I don't know what you mean, I'm blocking all of them.

They fail to mention that when GoT started in 2011, HBO wasn't available at all without a cable TV subscription, so people who had already dropped cable didn't have any other choice. HBO streaming without cable didn't become available until 2015.

I'd like a hide post button. I sometimes want to hide posts, but not usually ones I've interacted with.

DDG is mostly sourced from Bing already. It isn't hard to test this, just do a search on both sites in private mode and you get the same top results.

They will sell access to that 18 years of content. They don't want it able to be scraped in any way.

That was my thought. Most games that are on both PC and Switch are not big enough to want to pay Denuvo for their services. Any game that is big enough to care probably also can't afford to take the Denuvo performance hit (that they claim doesn't exist) on the under-powered Switch.

Just tried it and it still works perfectly fine.

So, just buy property and sell it for an inflated value in the near future. Repeat forever. Sounds like an amazing plan. What reason could someone possibly have for not doing this? Can anyone think of one?

Also, the idea that real estate is required to go up in value no matter what is sort of insane.

On a large phone (so almost all of them) gesturing is much easier than reaching for a button. When I first switched it was slightly awkward because of muscle memory, but after a while gestures felt much better.

In the US I've never met anyone that uses WhatsApp. I think this is because texting was free for everyone here for a long time before it came out, so there was no real reason to move to a messaging app over what was already built in and free.

You will find it very difficult to get help with game piracy on linux just because the community is very small. If the game has a native release it will be even harder since most linux users want to support developers that do native releases. I've only ever tried a couple games that I had no problems with and that was a few years ago. These days if it has a native release I will always just buy it.

Compared to Meta, all other instances are small.

Same. On my account and when logged out the first result is about Kenya. This is happening because of personalized search.

Yes, this will just mean that game publishers will set one price for the whole EU which will be based on the income in the richest countries. They can still geoblock countries outside of the EU, just not within it.

From a FOSS standpoint, AMD is clearly better since Nvidia doesn't provide an open source driver and actively prevents one from being developed (that is feature complete) by anyone else.

From a gaming standpoint, I don't think it makes much difference either way. Both companies make cards and have drivers that work very well for Linux gaming. Nvidia are usually a bit faster at supporting new cards on Linux, but that only matters if you are buying a card right at launch.

The main sticking point is Wayland vs Xorg. While you CAN use an Nvidia card for Wayland at this point, you are likely to run into some issues and it won't be as nice of an experience as AMD. Nvidia will probably fully support Wayland eventually, but there is no guarantee.

Finally, if you need CUDA you just go with Nvidia.

It really comes down to your exact needs and how much you care about open source software as a principle.

I'd love to live and work somewhere where I could bike. The distance to my current job would be doable for me but there is zero bike infrastructure to make it feasible.

The company giving them away is being sued.

EndeavourOS is basically Arch with a nice installer and a few extra QoL packages while Manjaro manages their own repositories and adds things like mhwd that change system management to be a little different than Arch.

I much prefer Endeavour since I already do everything from the command line anyway. Also, while most info about Arch applies to Manjaro it doesn't always and I found that very annoying when trying to troubleshoot.

I've also installed Arch a few times and it went fine, but the Endeavour installer is a much nicer experience.

Top result on Google is newpipe.net for me. Perhaps NewPipe has already submitted a counter notice and it has been restored? That's how the DMCA is supposed to work.

2% is more than double the usual share prior to the steam decks release.

For instances that are mostly for discussion, its pretty pointless to stay subscribed.

My 6yo gets a ton of ads for insurance, about the same amount as for toys. It's weird.

Threads is basically a new feature of Instagram, they don't even talk about it as something that is distinct from it.

I only torrent TV shows which are quite well covered by public trackers so I don't have to bother with private trackers. I also feel like private trackers go against the spirit of bittorrent. I also use a seedbox and sftp for privacy from my ISP and so I can seed all the time without using my own bandwidth.

I will just downvote and move on with things that I don't really want to see in a community like low effort posts. Also, if there is already a good response on why some post is wrong I will just add votes since adding my own reply doesn't add much.

To be fair, they are pretty highly defederated compared to most instances.

Yes, but the lack of legal options is what leads to these types of crimes. The 20 week abortion restriction in Nebraska was already the case prior to Roe being overturned, but has since been changed to 12 weeks. It still highlights the fact that more women are going to be prosecuted for crimes that they wouldn't be committing if they had any legal option.

On android the app used to beg you to make it the default SMS app all the time, so lots of people probably use it without really trying to.

I haven't used NixOS but it does sound interesting. From what I gather all you need is your configuration.nix file to rebuild the entire system the same as it was before. I think for sure the biggest thing I would miss is the AUR.

They show those 3 minute ads because they get paid a lot for them. My favorite are the 30 minute documentary ads.

I believe you just want to comment out the cdrom entry in the sources.list file.

The only ones I know of currently are eztv.re and torrentgalaxy.to.

I don't think they will implement ActivityPub if its already successful. I think it was a hedge against it failing to gain traction so they could claim to have millions of users either way.

See this issue.

I just did the suggested workaround and that worked. It also seems that installing lib32-libnm is probably a better fix, I'll try that when I get home today.

I'd guess .net is only needed for the launcher, did you try just skipping it?

Set launch options to...
eval $( echo "%command%" | sed "s/Launcher\/LariLauncher.exe'.*/bin\/bg3_dx11.exe'/" )

That is good to know, but if you are missing something it seems you need to package it yourself. I'm sure I could do that, just not sure I really want to be doing it.

My work better provide me a phone if they want me to use it for work.

The vast majority of nvidia system breakage complaints I see seem to come from users of Ubuntu or it's derivatives. I've been on arch based distros for 6 years now and every pc or laptop I've owned in that time has been nvidia and I have never had any problems.

For most people there are good enough solutions for music without piracy.

7th Guest was rated T. You are probably thinking of Phantasmagoria which had a controversial rape scene and got an M rating.
