This is just how search engine works, if the page they try to access fails or doesn't host the content you are searching they first get demoted and eventually removed. Twitter is login only for several days now so it's pretty normal that this is happening and it's likely happening on other search engine too.

The fact that this can be abused is quite alarming to be honest. Of course one could create a throwaway just to avoid this, but imagine if some admin of a different instance decide to ban you with a pretext for seeing a downvote on a post saying trans people are not people (which they might have created just to attract people and see who does downvote). Downvoting/Upvoting detailed info should not be visible to anyone imho to keep it transparent.

Since when I registered here I've been visiting lemmy more than reddit, although I go there from time to time to follow the shitshow as it's entertaining.
