, despite all of the ads it feeds us. But from my understanding, YouTube is yet another data aggregator Google uses to make money. Indirectly I bet YouTube is very valuable for Google, even if YouTube itself is not profitable.

Now treat yourself to a long vacation

I also think the arrangement of some words can be very panful.

What instance are you using?

I get my "education" from Lemmy

Oh not mine. I got 6 industrial grade 140mm case fans. My leafblower is going to take off the ground before it overheats.

I also use it to auto update my software every day so i don't have to deal with each application's "There is an update available" prompt on startup.

I like this meme.

It's really unfair that you're being downvoted. The sub name is literally No Stupid Questions. SMH.

I'm also wondering why you would stop using SemVer

Agreed, every investment has at least some kind of risk.
