Na szmerze od samego początku. Trochę się wymądrzam i czepiam publikacji, ale to z parszywej natury i dobrych intencji. Jeśli masz jakieś pytania to śmiało pytaj - zawsze służę pomocą.

Podobno na oko jestem trochę młodszy niż sugeruje awatar.

Seems to be a pretty hardcore place;

"Basically, we’re in the process of replacing our whole social back-end with ActivityPub,” says Flipboard CEO Mike McCue. “I think Flipboard is going to be the first mainstream consumer service that existed in a walled garden that switches over to ActivityPub."

OK, that sounds good.

No point in adapting to their protocol, that's for sure.

No idea if this can be secure in any reasonable way, but one way communication based on cheap devices and available frequencies could be quite attractive for activist mass mobilisations, or disaster releasee 🤔

Same source different platform; https://mstdn.social/@noelreports/111489950957242055

Preliminary information came out that Russian Major General Volodymyr Zavadskyi, (former) Commander of the Taman Division and deputy of the 14th Army Corps has been killed, reportedly blown up by a mine today.

Could we, maybe, just have him arrested anyway, just in case?

I still have a lot of love for Mozilla, maybe since I've started using... Mozilla and even some of the recent steps of the management did not change that. But it would seem doing something like idk - integrating Fediverse elements into the browser, or pushing the concept further in some other way would be a bigger step forward, than launching an instance. Still good, sounds like a no-brainer to have one for staff/supporters, but does not push this concept as far as Mozilla has the potential to. Unless that's an element of some bigger plan I've missed?

Any source for that or is it just preemptive cynicism?

What a time to be on the internet.

Short thread on Threats followed by a paywalled article - is there maybe some better source for this?

I just wonder how much it cost Kremlin to stop the sinking of their fleet?

Oh, so they did bomb that Ukrainian village today.

"Pre-mortem" recording by him and his comrade, with auto generated English subs (understandable, but longish); https://video.echelon.pl/w/ngWvQf2dbC4rmofmnRhEiq

Everyone wants a cool origin story I guess.

Also we moved from "that looks similar-ish" to analysis of fossiles and their evolution + genetic research.

But I, and thats a fact, know very little about that, and come from times when dinosaurs did not wear any fancy feathers.

I would expect the pirate faction to intervene in EU parliement? Fediverse servers should be such a tiny fraction of overall EU server costs that this should not be a problem at all...

Takes a few seconds to find it: https://github.com/thunder-app

But if I understand OPs point correctly Thunder doesn't seem to do that. As a matter of fact, at least by default, it doesent even compact the same posts.

And yeah, missing out on being able to see comments from multiple threads (hopefully with a noticibly marked community context, so its not lost) is really missing out on the possibilities given by fedi.

Actually... a bridge between XMPP, Matrix and Fedi-based private messages would be interesting.

Would that factor in the [unknown] costs of that revenue? Running all the servers (incl youtube), offices and staff aint cheap. So more likely some is paying enough to leave 23USD on top of massive costs.

Knew about it but first time I bothered to read it and there is a bit more than just that, but hard to tell if there's any strong commitment. Have to wait and see I guess. Thanks for that link.

Thats just one feature, might be possible to implement in AP.

Can't see Audire on f-droid. Audile is there.

From what I'm seeing support was voiced for the state, not for it's communist party. In Russia they have 57 out of 450 in the lower chamber and 4 out of 178 in the higher chamber, in Belarus it's 11 out of 110 and 17 out of 64 (thanks to over-representation of state sanctioned trade unions, independent ones were destroyed after last elections). So what exact power over state politics do you expect they have and how representative is these states policy for communism?

I get the NATO bashing, but thinking either Russia or Belarus have anything in common with the concept of communism, other than history, is hilarious and strongly encourage you to discuss this with Russia-based communists. Wont go into discussing the nature of post-soviet communist parties as I have no time to educate westeners on the complex realities of this region, please do find someone from the region who you will trust enough to actually consider what they tell you.

Great idea, maybe start asking the attacking side to stop, instead of blaming the victims for their self-defence?

Official lemmy snack?

Its an industrial lockout so classically you either organize and strike even harder or burn down the capitalist pigs factory.

I just did and my lemmy instance doesn't work on it, so that was a fast test. Also opening up new windows instead of tabs/bars kinda kills the idea for me. Still a single integrated piece of software to manage all of these funky protocol streams seems like an attractive concept.

China seems to be waging a influence war against Nepal, so I wouldent be that surprised if Tiktok was used as a weapon there.

Then ask them about the average age of these party members and their actual influence on social life and state policy. Like what actual policies they got through. In reality these parties are walking corpses of state sanctioned mostly ruled by yesteryear's apparatchiks.
I've been living under one roof with Belarusians and Russians for over 10 years in a country bordering both, but love hearing explanations of what I'm seeing from such very well informed sources like your comments.

Also love your play with semantics, but could just as well claim there's anarchism in this countries, since there are active anarchist groups. Or they are antifascist states, since there's armed antifa militants in them, as that was the only way not to get killed by kremlin-aligned neonazi groups.

I'm not a statist (neither an anarchist), but these people you are trying to defend are traitors of their people, their communities, and their class. Russian mafia oligarchy is not better than the one thats being fought against in Ukraine by it's social movements. Its worse, for it's imperialism even if you imagine it has Soviet rather than it's true Tzarist sources.

Had a look to the documentation, but there's very little there over the more general notes on moderation; https://join-lemmy.org/docs/contributors/05-federation.html#moderation if you're looking for something in particular, maybe the issues in the repo might help? https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues?q=modlog

Yep. Also did a search for open issues on the repo, but can't seem to find the right one.

I had some of my classes (14-15yr olds) assemble their own computers as the first class. It was cheap junk anyway, and I was willing to risk it, but it set the stage for the year. I dont think I got them to install system on it (whole school run on Linux btw), thats a great touch. And making it into something that entertaining, and stereotypes breaking is brilliant!

Pretty sure there's no communism in Belarus or Russia, so they are supporting invading states and not communism.

Outrageous. Time to pack her up and head for a obligatory 5 day family rave.

I was just looking that up for someone else, and came by this question. So yeah, there's a two-year old request for that feature on the project repo; https://github.com/LemmyNet/jerboa/issues/190
Kinda amazed it's not considered a core functionality. So if anyone has the skill and time, it would be very helpfull to add it.

Russian tradition would be to name these people "useful idiots". Putin's regime is very effective at playing the misguided soviet-nostalgia and anti-imperialism for it's own, purely imperialistic, gains.
