Am I the only one who thinks it's wild that he's allowed to use campaign finance for legal defense fees? I'd think and hope that campaign donations would have a narrowly defined set of uses.

Not having a central authority means you have no real power to stop someone

This is demonstrating the exact opposite. Community organization is valid.

You guys just don't understand how hard it is to make yourself think of other humans as important. This takes practice and effort! I spend 10 minutes a day thinking of how other people might feel and it's exhausting. Anyway, the spreadsheet numbers are smaller than they used to be, so I'll just do a round of layoffs.

Thanks for the honest take, a lot of people get caught up in the idea that if an organization does something that aligns with them, they are good or doing it for the same reasons.

Reading further, walking is only counted at a 0.3 : 1 ratio of distance, for no conceivable reason. So you can run for ~12 minutes or walk for ~1 hr, it seems.

But why should my bonus be tied to something that is not at all related to my work? Should I get a pay cut if I eat a Dorito? Am I worthy enough of a pittance, CEO? Or should I be jumping through literal hoops?

Evangelical's whole platform is divine authority to rule. It ties right in with colonialism, white supremacy, and fascism. "I'm right 'cause I say my god said so". But I also believe that most Christian's today would crucify Christ all over again as a communist.

I'm all for the workers getting better wages. Indeed, let's 4x them. 10x them. We are drowning in garments from fast fashion, we do not need more garments. In the past, clothing was heirloom because of the effort and resources to create it. And it's fun for us to flaunt how little money it costs now. But our landfills are overflowing with clothes. Impoverished countries are refusing clothes donations.

The collapse has climate changes 10x faster than the rise and is irreversible (on human time-scales). The movie Day After Tomorrow was an over-the-top movie about the AMOC collapse. So while we won't get an instant ice-age, it sounds like most everybody is gonna have a bad time (especially low-elevation coastal regions).

People do this already, check Foundation for Intentional Community. You can find communities near you that are open to visitors or new residents and check them out.

Make sure you're well acquainted with the traits of cults to keep yourself safe. There are groups out there that are fundraising and building infrastructure for new communities, as well, so there are many ways to get involved.

I don't agree with the assertion that fake reviews don't benefit them, but I may be missing something. Reviews help drive consumer behavior and more reviews lead to more sales from those who are unable or unwilling to be more discerning. (Amazon takes a cut)

For others, it the idea or presence of fake reviews might drive them to a "trusted" Amazon Basics alternative, also leading to sales with a higher margin for Amazon.

Additionally, recycling listing ASINs is a common tactic that Amazon could stop and is a source of "fake" (or at least, irrelevant in content and misleading in score) reviews. There's minimal enforcement of rules for review integrity, such as verified purchases or quid pro quo "warranties" and "free gifts" for 5 star reviews.

All the evidence I see points to Amazon preferring the status quo.

Really, I think you nailed it as far as the three categories of reactions go. Of course, the manifestations will be as varied as humans are.

I'm working towards building intentional community that's equipped to help it's members and hopefully neighbors to get through. But that's because I'm a super-privileged north american who is located in what I consider one of the least-likely-to-be-unlivable spots. Other than the unpleasantness of the collapse of society, I'm just hoping that climate refugees don't decide to come murder us all for our resources.
