Breakup Divesting the Android operating system, used on about 2.5 billion devices worldwide, is one of the remedies that’s been most frequently discussed by Justice Department attorneys, according to the people. In his decision, Mehta found that Google requires device makers to sign agreements to gain access to its apps like Gmail and the Google Play Store.

It would be wonderful

Could we have the whole context please?

Why are you, a 25-year old, without driving licence in a car dependant zone? What do you do as a job? Do you have friends? Do you have hobby where you meet people?

You sound like a prisonner at your mother’s house and your date sounds like a little issue compared to the everything else (like loneliness, no freedom to go where you please, maybe no occupation?, vulnerability to your family ….)

French, English, German and a little spoken Japanese. I also studied latin

Edit: in French we say: « Quelles langues parlez-vous ? »

There were xenophobic comments towards Russians, Ukrainians and Americans in these posts.

Also, I don't think people should insult the people of a country when they criticize its government.

I did not see any racist comments for quite some time. But xenophobic comments were common on threads about Ukraine’s invasion.

The anti-French sentiment is also present here like in the whole English speaking web.

The French aren’t known for their hygiene so I am not surprised their river is filthy

In Belgium: Tartare or Mayo. Andalouse for the gal, thanks In the UK: Salt and Vinegar In both cases: I will have to change seat if you plop yourself in front of me with your poor fries inundated by ketchup. Only the French do that, and it is a Casus Belli in my book.

I realized I was anxious about climate change because I was depressed and not the other way around. I cannot change the world radically but I can do my part, convince others to do the same, vote for the right politicians, pressure companies and politicians to act for climate change… In a nutshell I can do a lot and being depressed or anxious doesn’t help

Yes. You already know that.

Show them you can export the passwords and print them. It will help them to make the switch to know they cannot lose everything because it is on paper. It is what helped my parents

Two mains reasons:

Attracting investors

Attracting talented workers by signaling they are doing technical research

Also, people working in the industry might not even use those products. They want a cool job not a cool product

Yeah, I don’t understand either. Why isn’t he happy to be able to see his family more often? It is great news for when his parents age and when he will have kids

No, it is odd to use the singular imho. Of course it is not the polite form

I had a two laptop: one main for gaming and a shitty computer for school. I had to code on python. It was easier to setup on linux. I liked KDE. I installed kubuntu on the laptop for school.

As soon as I stopped playing videogames on my main computer I went for linux definitely

Edit: it was 10 years ago

Great ! Thank you !

Does it mean that the swiss government will become a major open source contributor ?

How do you learn kanji?

I lived for some time in Japan so I learned to talk and to read the kanji useful in the everyday life (like in the restaurant or the bus). But I feel like reading the news is still too hard and I do not even know where to start.

Sadly ipod cannot read flac. It is possible to convert to apple lossless file format

Effectivement, ta grammaire est bonne :)

Thanks ! I will check all that :)

Yeah, it is the hardest thing when learning a new language. When you learn a new concept that your language doesn’t use. For example, in Latin, German and Japanese, the grammatical case is very important but totally irrelevant in French and English. So I try when I speak French or English to think about the case. That way it comes more naturally to me when speaking German or Japanese.

Why is palantir bad ? Do you have some sources ?

Thank you. It is good to know that webcam is not important when picking a laptop for work. I will look at external ones.

LinkedIn. Needed to find a job in my domain. Also people often talk about their posts. It makes people really happy when I like a post they talked about to me. When I don’t have a job daily.

Tweeter for some very specific events. Something like two weeks a year

Hacker news when I do not have anything to do at work. I say to myself that it is to stay up to date and sometimes I can find nice blogs. I would say something like once a month.

I would also do that but sadly I do not have any spare phone and my phone has no sd card slot

Thanks for the detailed answer. Interestingly it is pretty similar to the idiomatic way to say it in French. Except for the "so"

I talk to people who knows people I know. That way I can get a recommendation for a job offer and know at what job offers I might have chances

Hahaha, this is hilarious and actually pretty cheap

Hahaha, l’influence de la Belgique est croissante en France. Depuis quelques années, on y boit des bières bien meilleures, la mayonnaise maison se généralise dans les restaurants de burgers et le gouvernement est devenu optionnel.

Staying child-free is likely the most effective personal decision you could make to reduce your environmental impact.

How do you reach this conclusion ?

I would like to know how a native german speaker would say it. But I would say like you

What’s wrong with trustcafe?

This is not your space;

Wtf ? Keep it cool man. I joined like one year ago, when it was still labeled as a leftist instance. So I'm okay with it being leftist

A community of privacy and FOSS enthusiasts, run by Lemmy’s developers

However, it is not labeled as such in the sidebar anymore. So, I thought it was going to become a more generalist instance. If not, we should recommend beehaw.org

Be respectful, especially when disagreeing. Everyone should feel welcome here.

Also, it is against rule 2 to be that exclusive.

Don't want to be that guy but... Historically, lemmy.ml was a leftist place (like radical left). The first surge of user was when a pro-CPC subreddit was banned. They created an instance that was the biggest for some time if I recall correctly (for the curious).

I like the idea. As it is already funded, i will wait for review to order it

I am not in the US. I don't like to buy second hand smartphone in my country. It is either overpriced or straight up junk, be it in the local equivalent of craiglist or in specialized store. However, It is the solution I would prefer if I can get a spare phone from someone I know (given or bought). But I have not been lucky yet. Most people I know use their phone untill they stop working or there is no sd card.

Did not know Rockbox, definitely will check it.

AIGO Eros Q or K (also sold as the HIFI WALKER H2, Surfans F20, or AGPTek H3).

Are they all the same ?

There were some that were made for french to make the orthography of words easier. They use accents generally. I do not use them and I do not know anyone that uses them.

I was thinking of Adrien Féline (https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k423752r/f42.image). I never heard of Franabugida, but it is very interesting even if I find it harder to read

How did you learn so many languages?

Thanks for the tips! It is motivating me actually :)

The simple answer is that my favorite country is where my employment and loved ones are

Same for me
