It's very depending on which apk you want

Seeing as we're on /c/Piracy, I would assume a paid app, free.

DownOnSpot is the only one correct answer.

Edit: Zotify and Onthespot (which has a GUI) look good, as they too download straight from the source.

Heh, reminds me of this ancient meme from when the iPad first came out

Cozy

FYI SpotDL also downloads from YouTube, it just reads Spotify playlists.

You weren't kidding.

I don't personally have that big of a problem with my posts/comments being "persistent", as I have a fairly high threshold for commenting and refrain from commenting anything too incendiary. And anyway, posts/comments, as I see it, are public and should be considered as such.

However, what I'm still a bit unclear on is the privacy of my votes/saves in the Fediverse. Should I start exercising the same caution in what I upvote or save? I understand that my home instance admins will have access to this data, but is that it?

I don't think that's what OP is asking, I feel like it's more of a straightforward technical question. As in, if an instance is killed, what happens to the data "owned" by that instance?

I think the screenshot is just showing connections the app's made, not necessarily blocked ones. I doubt any blocklist would contain pool.ntp.org

Go ahead. The rule is about copyrighted content, not open source tools.

YAML, which is great

The Aristocats!

Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty good and I do prefer it to Postman. I just dislike the amount of extra features and weird Insomnia account stuff they have been adding the past few years. When it first came out I loved it for its simplicity, and I feel like that's being lost.

This is hilarious

What is that like really fancy long blimps

Not sure what garbled the link the but here it is

Only use VPN/torrents for extremely new or very obscure shows

Interesting, I would have thought torrents would be better for older stuff due to their theoretically infinite retention. Like, can you find, say, LOTR: The Return of the King on Usenet at the moment? Someone has to have uploaded it in the past ~2 years (retention period) or something for it to be available, right?

Photopea is excellent, but FOSS it is not.

Same, although it has been getting shittier and shittier.

Like the parent said, it surfaces old (as in years old) posts as "hot". Not sure if that's the case still, but I have definitely noticed it before.

Germans capitalize their nouns. As for the lower case proper noun, probably just a mistake.

To bring attention to what the artist is trying to say?

Yes, that's right. But the point stands, you indeed shouldn't do such encoding on the GPU, it's a tradeoff of (fast) speed vs (poor) quality and (big) size. Good for when you need realtime encoding.

Never played the game as it's a bit before my time, but immediately had the C64 rendition of the theme playing in my head:

During my 13.5 years of Reddit, I've used at least these, in possibly this order

  • Alien Blue (RIP)
  • Bacon Reader
  • Reddit is Fun
  • Reddit Sync
  • Joey, for the last ~6 years

Don't browse Reddit anymore, apps or browser. If I do end up visiting via Google, I use old.reddit.com.

That depends entirely on what you want to / need to do with your PC.

As a teenager some 15 years ago I did use a TTY only setup on an 800 MHz Pentium for... Months, I guess? Obviously I wasn't doing anything too immediately productive back then; I was mostly either compiling kernels or playing nethack with the wiki open in (e)links via screen for multiplexing. It was an intensely comfy experience as I recall, just a small handful of processes running at any given time.

What does "debrid" even mean? I know what it is, but what's it supposed to mean?

Heh, I like how the enemies are considerate enough to figure out and use the correct pronouns mid-battle

Hey, you! What are your pronouns? ... Thanks, now eat lead!
