Trans woman | She/her | From Atlanta. 20+ years experience machining. I like to make video edits based on Star Trek, with the occasional meme.

AT Launcher for Minecraft has a native Linux package. I know that isn't the particular launcher you asked for, but it works great.

maybe we make a usenet group as well?

I am in NW GA. We occasionally get some fallout from hurricanes here, but I'm not sure how long it's been since I've seen this much rain, and at time of writing there's still time before the actual storm(s?) hits.

I mean, yeah. That isn't necessarily the point here, though. There's a lot of frustration surrounding the need for private trackers and we could maybe solve that here.

It's insidious!

My biggest gripe with Organic Street Maps (and every OSM) client that I've tried is that I can't find a way to display the destination address when I get close. I do some delivery work and that drives me crazy. Otherwise, it's great.

Thanks for the reminder. Ordered mine.

Honestly, this is just a joke of a post. You're right in that ideally there would be no gendered hierarchy at all. It just tends to be male gendered people that punch down.

Yeah. This post should be only taken as a joke.

I am not French, but tried to look it up. I couldn't find anything except him being a billionaire which should be enough.

Seriously. His recent comments are vile.

They very much do exist, though. Often used sketchily with generators.

I only skimmed the article, but it didn't seem to define what is meant by "AI" and that trend frustrates me to no end.

Hitachi is one of those companies that makes just about everything. I've made parts for them that are used in nuclear power generation.

This game desperately needs and deserves a full Neverwinter Nights style toolkit. I hope we get there one day.

I had never seen this before and took a look. And.... wow. Words fail me.

If it were me that designed this, I would license out the design for manufacturers to use in their production models instead of making some kind of attachment that is unlikely to work on all models. That seems much more likely to achieve the goal of reducing noise from leaf blowers long term. Get like 3 manufacturers on board that could even charge a premium, and you have reduced the noise potentially forever while still making a tidy profit.

I'm the weirdo that has a full cnc machine shop at home. I was a cnc machinist for 20 years, though. Brain fog from covid killed my ability to do it, though. I do miss it, because that is something I truly love doing.

This is fantastic and incredibly well made. Does anyone have the source?

You had a convincing comment, up until the last statement where you lost the plot.

What if I am happiest while snorting cocaine from the middle of a book on stream?

The misnumbered/not numbered houses is still a big issue. GPS can only be relied on to get you in the general area, and even then sometimes it points you to the middle of a field.

My real gripe is apartments. People will often fail to give you the apartment number and even if they do, every single complex has their own numbering system and layout. There is one complex near here where the signs on the buildings are completely illegible at night due to the lights above them casting shadows. I hate having to go there.

That was one of the most awkward things I've ever seen. I'm surprised that Luke didn't scream for Dan to shut off the stream.

An orange slice was squeezed above the head of the kid that was the lowest in the social hierarchy in order to cover them in juice.

Do you want Khan Noonien Singh? Because that's how you get Khan Noonien Singh.

At a shop that I used to work at, there were some large CNC routers that had aftermarket controls on them. They all ran Windows. On one particular machine, they forgot to Uninstall the Space Cadet Pinball.

We would spend way too much time playing that while appearing to work while the machine ran. One guy eventually ruined it by opening it in front of the boss.

I have pretty bad misophonia. It's only really triggered by certain sounds (sand paper and chewing being the biggest offenders) but when it happens I literally go into fight or flight mode and freak the fuck out. I am a machinist by trade and needing to avoid sand paper at all costs really affects my life severely.

Per the lawsuit, PFLAG National states that it would be required to disclose Texas trans youth members, including “complete names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, jobs, home addresses, telephone numbers, [and] email addresses.” It also states they would need to hand over documents and communications related to their medical care, hospitals outside the state, and “contingency plans” discussed among members for navigating the new laws on gender-affirming care in Texas.

What the actual fuck? Trying to get enough information to ruin them for the rest of their lives. This isn't only reprehensible from the targeting of LGBT people, it is the worst proposed privacy nightmare I've heard of any US based government proposing. I... I need to go throw up.

I live in GA. From what I can tell, the people that use the libraries here absolutely love them (myself included). Even in this relatively small city, the libraries in this network are fairly well funded and have the more modern awesome stuff going on that proper city libraries have.

That being said, I don't recall a time in the last decade when I was one of more than 4 or so member of the public in there at any time. It sucks. A lot. I guess that my point here is that you're unfortunately likely correct, but those of us that use or need our surprisingly good libraries will fight tooth and nail to keep them as well as maintain the standards they currently have.

The overall concensus in my area is that libraries are great, but nobody uses them, and the asshats in power will (and have before) see that and try to take the systems down for meaningless budget cuts.

The whole thing infuriates me.

So much was lost with PhotoBucket. A mind boggling amount of information is just gone.

I will never work a day shift again if I can help it. Absolute misery waking up like that.

This ties into the comment I was going to make separately. For context, my dad recently passed. First father's day without him. My mom asked to watch a movie that meant something to the both of them because they saw it together in a drive in on release and it was very memorable because the technology and techniques used were fascinating at the time. She complained that it wasn't on Disney+ or anywhere.

You may have guessed it, but she requested Song of the South. One serious moral quandary later, I got it ready for her to watch.

Tomorrow is gonna be rough, but at least my sailing might bring some good memories for her.

I have noticed the biggest quality decline in produce. I have had real trouble finding stuff that hasn't already started to rot or be riddled with worms etc. Potatoes seem to be the worst offenders.
