Those are all perfectly cromulent words

For anyone that needs to hear this. You can't be reasonable with unreasonable people. Don't judge yourself by their standards. Do the right thing and focus what's under your control.

So they made the immigration minister the housing minister and now he wants to cut immigration? When all you have is a hammer...

A bit of shade implied at r/photoshopbattles but all their submissions are blank images which is not a bad way to protest

The scary part is how many people just don't seem to care. Hey, did you know you can get cheap bullshit on Temu? The idea that you'll one day have to compete for your job with someone with an implant is scary, not for them because they signed up at betterhelp.com to have a professional talk them off a ledge once a week. Hopefully they won't be much of a threat because of all the single people in their area. Also, boner pills anyone?

Yes but it's risky. The poop on the 4th day may make you have to retile your bathroom.

Revanced did this and it's infuriating. I just hop in once in a while and ask the same dumb question because I can't be arsed to scroll up 200 posts to find the answer; just to underscore this point.

What in the right wing random bullshit word generator is this?

Nei Degrasse Tyson on the other hand is the nicest guy. Used to live near him and had a few short conversations. Always made time for people and is a genuinely cool dude.

Here's my vague understanding of why this happens with melatonin; if someone can correct me I'll have learned something.

Taking supplements your body naturally produces, like melatonin, creatine, and some weight loss products in large doses makes your body turn off its own production. You're also training your body to process and live with more than it needs, and considering it always wants to reach homeostasis, you end up needing more of it to have the same effect (like many drugs).

Back in the 90's a lot of people on diet pills ended up gaining a lot of weight back once they stopped taking the pill because their bodies took a long time to produce the same chemicals naturally, having essentially been overdosed for a while.

It's Switzerland. While I don't know the answer to your question, having grown up there and in the states, I wanted to compare the cereal industries and how they tried to promote a healthier lifestyle. Then this happened: (from Wikipedia)

An early proponent of the germ theory of disease, Kellogg was well ahead of his time in relating intestinal flora and the presence of bacteria in the intestines to health and disease. The sanitarium approached treatment in a holistic manner, actively promoting vegetarianism, nutrition, the use of enemas to clear "intestinal flora", exercise, sun-bathing, and hydrotherapy, as well as the abstention from smoking tobacco, drinking alcoholic beverages, and sexual activity. Kellogg dedicated the last 30 years of his life to promoting eugenics and segregation.

Stunning

That and movies just suck nowadays. This is partially old man yelling at cloud stuff but also true since the death of DVD's means studios won't take risks anymore since they can't recoup funds after a poor box office.

All Glory!

Mazel tov!

I've used vanced and revanced since day one and always checked the stickied reddit post for any update notes before upgrading to the latest patch set. Revanced decided to migrate to Discord which is possibly the dumbest place they could have gone to (read: I don't know how to use it to quickly find relevant patch notes and am angry about it), and I feel like updating to a new version is a crapshoot.

Do you know of a better place to find out which versions are compatible with the latest APK and where to get support if something breaks?

I think taking over subs will lead to a chain reaction of other subs blacking out again in protest ad nauseum. Good luck getting enough moderators to fill the void. He'll end up with a smaller number of generic large subs full of mediocre content for people he can more easily monetize; exactly what he wants.

This got me thinking about how different types of street performers evolve in different cultures around the world. In NYC it's apparently psychopaths in Elmo costumes looking to fucking fight you.

Would love to read more about the Bluetooth lag. Does it affect Bluetooth dac's like the fiio btr5 as well?

Much appreciated!

Much appreciated

Haha yeah and it's totally not 40...

At this point the unnecessary anxiety I've put myself through can be collectively measured in years.

Mines a balloon you blow up but let go of before tying the knot... same sound too

Appreciate it, new to it all

Alright. I'm convinced Lemmy is the future if this is the quality of replies here. Nicely done!

My issue is that many large communities are on lemmy.ml but trying to subscribe to them from other instances isn't working for me, it's just perpetually stuck at pending.

Seems like they are more focused on fixing the code for the whole community (which is good) rather than their own instance right now.

Not surprised that NYC is overcorrecting once again. I work in the industry and out of 2500 apartments we estimate around 20 are tenants involved in short term rentals. The last two we caught were even people that rent multiple rent-stabilized apartments and run their own business on Airbnb. This not only puts a pressure on unit supply in general but also specifically removes affordable housing opportunities for those in need.

At least with the buildings I'm involved in, the bigger issue is the state removing any ability to raise rents on vacant rent-stabilized units. We have at least 60 units sitting vacant indefinitely because it would take over 5 years to recover the cost of fixing up the unit and getting it rented. This rule was meant to stop shitty landlords drom taking advantage of tenants but if their focus was on tenant protection laws instead of completely removing all incentives to invest capital in old units they wouldn't have swapped one issue for another.

I'm sure there are legitimate uses for Airbnb that have now been completely eliminated and we'll see unintended consequences down the line.
