German guy fed up with reddit for now

There's a lemmynsfw instance housing many communities with adult content I think

Counter point: Nobody knows how to operate printers and scanners because they are not build by people that are tech literate.

Give a printer or scanner a proper UI using the design principles that modern apps use and see how easy newer generations pick things up

I mean, FF is the default browser and this also might rub some people the wrong way - having the developer of the only relevant free and open, non-google browser bow to a dictatorship

Right in the linuxy

Afaik it stems from the 196 community, which was a subreddit with only one rule - dont leave without posting something. Posts there had to be titled "Rule" (or at least include the word, Im not sure)

So you mean you are a dedicated tool?

Same, there's dozens of us. We're like the mutants in X-Men but cooler

Programming is quite literally creative problem solving, so I doubt that programmers lack creativity.

Upvoted for considering the french to not be normal, regardless of your edit.

Disabled nsfw for now, before that I tried blocking all the creepy celebrity-communities. There's one for every third rate female celeb under the sun and the guys posting there are spamming every picture with a hint of cleavage or leg.

This picture only shows that both of these cars have lights, a rear window and possibly rear wheels. Also they are both red

You're only using punctuation because you've been brainwashed

Was not a take I was expecting in this thread

Basado.

Dont forget that Spotify abuses its market position by basically milking smaller artists dry.

Does anybody know of a good alternative that doesnt involve either storing hundreds of albums on CD or piracy?

C# adds a bad part called Microsoft (yes, Mono exists, it's still Microsoft Java)

I like TypeScript (and Python) like I like duct tape

It isnt the best solution, it's not the most elegant, but it's the quickest to implement and can be used basically wherever

Pixel Dungeon! Great rogue like mobile game

Same boat here. Some stuff is so counterintuitive that it's frustrating. For example, I want to turn Bluetooth off, since it's my work phone and I rarely need to connect headphones to it - why cant I turn it off properly through the quick access menu? Same with wifi, who tought it was a good idea to turn off bluetooth and wifi until the next day, with Bluetooth not even being properly turned off and instead just put into "do not pair" mode?

The overall experience is smooth and everything feels uniformous and well engineered, but some design decisions werent made by actual humans I swear.

Queue the "I'm still worthy" thor meme

Autocomplete and Clippy havent translated a script from one language into another for me without major errors yet.

I mean, why not? If you're not necessarily a gamer or need computing power for dev stuff, why buy the latest and greatest?

In the end, buying new hardware every other release is also just consumerism. The performance of a modern day mid range CPU is absolutely overkill for everyday use

Absolutely magnificent game. I wish we got more mid sized games instead of every new game being a 100h+ second job.

You also have to consider that roots homedir is in /root and not home, so if you'd just assume it's /home/$USER you'd get in trouble when your programm is run or compiled as root.

Yea, because "What's your fields of study most complex, unanswered question" is a perfect english sentence

Do you mean "provinces" as in federal states or as in hillbilly regions?

I run Ubuntu with Gnome on my linuxed Surface. Ubuntu because I wanted something that works and since I mostly browse the web with it. I personally prefer Gnome for touch interfaces because a lot of it works intuitively with a touch screen.

Note that there's the surface-linux kernel, with the default kernel, some things might not work out of the box.

Something marketing and having your service not appear dysfunctional or buggy to the stupid, stupid enduser

It might just be local network traffic or a dev env. Not to mention that https is just unnecessary overhead for some usecases, especially when only GETting data.

Dirty Deeds and Thunder Chief sound like Jojo characters

Not really. HiFi Rush reminded me a little bit of Lego Star Wars (which also Had a mechanic that made you deal more damage if you attacked on beat with your lightsaber!), but that may have been my nostalgia for the Lego game more than some deeper similarities

In Germany, its called Milchreis and is a very popular dish especially for children. Rice (usually the thicker variants thats youd use for Risotto), milk, sugar, cinnamon

Either, ants would destroy us, or theyd be glued to social media and started infighting for completely arbitrary reasons

The downtown area is relatively safe (some recent gun clown activity in nightlife areas but it's the USA after all) and populated.

This doesnt exactly match my definition of "completely save"
