Apparently it's pretty common to find guns. There was a video floating around a while ago of some guys that pulled up a gun and called the cops to report it and turn it in. The cops were mostly annoyed about the whole thing though.

We've got a 2019 Rav and I can't remember how, but you can adjust the height that the door opens to by some series of button pushes. We had to lower it so that it doesn't hit the frame of the garage door when opening it inside the garage. Maybe just adjust it so that it doesn't open all the way and it'll be easier for her to reach the button?

My understanding is that we cannot. I've seen people talking about it maybe becoming a thing in the future, but right now the only option is to just go register your name on another instance. Alternatively, I guess you can host your own instance with just you (or a few friends I guess) and then you control what gets federated, but for me that seems like a little too much work right now. I may consider that in the future if I had more free time.

Thank you for clearing that up. I feel like I've heard both yes and no to this question. Still learning everything so it's hard to recall what was correct. Also just want to say how cool it is that people don't make you feel dumb for being wrong here. That's one thing I will not miss about Reddit.

I believe they are referred to as PWA or progressive web app. I'm using Voyager ( formerly wefwef) right now and it's a pretty solid experience. Been bouncing back and forth between this and Memmy since day one. Voyager is my favorite because it feels like Apollo.

Yeah my Lemmy.ninja account stopped working a few days ago. No clue why, or even where to look to find out. I hope it wasn't just lack of funding because I gladly would have donated.

I would prefer that we all de-federate from any corporations. If they are federated they will certainly be slurping up EVERYTHING they can touch, whether or not it's on their instance. As far as the 30m users, I'm pretty sure anyone with an Instagram account automatically has a threads account so the numbers are inflated from the amount of people actually using it.

Edit: I was wrong about the Instagram=Threads account thing. I still don't believe those numbers though.

It's been amazing for me. It actually helped me slash through a bunch of my backlog. Games I've finished on deck: Aperture Desk Job, Axiom Verge 1&2, Braid, Bro Force, Darq, Deaths Door, Eternal Hope, Guacamelee 2, Inside, Journey, Limbo, Ori 1&2, Portal 1&2, Shady Part of Me, Stanley Parable, Stella, Stray, Trine 1,2,3&4, Unbound (Worlds Apart), Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves (so 4 & Lost Legacy), Vesper, and Yooka-Laylee. Currently playing Hollow Knight. Performance has been great, even played Sea of Thieves with friends online and it was solid. I go through periods where I don't play much but with the deck it seems easier to just fire something up and dive in. Especially because of quick resume.

I just snagged a 256gb pro endurance for $19.99. It's for my dashcam, already got a TB in the deck.

I really enjoy iced/ cold brew coffee but always felt dumb paying $5 or more for it, especially because of the waste. I bought a cold brew pitcher and some travel mugs, and now I can have my coffee for pennies a day with no waste. Only downside is you have to remember to make it at least 12 hours before you want it.

Edit to add: Total price for the pitcher and mugs was equal to about 8 cups of coffee from a coffee shop.

Wefwef is pretty great so far. It's working better today than yesterday when I started. Hoping that trend continues and looking forward to seeing things grow here. I imported my subreddit list from Apollo and found a bunch of similar communities to follow. I'm pretty impressed with how much engagement I'm seeing on some of them.
