Earth is the only planet that we’re adapted to live on. Nowhere else will be as forgiving of our mistakes.

She should really be using a dry kitchen towel to grip that wok, if she were serious about achieving proper wok hei.

This is so annoying. It goes into a full screen ad as soon as you turn it on, so I babysit the remote and navigate to an app as soon as it turns on, in order to avoid ads. It also does this if you let the TV idle, which I also hate. I might just throw it away and go back to hooking up a laptop to the TV instead. I paid $70-ish bucks for this stupid thing.

Edit: I just remembered that you can hack these fire sticks, so i’ll probably try that first.

Mine is drawing. I’ve had other hobbies and have other things that I enjoy doing, but drawing is the most engaging thing for me. Your standards always outpace your ability, so there’s never a moment when you feel like you’ve accomplished everything you could’ve accomplished. There’s always something new to draw or learn about.

Textless version cuz it’s cute

Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, which elevates blood pressure by causing your blood vessels to constrict.

I’m partial to the Judges’ guns, particularly from the Urban-led movie, as I’ve not delved much into the comics.

Also, I think this falls more into the fantasy category, but I love the chonkiness of Hellboy’s Samaritan.

Is this a joke riffing on the fact that May 9th is Go(5) Ku(9) day?

Guns would definitely fuck up the roof of my mouth :(

I drew it, cuz I like pokeymans.

I bought it about 6 hours ago and am only taking a break cuz I was hungry and needed to use the restroom. Then I’ll probably play some more until I get too sleepy.

I’m having a blast with the game. It feels like a mix between Pokémon and Valheim.

No real bugs encountered so far. The only bug I’ve experienced since I’ve started playing is that respawning at my base places me inside some vertical terrain, and that’s partially my fault for needing to place objects so close to the walls that they’re practically clipping.

!Artshare@lemmy.world is a decent, general purpose art-centric community. People submit their personal art work, and the skill level seems to have a pretty broad range, which I like.

Others, like !traditional_art, !Digitalart, etc. seem to have a high bar when it comes to submitting art, so I think that those types of communities tend to center more on sharing/posting others’ artwork (i.e., professional/advanced artists, etc.)

There are other ones like !drawing and !learntodraw where the focus isn’t so much on quality/finished artwork, but the community seems dead.

I’m in.

“Cel” stands for celluloid, which was used and painted on for classic animation (which popularized the simple flat color painting style that you see imitated in modern cel-shading).

I’m using Memmy, Voyager, and Mlem.

I started with Memmy, but then started favoring Voyager, which was said to be the closest to Apollo in functionality and design. Then i noticed that Voyager always omitted comments from a certain instance, so I’d only get one side of the conversation, so I switched to favoring Mlem, which I’m really enjoying at the moment.

Now that I’ve given it a try, I think that I would continue using Mlem even if Voyager fixed that particular issue. It has a really nice level of polish and hasn’t had any issues with crashing, unlike Liftoff or Thunder, which I’ve dropped completely.

Yeah - I'm currently playing solo so I can progress at my own pace.

Haha, any kind of ink works for me, as long as I can draw with it! Also, I'm always looking for art communities on Lemmy, so I just joined!

Currently, I'm doing studies of mechanical joints and greebles to improve my ability to draw hard surface stuff (e.g. mechs, vehicles, inorganic constructs), and I'm also drawing a shitpost meme when I need to take a break from studying! :)

When browsing comments on Lemmy, I would see what looked to be top-level comments that were clearly replies to another comment, but the comment it was responding to wouldn't be displayed. After this kept happening, I decided to try viewing the thread through another app (i may have been using an account from another lemmy instance, which I'm guessing may be pertinent) and then I would be able to see the actual top-level comment that was being responded to.
