An easy going software engineer that casually enjoys programming, playing guitar, and playing MMORPG games. Yadda yadda yadda, my opinions are my own, etc.

Because this CEO bet his life on his ideas, this would be more about hubris than greed. If it were just greed, he would have bet someone else's life.

Pessimistic: Apple lawyers have arguments prepared that DRM'ing individual components does not violate this law.

Less Pessimistic: Apple got a sufficient head start in supporting third-party repairs that it would be beneficial for them to get this law passed so that other manufacturers scramble to catch up.

A really nice electric guitar, amp, and pedal. Money was tight as a kid for a lot of reasons, my dad did the best he could. However, this meant playing with some equipment that didn’t sound quite right.

Now I have what I always wanted, but have trouble finding the time and energy to play.

Another one people might be interested in is Lapce. Seems to be the same thing as Zed, but has a Linux build available. https://lapce.dev/

What will probably happen is that people catch on that the content all reads alike and wonder why they shouldn’t just ask ChatGPT directly. Traffic to these sites die down, they panic, and start hiring writers.

It is.

For me, personally, I would rather pick them up from the points store because of the lower friction to get them loaded on the Deck.

There are people like you, and then there are people who refuse to learn new things.

That last one reads like C’thulhufactor.

I’ll be happy if they go through with this. I already have trouble resisting the lure of easy access food, but this will help me kick that habit.

I wonder if they will use the voice recordings to train their model.

Getting some sleep (sober). I’ve learned that the world seems harsher when I’m tired. After a night or two of good sleep, things feel less of an issue.

My layman understanding is probably incorrect, but it was my understanding that multiple dimensions coexist in the same universe. If there are multiple universes, each universe would have its own dimensions.

Now I am imagining Jack shimmying up the stairs as he's singing the song.

Apple added (a while back) what they call a “Neural Engine,” which is hardware dedicated to efficient execution of ML workloads.

They have been refining it ever since. I would not be surprised if they made advancements in both the hardware and software used for local GAI.

I am going to watch the VOD later, but I get the feeling I will disappointed. Not sure what others are looking forward to, but there are somethings I really want to see but feel that I won't (maybe ever):

  1. macOS Touch on iPad
  2. Desktop mode for iOS (e.g. Samsung Dex, not full blown macOS)
  3. Foldable iPhone
  4. Round Watch
  5. Dock to support multiple MacBooks

This will also likely be the last year I am on the iPhone Upgrade Program for a while unless they announce a foldable.

Every credit union I have been a part of had some home brewed security system that did not follow best practices. Really felt like they contracted out to some kid still in college just to have something online.

I’m certain there are better CUs out there, but I think the issue is most can’t afford much better.

Fashion Police Squad

Not the funniest I have played, but I definitely found it funny and fun.

World of Warcraft. If your focus is primarily in PvP, then you specifically want to look at Battlegrounds and Arenas in WoW.

With the way social media companies are imploding, you may get your wish.

I’m not a crypto investor, but I, like you bought some Ethereum with the same belief. It’s an intrinsically valuable currency.

I just buy premade meals from Trader Joe’s. Not necessarily their frozen foods, but their salads, wraps, and burritos.

It’s been a thing since preordering digital distributions was a thing.

They are, in the form of “diamond batteries”,

I have been looking for a while now. The closest I have ever been was Anytype, but it is not as user friendly or refined as Notion because it is still in active development.

I don’t know if it’s AWD, but I’m excited for the Fiat 500e coming to the U.S.

Also, wouldn’t this fall under the purview of the Space Force?

The only questions I have are:

  1. Whose DNA is this from?
  2. Do they know what researchers are doing with it?
  3. What qualities or abnormalities does this DNA have?
  4. What safeguards are in place to prevent it from fully developing?

I can understand disqualifying VMs, but why wouldn’t a container be that?

Gonna give this a try later. This is a fantastic idea if the back and forth resembles a real interview. Can help people build up confidence before a real interview. The trick will, unfortunately, be how well an interviewee can write the prompt. A future iteration may want to offer pre-made prompts tailored for specific companies and their positions.

What do you use in its place?

I go where the people are and the technology serves me best. For now, it’s ActivityPub. If I end up liking AT and most people are on it, I will be there too.

At the scale we need it to, it matters.

I have never tried this myself, but I am curious to know how well furikake works with popcorn.
