I feel they are taking features and options away. I don't mind if they have a simple and advanced menu so those who want to adjust can do so, and its simple for the average user.

However, instead they treat everyone as if they are tech ikliterate. They lock it down for financial gain and call it protecting consumers.

Lol, have they just crowd sourced it?

Or the movement to microtransactions means prolonged time playing will lead to more income, whereas number of sales is completed.

Back in the day, sometimes USA TV shows would not air overseas for months depending on the schedule. Often spoilers online would ruin some parts. Piracy solved this. Then they started doing same time release worldwide but you had to use buggy streaming services and the quality was poor. Then they tried selling shows for much more than their worth on a per episode basis. Piracy fixed all these problems. Netflix was a good, reasonable solution and then they all decided to dontheor own thing. Piracy it is then.

Its funny that even Netflix knew that the greed of others was their biggest risk as they planned to be streaming HBO before HBO and others caught up. Its a pity they didn't emulate the quality.

Trust their motivation. They are worried that ai including LLM processing will be mainly on Linux and they’ll be left behind. They are just following where they think the money will be. It just happens to be good for Linux and consumer choice, but that’s a side effect, not the reason.

It just goes to show that depending on one provider is poor. Here they did the tight thing and had backups with a different provider, despite having geographic redundancies with google cloud.

They say it was a one of a kind misconfiguration but I havnt seen anywhere what that was. Could it be as simple as a payment error and enaiks going to the wrong address?

If intentional, as it would seem to be, shouldn't there be jail time too. Or is that inky for people that steal less than a million?

If it’s not ready to play, don’t do a playtest. They want to have their cake and eat it. The playtest is for publicity, not testing.

The pill that needs to be swallowed is large companies losing money if they ask for data too.

Sure, those who want can hand over their data. Those that don't can decode not to and sail the seas instead of paying.

I certainly won't pay for games on of that force a PlayStation account despite having a PlayStation.

Its community based so his opinion could be ignored, unlike when he's on a board and his opinion was ignored.

The idea is to encourage the opposite. If they want access to furnace, Germany, Italy, they need to make it available in smaller countries. It becomes financially viable to cater to small countries when not doing so loses the big countries.

So, even at full release, there could be bugs. That makes the suppression of actual opinions worse. If people didn’t call out unfinished projects, they would not get fixed. If they want preorders, stop making buggy mess games.

Employees do testing, already covered by an NDA. Content creators do publicity. If they are restricted to no negative publicity, then they are not reliable and it’s dishonest.

Because the community response was negative. It didn't end up there by mistake. It was put there.

Doing stuff with friends, undocumented.

I'm surprised they made 440m. However, investing in r+d is not unusual. This amount is not a huge investment for them based in overall revenue.

Software for equipment and software for imaging etc. I work in healthcare. I’d love to use Linux but we’re stuck on software that is based on Java from 8 years ago, as the newer version is not compatible with some older equipment. Add to that, the newer version costs $500 per user to upgrade with no additional features, and this is just for one medical camera, that treats the camera like a webcam. The problem is how it stores images is in a custom database, through a server. Otherwise, the Java part should be easy enough.

Medical equipment is super expensive and they only make a few thousand of some of them. So, the software is super expensive too and not updated nor is there versions for Mac or Linux. Heck, most of them don’t officially support windows 10 or 11. It’s really frustrating too, as most are really a simple bridge that connects to the machine to give instructions or receive data. They are not usually drivers, but send data over the network. An open format would suit better for security too, as all this old software will be pretty leaky.

So, no warning, indiscriminate attacks that will, purposely harm civilians? This is awful. Hamas have already said they will execute hostages if there are unwarned attacks, so we can expect this to escalate on both sides.

So fine them and require all governemtn documents and legal documents of anybkind to be in a true open format. Its only a compatibility problem if people continue to use their format.

They do, which is why distraction is so important.

I think the difference is welf defense in Europe is defending your person, not your property. If someone breaks in, you don't have the right to hurt them. You call the police. If they were trying to attack you or you alerting them to your presence makes them come for you, then of course you can defend yourself.

Self defence is just that. Defence of the self.

One thing that your 2a right also means is that your criminals are likely to be armed. Ours are less likely to be and certainly much less likely for petty crime. The police in Ireland, for instanc, don't carry guns.

If someone breaks into my house. I'm not approaching them with hugs. I'm calling the police and grabbing a golf club or poker or similar.

Ireland is generally supportive of Palestinian freedom, given their history. This extends back well before the recent horrific Hamas terrorist attacks. Israel and Ireland have a rocky relationship, including Israel using fake irish passports for agents. Ireland is not antisemitic, but Israel obviously tries to paint them that way.

They can declare whatever they want. The ex users won't hear or rebut.

Are ads news now?

Ugh, if only we knew we could have fixed it years ago by saying we’re tired of it. That would have saved a lot of hassle.

Research into vaccines doesn’t preclude any of those conversations and coronavirus still uses up lots of health resources. Better vaccines for new variants would help healthcare in general.

And telephones use numbers and they print phone books. Lol. That’s just ridiculous. It seems on the face of it to be a purposeful misinterpretation to skirt the law. Could there be consequences for that?

Wow, talk about trying to scare people into not protesting. However, it could have the opposite effect. Take away from the protestors and they have less to lose. They may start to shine a light on injustices at home, too.

I imagine each grid is built to expected temperatures. So if it unusual for the area, it is problematic. I know my parent has similar weather in Ireland about 15 years ago and all the water pipes were frozen so they lost running water. That was about 15 degrees c colder than usual, about 10 degrees colder than I ever remember growing up. Texas has had recurrent problems too with their grid. Australia has had problems due to flooding. It’s just another effect of global warming.

Irish folklore has lots. Banshees are pretty famous. It’s a ghostly wailing you hear at night. When you hear it someone dies.

One of the nicer stories is children cursed to be swans instead of people due to an evil stepmother. They end up outliving everyone and moving to the land of youth, as swans.

Fairies are evil.

Butterflies are a link to the other world.

Hell is cold, as a hot hell, like Christian hell, was considered to provide a small amount of comfort.

To be fair, the companies are raking in huge profits on the vaccines still. They can afford to do faster research themselves. If the public coffers pay, they should get equity.

I assume they mean in the original term, that technology should be used to make life better, not to damage peoples employment.

Hamas using hospitals as human shields is horrific. Israel ignoring the human shields is horrific.

IDF are just clarifying they are awful, as much as Hamas are.

Crashed the family car on my first day driving. Into our house. Our driveway is a mini hill with a turn to get in and then loop to the side with the corner of the house being at the corner. Accelerating up the little hill meant the house jumped in front of the car! As it was my first time driving, the blame was placed. Firmly on dad, as teacher.

Luckily the damage wasn't too bad to repair, but still the two most expensive things were broken on one day.

Universal basic income means no requirement to do anything.

However as a worker in healthcare, I'd probably continue as I am.

So not only does each stock holder own less of the company as a percent but the actual value of their stock is also lower.

This is normal for a company, when it releases more stock, as the cononay foes not magically become worth more. What's odd is releasing more while its already tanking and needing the funds so soon after it floated.

I winder where the money is going?

It used to work years ago. It's not a technology problem. They changed their policy around location based reminders. One of the reasons I'm degoogling. I got rid of apple products too when they got rid of Google maps in favour of apple maps. Forcing a poorer product on users shows contempt for users.

Yeah, nah. It was an oppurtunity for aboriginal and Torres straight islanders to be heard.

There has been years of inner dialogue, and discussion with both parties. That led to the Uluṟu statement from the heart, which called for voice, treaty, truth.

The first step was voice. It was not designed by white people but came from within the discussions between mobs.

It was not divisive or destroying equality. As it stands, the constitution was changed to allow Lars specifically targeting ATSI people. This was a way to ensure they had a voice of reply. On all measures, they are faring worse than all other Australians.

Many people voted no with good intent, or because they were unsure, but make no mistake, this was a step backwards for our country, a step backwards in race relations and a victory for racists.

I’m not saying all those who voted no are racist. However, all the racists voted no. Sometimes you need to look at who’s on your side and why.

I'm not trans, but I sympathise. Just a heads up from an outside perspective. Even your language has some of that internalizes transphobia.

You say I don't want to be a trans woman. I simply want to be a woman.

You are a woman. Likely you always were and always will be l. Transitioning is just affirming that, not changing your gender.

As a cis person, when I read that you want to be a woman, it means to me you don't consider yourself one. I'm not trying to create drama for you, but trying, poorly, to point out how you can start affirming yourself more in your language.

Collectively, for all of us, it makes sense to not bow to societal pressure and to be our true selves, always. However, as you point out, it's not always safe to do that, so individually, we need to practice caution. Over time, hopefully individually and as a society, there is increasing acceptance. Same sex marriage is just made legal in Greece, for instance. I now will travel there with my family openly. Previously I might not.

More severe penalties is still following the legal system. I completely agree that it should all be by the book, but letting him flout the law with minimal repurcuasions undermines the law, not strengthens it.

As you say, there should be equivalency in justice, otherwise it's unjust.

If you’re attracted to both genders, then you’re bi whether you act on it or not. I think it’s more than just being an ally. People are recognising their sexuality more and not afraid to express it. The Kinsey studies would show it’s more of a spectrum than a binary. I think some older people in the lgbtqi community are less accepting of bisexuality as a concept, probably due to people using it as a deflection, or phase when exploring their sexuality historically. They might then choose not to express it due to intolerance, which led to people misunderstanding that bosexual people are just as valid. If you’re bisexual in a cos heterosexual relationship, you’re still bisexual, just like in the past gay people would live heterosexual lives. It didn’t make them straight. Being part of the lgbtqi community is not about having a shared experience of prejudice. The whole community activism purpose is to ensure that there is no prejudice in the future.
