Appreciate the title summary as opposed to standard click-bait, doing good work!

I used to love getting the dollar menu stuff from McDonald’s and idk if it’s that I turned 30 and suddenly started feeling grumpy about everything but I refuse to go there now that their prices are like this for a “value menu”.

Not my intention, I’m trying to make the point of not purchasing from them due to deceptive pricing but it is still essentially free marketing. Not sure how to bring it up without that being the case

Yeah, as a person who’s ordered dominoes more than I like you have to start a coupon before you order and it makes it significantly cheaper (specifically the $7 per item coupon previously mentioned).

Also, I highly recommend switching the pizza crust from hand tossed to pan. It’s always been a free change when I’ve done it and the pizza always comes out significantly better. If you’re optimizing it’s also more calories/dollar.

Yeah it’s definitely bloated with companies just trying to act witty or like they’re people. Mastodon is infinitely better in that respect. Ive just been dumb trying to get more outreach for the social stuff I’ve been trying to do 😣

That seems like it makes sense. Which probably stems from me not having a regular sleep cycle with some of the Twitch streaming I do at night. Trying to balance work/family/life along with that is pretty difficult to get a good sleep schedule. Maybe I’ll try to do some workouts or exercises before work if I don’t feel dead in the morning.

Tons of great info here! Yeah like I think pictures + shelves for the walls are the way to go. It seems like for us it’s a matter of just putting something up to get started then that’ll jumpstart the rest. Love the idea of “semi-chaos.” I feel like my friends places have some more refined style but maybe ours just doesn’t work that way. It’s nice to know people embrace a less pristine style.

Definitely a board game family so getting some shelving units has become a necessity!

I’m sorry for your loss. The media will remain in our hearts forever! But really, the rabbit hole for media server/NAS setups/RAID configs goes so deep I don’t know where to start or what to think sooo I just ignore it currently.

I’ll have to look that up! Would definitely love a guide for extra info/tips and inspiration. I think wall decor is our largest hurdle, along with making sure to keep clutter to a minimum. Having a toddler makes it difficult sometimes.

Thank you so much for the breakdown of all the different rooms! Really helps set some perspective for the variety of examples and how that can work! We definitely have some stuff we’ve accumulated but could never decide where they should go. I think I’ll have to take a weekend and just start putting stuff up here and there and see how we like it. The worst thing we’ve done so far is really not attempt anything so we don’t even know if we’d like something.

Oof you got me! I had a feeling I’d be called out for the qualifier and with good reason! The reason for that was if I’m going to sleep late, then 5am gym isn’t feasible, but it sounds like I need to recalibrate my schedule so I don’t feel dead to be able to accommodate for some kind of morning activity.

We did just get some bookshelves to put in our basement! We have more space down there so it’s helpful for getting stuff stored, but doesn’t add to our spaces where we stay the most. I think it’s really wall decorations that stress me out and makes the room feel barren.

Yeah I’d be fine if it were just the tax, but literally marketing something one way and charging a 25% markup is just false advertising. Either change the name of the deal or change the price.

Am I petty for making such a fuss about $1, hell yeah, but is it annoying that “value” meals from every major fast food chain are going up while keeping the same name/title, absolutely

Yeah I agree with everything you’ve said! I’m super cautious before adopting any new pets. The only time I’d just get one is if I’m maybe adopting from a shelter to give an older cat a new home. My main concern is how they’d interact with our old lady cat because she can be a bit feisty!

I do really enjoy geometric and abstract stuff so I’ll have to look into them, we really just want to give our home some more personality so it feels like home. We have some artwork but never know which room they really fit in since they’re all kind of different moods and aesthetics.

I really appreciate you! I’m sorry if I took offense to any of your response. I’m like 30 and just learned this year that I may have adhd and that my standard way of doing things may not be “normal”. Totally looking into seeing a professional and learning more about myself and whatever treatment may be necessary. It’s great having people around for support as well, it means a lot!

I’m really appreciate the thoughtful response, just want to say that I never said I’m afraid of medication. I just like to be open minded about various options without directly assuming medication is the best option for every person in every situation. I definitely would want a medical professional to hear my specific symptoms or scenario and give that recommendation if it’s best for me! I’ll take look into your other suggestions as well, thanks!

Yeah we’ve picked up some pieces from craft fairs and sadly they’ve just been gathering dust because we could never decide where they “fit” best. I like more moody/atmospheric art so it’s not always the aesthetic we want in like the living room for example. Will definitely look into this more!

Fair, fair. I totally get it, I will agree though that your basic premise is still true: qualifiers aren’t the way to achieve a goal. Really just becomes reasoning to justify why you couldn’t achieve it.

We do all live our own lives, but I appreciate the callout you made and want to respect that. I start work at 8 but work from home so my alarm is like 7:30 and I just feel groggy anyways but again, probably due to lack or sleep and lack of a stricter schedule on my part. A bit harder for me to plan out with a family but I should be trying harder.

Apparently I’m high functioning or something?? I’ve made it this far through life and would call myself relatively successful (good career, family, etc). I do have some problems with prioritizing work and focusing (hence why the meme is relevant). Literally just did a Twitch focus stream to try to stay on track and hold myself accountable to be focused 😅

She was actually more of a chonk and diabetic at one point! She’s a much healthier weight range now but looks like she needs a tummy tuck xD

We have done some home renovation here and there so that’s always fine, except my spackle jobs aren’t always perfect! I think the hardest part for us is actually deciding which parts we care about the most. Obviously our family will take up part of it, but then we aren’t entirely sure about the rest. I think getting some plants is a great idea a lot of people are recommending. May need to do fake ones but still would be nice to add some color!

While I think medication is a valid option, Im not sure I would use it as the first option, unless I had a licensed therapist/psychiatrist give a diagnosis and medication recommendation. It’s entirely possible I just need a change of routine or environment, but everyone does has varying situations and medications is one option that I think (I don’t have any sources haha) proves effective!

I’m sorry, please correct me if I’m wrong, but where did I say that I’m opposed or don’t want to see a doctor? All I pretty much said is that there are a variety of options and that I would like a professional recommendation before assuming medication is the best solution for my situation. Please be careful with assuming other people’s health situations and making false accusations in the future.
